63-meter yacht SOUNDWAVE gears up for a busy summer in the Mediterranean

Although sporting a new name, the 63m (217ft) Benetti yacht SOUNDWAVE (ex-11/11) is unmistakable as the award-winning vessel that has become synonymous with luxury yacht chartering . Now she is getting ready to welcome guests aboard around the stunning destinations of the Mediterranean this summer. 

With her eye-catching ice-white exterior and iconic plumb bow, motor yacht SOUNDWAVE makes a bold statement wherever she cruises. However, it's for her wealth of amenities and luxurious living spaces that makes her the popular choice for charters.

Featuring lavish Art Deco-inspired interiors awash with rich marbles and resplendent chandeliers, this Gatsby-esque scheme follows through into her accommodation for 12 guests across 6 suites. This includes a dedicated owner’s deck equipped with a spa pool and private terrace that enjoys unparalleled views across the yacht's elongated bow.

The 63-meter yacht Artisan, built in Italy by Benetti in 2019, is now available for sale. This luxurious vessel features a beam of 10.6 meters, a draft of 3.4 meters, and a gross tonnage of 1,245. It is equipped to accommodate 16 guests in 7 cabins: 6 double cabins, 1 cabin with a double/twin configuration, and 2 additional berths. The yacht is served by a crew of 15 members. It boasts a cruising speed of 15 knots, a maximum speed of 16 knots, and a range of 3,800 nautical miles.

At 63 meters (207 feet) in length with five expansive decks, including a top-level gym and yoga deck situated high above the sundeck, ARTISAN stands as one of Benetti shipyard's largest creations, renowned for its meticulous craftsmanship in Italy. Designed by Giorgio Cassetta, her exterior features elegant custom lines that exude sophistication and style, making her a standout in any marina.

However, it's inside where ARTISAN truly captivates. Spanning a vast 1,245 gross tonnage, her interior spaces are masterfully crafted by Bannenberg & Rowell to accommodate up to 16 guests. A unique design approach includes an asymmetric layout, where the main saloon, upper saloon, and beach club lounge are subtly rotated by 30 degrees, offering unprecedented perspectives and enhancing the overall ambiance with a relaxed and graceful feel.

The interior décor is characterized by a crisp, contemporary palette, enriched by iconic Fendi furniture, bespoke white oak finishes, and accents of carbon fiber, smoked oak, cream leather, and stainless steel. Notably, the upper saloon features a dark gloss grand piano and a stunning bar crafted from rare white marble framed in polished steel.

The master suite spans an impressive 160 square meters and includes an office, lounge area, two dressing rooms, interconnected bathrooms, and panoramic forward-facing windows offering a 180-degree view. A large private bow terrace with seating and sunpads complements the suite, enhancing the experience of luxury and comfort.

Abeking & Rasmussen’s 63 metre SWATH yacht

Here’s a 63.4 meter long fabulous Swath (Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull) superyacht design penned down, developed and built by Abeking & Rasmussen (A&R) alongside Reymond Langton Design. At the base of the Swath concept lies a pair of torpedo-shaped submarine hulls which both lie under the water surface, permanently. The two are tied to the yacht via two narrow struts.

An interesting fact about this superyacht is that the cross-section region at the surface of the sea is around a sixth of a comparable size superyacht, therefore only a small part of the ship is actually exposed to the lifting forces exerted by the waves, while 5 sixths of the flotation is bore by the submarine hulls.

This allows even those suffering from seasickness to get onboard the superyacht, as, due to the reduced contact area between the ocean and the hull, Swath superyachts are dramatically less affected by the motion of the sea – physicists call this lower vertical acceleration.

The beam of the yacht further increases its stability, which results in being almost double the one of a traditional yacht of this massive size. The beam alone measures 24.5 meters in length, allowing for almost palatial interiors. A disadvantage of the yacht is that its twin hulls come with no interior guest space, but this is compensated by the huge space on the decks above.

The main deck houses four double cabins, lined up in the bow of the yacht and ending with a fore facing private balcony. A fifth double cabin can be found behind the fore cabins, which, even though it doesn’t boast with such exceptional luxury, still features breathtaking views through expansive windows. In addition, the main deck also provides a lavish gym and an entrance lobby, also usable as a secondary saloon, in case the standard levels of accommodation get surpassed.

The area which on regular yachts serves as the main deck, here consists of a central galley and accommodation for the crew, fully separated from the guest areas. The dining area and the main saloon will be located on the bridge deck, both opening up towards a massive aft guest deck, tied to the superyacht’s private helipad.

Furthermore, the owner will be gifted with his own private deck above the bridge, including a fore-facing cabin, private saloon aft alongside his and hers bathrooms. The highest deck of the boat, the sundeck, boasts with a lounge area, sunpads and a magnificent Jacuzzi.

Benetti delivers M/Y “Metis”, a 63-meter superyacht with innovative design

The interiors, designed by UK studio Bannenberg & Rowell, who worked in partnership with the Birgit Otte Interior Atelier, are designed in a modern style. The exteriors are the work of Giorgio M. Cassetta. The custom gym on the Fly Deck, the “touch and go” helipad and the over 160 sq. m owner’s apartment with two double beds and an outdoor terrace all contribute to make “Metis” a unique Benetti model.

