Pacific Mariner Yachts’ History

Founded in 1996 by the Edson family, Pacific Mariner quickly established itself as a competitive provider of luxury cruising yachts. Pacific Mariner was formed as a custom yacht building company in LaConner, Washington with a commitment to uncompromising quality and workmanship, determined to create exceptional custom yachts with every detail perfectly coordinated to create a harmonious whole. From the very first vessels produced by this enterprising company, the original Pacific Mariner 65 and Pacific Mariner 85, Pacific Mariner has focused on creating exceptional cruising yachts that are true turnkey vessels, delivered completely furnished with linens, flatware, and crystal already on board. That tradition still holds true today, with the latest Pacific Mariner sporting the same attention to detail, even containing a Starbucks Barista coffee pot ready for her owner.

While Jack Edson actually founded the company, Pacific Mariner Yachts’ history could be said to start with his father Orin Edson, the founder of Bayliner Boats, who raised his son with a love of the best quality marine designs. The original Pacific Mariner yachts were designed by renowned naval architect William Garden; while Pacific Mariner is now owned by the megayacht building Westport Yacht Company, the latest models of Pacific Mariner yachts show that same commitment to excellence.

To this day, Pacific Mariner has kept its focus on quality over quantity, building only a limited number of yachts each year. All areas of construction are completed onsite at the factory by skilled craftsmen, from the fiberglass hulls to the exquisite Dovetail accents on the cherry wood cabinetry.
