Hiring a yacht is the ideal way to explore Kos, one of the most beautiful islands in the Dodecanese complex. With mountainous villages, endless sandy beaches, and a strategic point for your private yacht charter, you cannot miss the chance to visit Kos and its unique coastline in the Aegean Sea. Kos has several picturesque marinas, where you can find the ideal yacht of your choice. You can directly contact the owners for the ideal yacht, or simply allow a BednBlue travel expert to guide you with some hand-picked suggestions.
You have plenty of options:
You can book and hire a yacht with a skipper, or without one if you own a license, and enjoy a one-day cruise to Kalymnos or Leros. With the option to hire a motor yacht, you can visit multiple beaches along the coastline you desire, with ease. Finally, you can hire a luxury sailboat or gullet where you can visit Rhodes, Astypalaia, and Bodrum in the most exciting island-hopping trips you could imagine.
Kos is located southeast of the Aegean Sea, opposite the Bodrum peninsula, and close to the Turkish coast. It is the second-biggest island in the Dodecanese and has a natural beauty that is rich and lively. The city center in Kos houses an open-air museum, where archeological objects and findings exist in a historic unfolding. The city combines beautifully modernity and ancient times in a blend. You will find beautiful parks, boulevards, and graceful public buildings. The island also has active nightlife and luxury shops. Once you are on the island, explore Kos Town and its lively nightclubs, bars, and restaurants. If you want to visit some interesting cultural sites, take your time to explore the historical artifacts and ruins. You will find the tree of Hippocrates, father of medicine, who had his home in the land. Go up to see the gigantic medieval castles that glorify Kos’ Town. The castle sits as a guard to the harbor's entrance, so it is impossible to miss. This is just a glimpse of the things you can do before you head to your yacht. Pick your preferred yacht and discover every corner of the island, full of hidden surprises and unexpected beauties.
Kos yacht trips will allow you to visit the south coast, which is still remote and inaccessible by land. You will enjoy visiting beaches like Magic Beach and Paradise Beach. These are known for their cold refreshing waters, are organized, and have arranged amenities for all travelers. When you move away from the beaches, you should visit the thermal springs deep in Agios Fokas, about 10 kilometers away from Kos Town. The thermal springs are pools of hot water, surrounded by boulders with minerals, loved for their healing properties. Take the time to relax at the thermal springs after a busy day. Other great beaches to add to your yacht tours in Kos include the secluded beach of Limnionas, Kamari, Kardamena, and Marmari, which can get a little crowded during summer. Your private yacht charter will offer you unique moments by the shore, and you can simply enjoy swimming away from the crowds, in the most secluded spots.
When you are ready to bid goodbye to Kos, make Kalymnos Island your next stop, where you can opt for either a quiet or busy setting. Pothia is a busy location on the island. It is also the main harbor on the island, filled with sailing and fishing boats. Vathi Bay is a more quiet and serene environment. Kalymnos Island is a paradise on earth and can mark a great one- or two-day charter experience from Kos. Once you leave Kalymnos, it is a short trip to Leros island. The main port of Leros is Lakki, and it has an artistic feel of the 1930s. You will love the town and its friendly people, who will make the stay worth your while. You can visit several other islands, including the picture-perfect settlements and hilltop villages of Astypalaia. You can also visit the pilgrim destination, Patmos, and take a tour at St. John's monastery. Stop over at Symi and admire the neoclassical-themed mansions. If you do not have any navigational notions, we then recommend you hire a yacht with a skipper. With a professional captain on board, you will have no trouble with where to make crucial stops during your yachting holiday in Greece. Some great destinations you may want to add during your island-hopping trips in the Dodecanese complex, include Rhodes (Greece), Bodrum, and Fethiye (Turkey), where you will be able to experience the cultural contrast and create lifetime experiences.

