The guest cabins comprise a primary suite with a king size bed and en-suite bathroom facilities, a cabin with a queen size bed and en-suite bathroom facilities and 4 cabins with a double bed and en-suite bathroom facilities.

The crew will ensure you have a relaxed and enjoyable charter experience with all of your needs catered for while on board.

Experience an occasion reminiscent of yesteryear on this 66 year old classic "little ship". FAITH has proven time and time again her sea worthiness when confronting 80 knot winds and heavy seas, but it is in more tranquil settings that a better appreciation of the ship can be enjoyed. Beautiful lines accentuate the canoe aspects of the hull but the most eye-catching feature is the exquisite woodwork from stem to stern. The Interior FAITH enchants all who experience her. Enjoy an unforgettable adventure in the comfort and safety of FAITH's authentic surroundings. Most of the interior is in its original condition and is of the highest standard. The woodwork including teak, mahogany, and old oak adornments complete the elegance of the era. An inspection of the hatches, and other woodwork reflect an era now long gone. FAITH's Layout The wheelhouse is situated above the engine room. On the lower deck the saloon and galley are forward of the engine room with a shower and head in the forepeak. The accommodation is on the lower deck aft of the engine room. There is a single berth on the port side opening into a companionway which accesses a guest cabin with two single berths, the rear cabin with a double plus single berth, and the bathroom with bath/shower and head. Carpet is fitted throughout. FAITH's decks are of Burmese teak as is her hull; carvel planked with 1.625 inch Burmese teak. Ketch rigged (small rig) Furling headsail. Some changes to FAITH's specifications & structure In the 1960s two 88 h.p. T6 354 Perkins Marine Engines were installed and in the 1980s a major refit was carried out. It was re-powered again in the early 1980s with the current 110 hp 6L3 Gardner.

FAITH was one of the last designs to come off the drawing board of the great Scottish designer Alfred Mylne of Glasgow. In 1935 he was commissioned to design this fine 66 foot motor yacht, to be powered by two Gleniffers engines. Although registered in Falmouth, FAITH was built by A.M.Dickie & Sons in Tarbert Loch Fyne, Scotland. Alfred Mylne, the Designer of FAITH In a career lasting over 50 years Alfred Mylne was known to have produced more than 360 designs ranging from dinghies to steam yachts. Mylne, the son of a successful iron foundry owner, had benefited from the heavy industry of the River Clyde, Glasgow, in the latter half of the 19th century. At the time, the Clyde was the most important shipbuilding area in the world, with at least one new ship being launched every week. Mylne, following his apprenticeship and training in 1892 aged 20 years, joined the Glasgow firm of G.L.Watson, reputed to be the world's greatest yacht designers of the time. Some four years later, Mylne established his own design office, much to G.L.Watson's annoyance. In 1921 the foremost yachting historian of the day Heckstall-Smith made the claim that "Mylne boats were almost all beautiful and hard to beat because they excelled on all points of sail". Best known for his sailing yachts Mylne also designed large powered vessels and motor yachts of up to 200 feet. Mylne's 1930s double-ended designs incorporated fine lines, narrow beams and shallow hull shapes to take into account a chronic shortage of horse power. FAITH's design, being one of Mylne's smaller motor yachts, was assisted by an impressive ketch rig, nowadays significantly reduced. FAITH's Heritage Information about the original owner of FAITH is unsure, but it is known that she was originally built as a pleasure craft for an English gentleman and his family. For the next forty years FAITH's owners kept her at Falmouth on the southwest coast of England close to her summertime haven of the nearby Mediterranean. Lord Shawcross born in 1902, bought FAITH in the early 1960s. Lord Shawcross was the British Chief Prosecutor at the Nuremberg war trials, a member of Parliament for Labour from 1945-1958 and Attorney General from 1945-1951. In the late 1970s Lord Shawcross sold FAITH little knowing she was soon to embark on the journey of her lifetime - a few years later she set sail from Falmouth England, for New Zealand. The new owners ventured across the Atlantic in FAITH in the late 1970s stopping off in Venezuela, where other family members joined them from England. This was their home for over a year. Leaving Venezuela they made their way through the Panama Canal and headed south west across the Pacific to New Zealand. The journey was not without some drama. En route a bent shaft disabled her engines and the ketch rig came into its own - the rest of the journey to Whangarei, New Zealand was by sail only. In New Zealand, FAITH has had three further owners and respectively she has spent her time in Northland - Whangarei and the Bay of Islands, Marlborough Sounds, and more recently in Wellington.

Marlborough Sounds Take time out and explore the magical Marlborough sounds reflecting on its changing moods and scenic beauty. The only way to really experience one of the most profoundly beautiful areas of New Zealand is by sea. We will arrange to collect you from Picton or from other destinations within the area to while your way from bay to bay, sound to sound, for as long as you have time on your side. Over Easter 2000, FAITH mastered the West Coast seas to arrive in Fiordland's mighty Milford Sound to begin an exquisite voyage sailing the depths of Fiordland before arriving at Doubtful Sound. The passengers disembarked at Deep Cove, but FAITH -"a most sea-kindly craft"- completed her circumnavigation of the South Island on her way home to Wellington.