“Metis” has been delivered to its owner in Livorno. She is a 63-meter long custom yacht with a very elaborated interior design. In his role as consultant to the owner, Kurt Lehmann of Yacht Moments has been in charge of the project management and praised Benetti for the great work that had characterized the entire “Metis” design and construction period: “Benetti confirmed once again its name as icon of timeless Italian style and excellence in megayacht construction. The highly skilled Benetti’s technicians and engineers and the artisans who worked for the shipyard have created an amazing yacht.

The dedication of everyone in communicating and exchanging views with the captain and owner was remarkable.” Yacht Moments have also been responsibly involved in the conception and development of this stylish custom superyacht project – always taking care of the completion of the owner’s ideas, demands and inspirations. Notably the additional upper gym-deck has been developed by Yacht Moments and perfectly realized by Benetti and Giorgio M. Cassetta

The exteriors are the result of the collaboration between Benetti and Giorgio M. Cassetta who, through a painstaking design, sought to maximise the dynamic proportions of a yacht that has an impressing long bow with vertical straight edge. “Metis is a modern and timeless yacht, which displays large volumes behind flowing lines and innovative features, such as the private deck. The design is simple, yet characteristic of Benetti,” said the Italian designer.

The interiors are the result of the collaboration between German studio Birgit Otte Interior, based in Wolfersdorf, and Bannenberg & Rowell, an English studio directed by Dickie Bannenberg and Simon Rowell. The London-based duo, famous for devising creative solutions based on bold shapes and geometric motifs, with an eye-catching design and a fine finish, were given a great deal of leeway in the design.

Dickie Bannenberg, who is thrilled with this project, commented: “Metis’ unique layout has freed us from what I call ‘the tyranny of alignment’, allowing us to unlock new corners and views of asymmetric designs. This approach in particular is reflected in the beach club, where the rooms are rotated by about 30° compared to traditional layouts and offer a new view over the sea through the transom and the side doors.

The novelty of this particular rotation also characterizes the main salon and the upper deck salon, challenging conventional expectations and perceptions.

The originality of “Metis” is also evident in the full-beam owner’s suite, which features a lounge and offers a breathtaking 180-degree view thanks to the full-height glazed surfaces on the private bow deck. The design of this room is based on a contemporary range of wood finishes using smoked oak, carbon and polished steel combined with calacatta and coffee brown marbles. The bold, geometric shapes can be found in the stainless steel bed frames, furniture and finishes. A private lounge is also available in the babysitting cabin, which has a terrace overlooking the sea.

Irimari will be accommodating twelve guests in six suites -all ensuite bathroom-. She has accommodation for up to seventeen crew members. The owners are already fulfilling plans to use her in Eastern Med region with her being in Greece and Irimari is expected to make her world debut at the September Monaco Yacht Show (MYS). Video: Inside the 63 Metre Recently Delivered Benetti Superyacht Metis

Italian yard Benetti has posted a first-look tour video around the recently delivered 63-metre superyacht Metis .

Formerly known as  Project Balance , Metis was delivered by Italian yard Benetti  to her German owner in June this year.

Construction on the steel and aluminium yacht began on speculation in December 2016 in Livorno before the yacht was sold by Yacht Moments, who has also overseen project management. Metis features a modern exterior design defined by a long vertical bow by Giorgio M Casetta and innovative interiors by London-based studio Bannenberg & Rowell  and Birgit Otte Interior Design.

This fully custom yacht features accommodation for 12 guests split across eight cabins including a huge owner's suite spanning 162 square metres on the upper deck. The highly private space boasts 180-degree views through windows surrounding almost the entire perimeter and, along with the master cabin, offers two bathrooms with walk-in wardrobes, a lounge area and 55 square metre bow deck terrace with touch and go helipad.

Another key aspect of  Metis  is the  superyacht beach club , which features fold-out sections on both sides and at the stern, to promote a strong sense of interaction with the sea. Meanwhile, the main deck saloon features an open plan layout, with the lounge flowing seamlessly into the dining area. Both of these areas, in addition to the lounge area on the upper deck, are skewed at a 30 degree angle when compared to more traditional layouts to offer unusual vantage points from which to enjoy sea views.

Director of Bannenberg & Rowell, Dickie Bannenberg, said: "Metis' unique layout has freed us from what I call 'the tyranny of alignment', allowing us to unlock new corners and views of asymmetric designs. This approach in particular is reflected in the beach club".

The asymmetric layout allows space for a children's playroom and nanny suite on the main deck while crew accommodation for 12 is found on the lower deck. A captain's cabin is found aft of the helm station on the bridge deck which also offers a sun deck with dining table, bar, hot tub and sun pads. Interior design throughout is described as modern with materials including bleached oak, carbon fibre and leather.

We are offering a Former German Navy Minesweeper Ship built by Burmester in Germany. In the years from 2000 to 2007 the German Navy spent more than 8 Million Euro in different refits.

The boat operated for the Navy till 2007 when DE-commissioned and sold to a Private Person in 2008. This year she had another extensive technical refit and is now in very good working condition and can go anywhere in the world.