Crewed Catamaran Charters from Kos
You don't need to worry about qualifications or even sailing the boat in the Dodecanese Island chain with Borrow a Boat! A Kos crewed catamaran charter on a motor yacht or sailing catamaran can mean you do as much or as little physically sailing the yacht as you like on your yacht charter holiday.
A skippered yacht charter or will mean that the skipper will be aboard with their own cabin to attend to all your needs. A crewed yacht charter or gulet charter will involve one or two crew on the gulet charter who will cook, sail and make suggestions as to your best destinations on your sailing itinerary. With their local knowledge, even if you're an experienced sailor you can enjoy a perfect yacht charter holiday.
One of the advantages of a crewed yacht charter vacation is that you can go longer distances from the yacht charterbase. The Saronic Islands are within reach, as are the Cyclades and indeed Crete.
As to you? You can just enjoy the breezes and views on your luxury yacht charter, or if you fancy learning a bit about sailing, help the skipper or crew to get the boat from A-B.
A Kos crewed yacht charter will cost a little more (typically €150 a day for a skipper and €100 per crew member) and it's the done thing to thank them with a tip at the end of the week.
Bareboat Catamaran Charter From Kos
A bareboat yacht charter vacation will mean that you can take the charter yacht out on your own. Generally for vessels up to 20 metres LOA on a sailing license such as an RYA Day Skipper or ASA 104 Bareboat certificate, you will have total responsibility for the yacht.
You will need to think about your itinerary, victualling, possible secondary ports should a marina be full, as well as issues like weather and mooring fees.
On a bareboat catamaran charter you will be asked to pay for insurance in the form of a security deposit to the charter company on departure or through buying charter insurance before you leave the yacht charter base.
When searching a geographical area on Borrow A Boat you can filter by the below charter yacht types. There is also the option to further filter your searches by price, the number of guests, cabins or bathrooms, what year the catamaran was launched, the boat length and the boat manufacturer.
Types of Catamarans Available:
Sailing Catamarans: Luxury catamarans are stable and spacious type of sailing boat, with quick sailing performance, and and have been gaining in popularity in recent years. Better for larger groups, they have lots of room for water toys, and are big enough for a little privacy. A catamaran charter luxury yacht is easy and comfortable for novices not used to heeling and are loved by families due to their extra space when compared to a monohull sailing yacht. Typically far more luxurious than a sailboat, the larger catamarans have en suite toilets and showers in the cabin as well as ample entertaining space in the saloon and on deck.
Power Catamarans: These motor yacht catamarans are relatively new but have also been gaining in popularity as the two hulls keep the boat more stable when compared to a monohull. The wider beam of these motor boats also mean more deck space and as they don't have sails or a mast, they have a lot more space on deck than a sailing catamaranrental or monohull. For a luxury catamaran charter, consider taking a crewed catamaran charter sailing vacation with an experienced skipper.
On your crewed catamaran boat rental or bareboat charter sailing vacation you can explore the Dodecanese island group to your heart's content. Here we suggest a 7 day sailing holiday and a 14 day yacht charter holiday on your charter boat:
7 Days - Rhodes and smaller islands: The mid point of the sailing holiday will be popular Rhodes to the south. The smaller islands of Nisiros and Symi close to the Turkish coast will be your first two evening destinations, and then two days on Rhodes itself. Chalki and then Tilos to the west will be your next evenings ashore before returning to Kos Town for handover.
14 Days - Cyclades and Dodecanese: This might be better on a gulet charter with crew to handle the sailing as there are some longer legs. Over these two weeks afloat on your boat rental you will head out to Naxos and Paros in the Cyclades island group as your mid-point. Stopping at Tilos and Asypalea for your first two evenings you then head to the Cyclades islands of Amorgos, Paxos and then Paros. The beautiful island of Antiparos is world renowned for the cuisine here, and with a full belly (and possibly a sore head!), head to the somewhat quieter Ios the next day. Anofi will be your next island destination, and then back into the Dodecanese island group to Karpathos to the south of Rhodes. Halki and Symi will be your next evenings ashore and then back to Kos Town for handover.
If you are on a skippered catamaran charter you do not need a license to sail out of Kos, you can just turn up at the marina and go.
You do need a license if you are on a bareboat catamaran charter and in some countries such as Greece a day skipper or ICC may not be enough for boats over 45 feet in length, you will need to check with the charter agent but here are some examples of typical sailing qualifications that will allow you to charter in most countries:
International Certificate of Competence: This is issued on request by your European sailing authority and you should automatically qualify with certain national sailing qualifications.
RYA Qualifications: If you have the following qualifications you will typically be able to take a bareboat charter out of Rhodes (but it is worth checking as per above), these include Day Skipper (sail or motor endorsement), Coastal Skipper or Yachtmaster.
American Sailing Association (ASA): The ASA 104 Bareboat certificate is commonly accepted but also check as per above
US Sailing : The International Proficiency Certificate is widely accepted and The Bareboat Cruising Certificate is also accepted in many cases.

Catamaran Charter in Martinique: Charter around wonderful Martinique and enjoy stunning the Caribbean landscapes
Catamaran Charter in The Bahamas: The ideal location for a luxury catamaran charter in crystal clear waters
What should i consider when hiring a catamaran.
The main points to consider are what is your budget, have you got the necessary sailing experience and qualifications to manage the boat if it's not going to have a skipper, whom you are taking sailing, where exactly you wish to go and what will the weather be like on the proposed dates of your trip.
You will typically pay 50% up front on booking the catamaran hire and the balance on arrival. You will either pay a security deposit with your credit card on departure or can get insurance covering damage in advance. In some cases (such as the recent Covid situation) charter companies may be more flexible but this depends on the individual chartercompanies themselves.

If you are at sea and in danger, call MAYDAY on VHF Ch16 or ring the coast guard on your phone if you have reception. If you have a mechanical fault and can make it to or are on a mooring you will be able to phone a help line number given by the boat charter company and they can typically send someone from the charter base
You should consider do you have the experience to handle the catamaran before you book and where do you want to go along with what the weather will be like. Bring warm weather and cool weather clothing if it looks like the weather can be cool as well as warm and remember at sea it can be cool in the evenings.
If you want to sail without a skipper then you will need relevant qualifications like RYA Day Skipper/International Certificate of Competence (ICC)/ASA 104 Bareboat certificate or the US Sailing Certificate. If you choose to have a skipper on board your catamaran you won't require licences.

NEW CHARTER BASE IN SKRADIN CROATIA
Realtime availability & online booking for 2024
Greece is quite simply the perfect sailing destination in Europe. Blessed with a mild southern Mediterranean climate with an extended summer giving a comfortable sailing season of close to eight months, our small country has over 13,000 kilometres of coastline to explore . That impressive number comes from the over 6000 islands and islets scattered like diamonds in the sea, each of them inviting you to swim for hours, socialise while tasting Greece’s well know cuisine and enjoy the beauty of a Greek summer spent next to the waves. Greece is truly a sailor’s paradise .
At Istion Yachting, we have been providing unforgettable sailing holidays in Greece for more than 30 years. From our humble beginnings on the island of Kos in 1992 we now offer charters throughout Greece from our 11 main charter bases. Our experienced skippers and crews, charter base staff, planning departments and every one of the wider Istion team is an expert in their field and is ready to assist you in planning the perfect sailing holiday in Greece . We look forwarded to welcoming you this summer!
There are so many options, and only so much time. The diversity of the different sailing areas in Greece makes picking just one difficult, which is why so many of our guests come back to sail again and again . There is always another beautiful island to visit and another idyllic beach to swim on!
Peak sailing season is from late June through August with hot weather, warm seas and busy islands. Availability can become limited during this period so booking early is essential.
Late spring from May to June and late summer from September to early October are often considered the best time to sail for experienced sailors and repeat visitors to our country. The weather is great and the islands are more relaxed than the busy summer months.
For those who want to live the real Greek way of life, April and October can be rewarding, with less heat, fewer visitors and enticing low-season offers . A few of the restaurants and shops on some islands may not have opened or may have closed for the season, but in our opinion early and late season sailing in Greece is a magical and unique experience .
The Argo Saronic Gulf is actually two gulfs (the Saronic and Argolic ) that are often referred to together in sailing terms given their close distances to each other. The Saronic Gulf lies in between Athens and the coast of the Argolid Peninsula while the Argolic Gulf is one hop over in between the peninsula and the first large leg of the Eastern Peloponnese , which runs all the way south to Monemvasia.
We often recommend this area to first time sailors for a number of practical reasons. First and foremost, it is the easiest area to reach from Athens , which makes it an ideal spot for those arriving via the Athens International Airport. Within a few hours of touching down you can be swimming and relaxing on board having reached your first destination.
Another advantage is that the area is well protected from the annual Meltemi winds that can blow strongly in July and August and may create challenging conditions for less experienced sailors.
The Argo Saronic Gulf also has plenty of places to visit on either a one or two-week holiday. One-week holidays will usually take in the nearby islands of Aigina and Poros before looping down to the coastal town of Ermioni and the cosmopolitan islands of Spetses and Hydra further south. A visit to Epidavros for a quick trip to its famous ancient theatre is not to be missed for the history buffs.
Two week holidays allow you to explore further east, with the coastal towns of Nafpleio, Leonidio and Kyparissi offering relaxed mooring while cruising the coast of the Eastern Peloponnese.
We invite you to learn more about our Athens charter base , download our sample one-week Saronic Gulf sailing itinerary for inspiration and contact us with any questions, we are here to help you plan your perfect sailing holiday.
Ah, the Cyclades. A name steeped in history that brings the classic image of a Greek island to everyone’s mind. While Greece has many island chains and all of them are unique and magical, the Cyclades has become nearly synonymous with the county as a whole for many visitors.
Characterised by their white houses, rugged landscapes and world famous beaches , the Cyclades attract visitors from around the world and are a must see for everyone at some point in their life. For sailors the area offers a huge variety of routes and islands to visit, from the world famous islands Mykonos and Santorini to the popular Paros and Naxos and many, many more in between.
A note about the Meltemi winds that blow from the north in July and August. In the Cyclades these winds can make for challenging conditions and sailing the area during these times is best for experienced sailors. Don’t despair all you beginner sailors! If you want a helping hand our skippers are the best in Greece and will be happy to take care of the sailing and navigation so you can enjoy the islands worry free.
The Cyclades are reached from our main base in Alimos Marina on the western side of Attica giving quick access to the islands of Kea, Kithnos, Serifos, Sifnos and Milos among others.
Our base in Lavrion is perfect for getting a head start to the islands of Andros, Tinos, Mykonos, Paros and Naxos . The Lavrion base is further south and on the east side of Attica, saving a couple of hours of additional sailing time on your way out. As an added bonus, Lavrion is just half an hour from the Athens International Airport so you can be on your way towards your destination just an hour or two after landing.
Located on the western side of Greece the seven main islands of the Ionian Sea have their own unique charm and character . The Ionian Islands are much greener than most islands in Greece, their location and geography bringing more rainfall during the winter months and allowing trees and shrubs to grow and thrive. The combining of colours between the green of the hills , the white of the sands and the blue of the sea are a special treat for visitors to this area.
Istion maintains three bases in the Ionian, on Corfu in the north and in Lefkas (or Lefkada) and nearby Preveza further south.
Itineraries starting from Corfu may include multiple stops along the Corfu coast, visits to the islands of Paxos and Antipaxos and visits to mainland ports including Parga and Syvota .
Trips starting from Lefkas or Preveza may head either north towards Corfu or South towards the islands of Kalamos and Kastos and then on to the mythical island of Ithaca and nearby Kefalonia . Note that our base in Preveza is just 10 minutes from the Aktion Airport where all charter flights to Lefkas arrive. If your flight times are tight, Preveza is a great option .
We recommend downloading our sample sailing itineraries for trips leaving from Corfu and from Lefkas or Preveza . If you need more recommendations for a truly unique voyage through to the Ionian just contact us , we will be happy to help.
The Dodecanese islands in the southeast Aegean are close to our heart. The central island of Kos is where Istion Yachting first started operations in 1992 .
The Dodecanese are known for their wonderful beaches and rich history ranging from the ancient to the medieval to the modern in a delightful kaleidoscope of sights and sounds . The area has relatively mild wind conditions that are perfect for sailing throughout the year and has plenty of sun and warmth during the summer months.
Istion now has two bases in the Dodecanese, our home base on Kos and another on the historic island of Rhodes . From Kos you may head north towards the islands of Kalimos, Leros and Patmos and if time permits all the way to amazing Ithaki and Fourni .
Heading south from Kos will put you on course to visit the islands north of Rhodes including Nisiros, Tilos and Symi . Setting sail from Rhodes itself also reaches these islands or you can choose to head west, exploring the coast of Rhodes and visiting the quaint island of Chalki and the beautiful islands of Karpathos and Kasos .
Charter flights from most European countries fly direct to both Kos and Rhodes making them a great starting point for your next Aegean adventure !
The Sporades are the hidden gem on the Greek sailing map . Nestled off the eastern coast of central Greece the main islands of Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos and Skyros are a beautiful combination of green mountains, sandy and pebble beaches and deep blue seas. Nature plays a staring role here, with the National Marine Park at Alonissos being a significant refuge for the Monachus Monachus or Mediterranean seal .
Sailing conditions in the Sporades are relatively mild, although winds can shift between the day and night requiring some care when mooring. Distances between islands are short allowing a lot of fun to be packed into a week long charter .
We have two charter bases servicing the Sporades, a base on the island of Skiathos where most European charter flights arrive and another on the mainland city of Volos . Tailored for the seasoned sailor, bareboat charters hand the helm over to you, allowing complete freedom to navigate the Greek seas at your own pace . Your sailing party must have at least one licensed skipper and one experienced crew member at a minimum to be able to rent our yachts as bareboats.
If you have some sailing experience but do not hold a valid license then a bareboat charter is not (yet) for you and your best option is a skippered charter where our friendly captains will give you a helping hand. If you are an experienced sailor and have no concerns about the challenges of wind conditions, navigation and docking then we invite you to read more about our bareboat charters here and contact us with any questions you may have.
Our skippered charters are the perfect blend of guidance and freedom, designed for those who have some sailing experience, are eager to learn or just want to relax and let a professional do the hard work . With an Istion skipper at your side, you can enjoy the peace of mind that comes with their expert navigation and docking skills while still playing an active role in your sailing adventure.
It's an educational and exhilarating experience where you can hone your sailing skills, participate in manoeuvring the yacht, and even take the helm under the watchful eye of your skipper. It is an amazing experience for everyone and kids in particular have a great time learning about sailing and playing little captain for a week.
Our skippered charters always start off with a briefing between you and your skipper so you can learn about the area you are going to sail and the islands you may want to visit. Our skippers know the Greek seas inside out and based on your preferences they will suggest recommended itineraries to follow, which islands to visit and what hidden beaches to swim at.
If you are planning your first sailing holiday in Greece , you are in the very best hands with Istion's professional skippers by your side. Read more about our skippered charters here , or just get in touch to start planning your perfect sailing holiday in Greece.

Sailing yachts are perfect for those who love the classic feeling of sailing. Designed to be easy to handle, they smoothly glide through the water and let you enjoy the natural beauty of the Greek seas. They're a bit slower than other boats, and they lean to one side when the wind blows, which is all part of the classic sailing adventure. Their charming appearance and comfortable ride make them ideal for those who want to experience traditional sailing in a relaxed and eco-friendly way.
Sailing yachts are also the most budget friendly option for a sailing holiday in Greece. Our smaller yachts with three cabins and space for up to six guests (or eight if two sleep in the main cabin) can be rented for as little as roughly 1200 Euros a week in the low season. Costs for larger yachts with up to 6 cabins and space for up to 12 guests rise to approximately 10.000 Euros a week in the high season.
At Istion, we proudly offer a wide selection of the latest models as well as impeccably maintained older sailing yachts from Jeanneau, Beneteau, Bavaria, Sun Odyssey, Hanse and other top shipyards. Whether you're planning a cozy trip for a small group or a grand sailing adventure for a larger party, we have the right yacht to suit your needs.
Catamarans are the choice for those who want lots of space and a stable, comfortable trip. With their two-hull design, they don't rock as much as sailing yachts, which is great if you're new to sailing or easily feel seasick. You can also get closer to the beach with a catamaran, as they don't sit very deep in the water. Catamarans offer a smooth and spacious experience, making for a relaxing and comfortable sailing holiday and are a very popular choice for first time sailors in Greece.
For families and larger groups, the bigger cabins and more room to move around on a catamaran make them a good fit for your holiday. The double hull layout means two families can easily sail together while each having their own 'private space' on either side of the main deck. Catamarans also tend to have one washroom per cabin, a feature all parents with teenage kids appreciate.
The comfort and space offered in a catamaran puts them in a higher budget bracket than our monohull sailing yachts. Our smallest catamarans with four cabins and room for up to 10 guests start at roughly 2100 Euros per week in low season. Our top of the line models can range up to 16.000 Euros plus in the middle of the high season.
We are proud to have one of the largest fleets of catamarans in Greece with brand new models from Lagoon, Bali and Fountaine Pajot among others. We invite you to browse all our catamarans and contact us for any guidance you need to help make your sailing adventure in Greece perfect in every way.
Motor yachts are all about luxury and speed. They have multiple levels with lots of space, including big bedrooms and expansive living areas. These boats move quickly, powered by strong engines, so they're great if you want to explore a lot of places fast and make an impressive entrance wherever you go.
Our motor yachts are all modern, with plush interiors and all the latest features for entertainment and entertaining. However, they do use more fuel and require a professional captain and crew, so there's a higher cost for this kind of luxury and speed. If you're looking for a high-end and fast-paced trip with all the modern comforts, motor yachts are the way to go .

We very rarely write reviews, but this is a special case. We cannot recommend this service highly enough! In fact, it was the high point of our time on Kos, which was already chock full of high points. 4 of us chartered the boat for a half day. First, the boat is top notch- comfortable, safe, perfect for the task. Blue Zone was incredibly easy to book with, affordable, and client focused. But best of all was our skipper, Sotiris, who was an absolute star. He’s an experienced seaman, and genuinely enthusiastic about sharing the beauty of Kos and local environs. We felt safe, welcomed, and extraordinarily well cared for throughout. A fabulous experience and HIGHLY recommend!
We booked a full day cruise with Bluezone twice as part of our vacation and can now draw on a memory that will last a lifetime. Bluezone is the best company that offers private boat tours that we have had so far and we do these private cruises as a couple at least twice a year at different locations in Europe. The care and safety of the crew on this RIB boat, which is in perfect optical and technical condition, is outstanding. Giannis and Akis are extremely (and more than that) experienced, competent, friendly and careful with their guests and also with the boat. They know the waters and really lonely bays and beaches where others only make promises. Starting with the booking, through consultation, boarding the boat, catering, answering all questions, implementing wishes, pleasant time management (no hurry or hurry) to saying goodbye... here you will find perfection and feel the love for the job at Akis and Giannis. Indescribable moments, unreal crystal clear water, fascinating snorkeling experiences (e.g. to a wreck), friendliness... you can't put into words what we were able to experience. We came on this boat as paying customers and left as friends. We would like to say THANK YOU to Giannis and Akis for 2 great days with you, for the time we had together at lunch, for the nice conversations, for your hospitality, for your caring, for your open, warm manner, for your diligence and for lifelong memories. We will definitely see each other again and if a private boat tour on Kos, then only with Bluezone

Sailing around Kos offers an enticing combination of ideal weather conditions and picturesque coastlines. The island benefits from a classic Mediterranean climate, characterized by warm summers and mild winters. During the prime sailing months, which extend from late spring to early autumn, Kos welcomes the consistent Meltemi winds. These reliable northwesterly winds typically range from 15 to 25 knots, ensuring excellent sailing opportunities for both intermediate and more seasoned sailors. The sea remains relatively tranquil, with waves averaging around 1 to 2 meters, ensuring a comfortable and pleasurable sailing experience. Nonetheless, it's prudent to stay informed about weather forecasts and local conditions, particularly during the transitional periods of May and October. The wind speeds tend to pick up during these periods. For an optimal sailing adventure amidst the stunning waters surrounding Kos, late spring or early autumn is the preferred timeframe to embark on your voyage.

It all depends on the type of boat vacation you would like to experience in Kos and what kind of experiences you would like to have. Rent a sailboat in Kos for a real adventure or a boat with two hulls for a more relaxed vacation in the Greek islands .
Pros of renting a motorboat in Kos
A motorboat charter in Kos is ideal for those travelling in comfort and style. You have plenty of room on board and on deck, and don’t have to worry about taking up too much space when travelling with others.
Another great thing about a motorboat rental in Kos is the fact that motorboats are a lot faster than other types of boats, making them the perfect water vehicles to explore stunning coastlines and race across the turquoise waters to see everything you want to see.
Cons of renting a motorboat in Kos
If you want to rent a motorboat in Kos to explore the islands and its surroundings, you should also be aware of some cons coming with that. Motorboats are not the cheapest boats to charter in Greece and you will have to pay extra for the fuel you’re using on your trip, making them not particularly budget-friendly.

Pros of renting a catamaran in Kos
A catamaran charter in Kos is a great choice for anyone wanting to explore the Greek Islands in style. You have plenty of space on deck, the bedrooms feel like lovely hotel rooms on water, and due to the two hulls a catamaran stands on, there is plenty of room to host a nice-sized group of people. The two hulls support the catamaran so much that it feels less shaky on board - even when the wind and waves pick up a little.
Another great thing about a catamaran rental in Kos is the fact that catamarans come equipped with both a sail and an engine. This makes them very versatile and you can easily react to the changing weather conditions. When the winds are not blowing strong enough, you can always revert to using the engine.
Cons of renting a catamaran in Kos
Something important to keep in mind when chartering a catamaran in Kos is the fact that they are relatively big and with the two hulls, not the easiest to navigate - especially in narrow spaces. You might want to practice your skills before hopping on a catamaran in Greece .
Catamaran charter in Kos
Pros of renting a sailboat in Kos
A sailboat charter in Kos is a great choice for anyone who wants to explore the islands while enjoying a journey filled with freedom and adventure. You solely sail with the power of the wind and have to fully immerse yourself in Mother Nature.
This makes a sailboat rental in Kos a lot more environmentally friendly than other types of boat holidays. As you harness the power of the wind, you don’t produce any additional CO2-emissions. As you don’t have to worry about leaving the marinas with a full tank, you’re saving on fuel and therefore also a lot of money. Perfect for those travelling on a budget!
Cons of renting a sailboat in Kos
One of the downsides of a sailboat hire in Kos is the fact that you need some skills to sail a sailboat in the Greek Islands. It is not the easiest terrain to get around and sailing a sailboat means that simply pressing a button is not enough to get around.
Sailboat rental in Kos
Anyone who wants to charter a yacht in Kos needs to be in possession of a valid boat licence. There are plenty of licences accepted, including the ICC, ASA and RYA. However, you don’t need to carry a VHF radio licence.
