3 cabins:  a key feature of the prestige 460.

The PRESTIGE 460 features an entirely new layout, offering three cabins and two bathrooms .  This new layout, a rare advantage for a 46-foot Flybridge , affords an additional cabin, all while conserving her comfortable, spacious interior.  The owner’s cabin is moved forward on the boat, offering a large double berth, storage and a large hanging locker, as well as a private bathroom.  The aft section has been redesigned to accommodate two guest cabins, each with two single berths, and a shared bathroom.

When you are shopping for boats that feature sleeping areas, you will want to know the basics.

When looking for a bed or sleeping area on a watercraft, it is often referred to as a “berth”. These can be similarly sized to traditional beds.

These may or may not be featured in their own individual cabins. If you need the privacy of an individual cabin you will want to make sure this is specified that way.

Sleeping is also easier on a multi-hulled vessel because the engines are less likely to be built right into the living space.

There is a berth in the owner’s cabin that comes with an innerspring mattress and an electric lift that can offer comfortable seating for activities such as reading or watching television.

There is an aft cabin berth that features an innerspring mattress as well.

This boat also offers a head that has a hot and cold shower as well as a toilet.

2. Regal Express Cruiser:

The cabin has a lot of natural light thanks to two long windows on the sides of the boat as well as double sliding glass doors to allow easy access into the cabin.

2 Boats That Can Sleep Two:

If you do not need two separate beds but are instead looking for comfortable accommodations for two people that might include a couple, you will have some additional options.

Most boats that feature a cuddy cabin have enough space to sleep, two people.

The cabin featured on the boat has a v-berth as well as amenities. This cabin also is able to be locked to provide the necessary privacy.

This boat offers plenty of storage as well as amenities including a freshwater sink, stowaway portable head with level indicator, and an automatic fire extinguishing system.

8. Bayliner 742 Cuddy:

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Bayliner boats are sleek and high performing boats that really focus on the small details.

Comfortable seating including a folding sun lounge is sure to please any passenger aboard. This vessel also features a co-pilot seat that can extend to form a chaise lounge.

This boat places a high focus on entertaining and includes features such as a cockpit entertainment center with built-in sink. There is also an optional cockpit table.

The cabin features sleeping space for two people with plenty of natural light from the skylights and ventilated portlights.

The deck features plenty of storage, even an in-floor locker for water sports equipment like skis and wakeboards.

You can also swim off the swim platform with telescoping ladder.

Necessary Equipment For Sleeping On The Boat

Simply having a boat that offers sleeping space is not enough. You will also want to make sure that your sleeping areas are comfortable.

This may seem self-explanatory, but you will want to make sure your berths feature clean sheets, warm blankets, and pillows.

Keeping linens and blankets on a boat is different than in a house.

A boat can be compared to a damp basement. When you have blankets in a wet and humid basement, you can get damp blankets that can even become moldy over time.

To combat this, there are a few options you can utilize.

One way to combat damp and musty blankets and linens are to make sure that you do not store them in the boat when you are not using it. Keeping them in a dry house is a great way to prevent this problem entirely.

Making sure that you properly insulate your boat, or even investing in a dehumidifier can do wonders to combat damp and musty conditions.

Another good tip is to dry your blankets and other cushions out if they are wet or damp. You can do this by hanging them up inside the cabin, but is even more effective out in the sun.

You also want to make sure that your mattress itself doesn’t get damp. This can make sleep very uncomfortable.

Keeping your bedding dry at all times is key to having a clean and comfortable bed to fall into at night.

Make Sure To Be Prepared:

In addition to having the proper sleeping equipment, if you plan to spend longer than a few hours on your vessel you will want to make sure you are prepared in other ways as well.

If your boat doesn’t offer private cabins or other private areas, you can purchase a private changing room. These can be as simple as a pop-up changing area. This can be ideal for changing out of a wet swimsuit and into what you plan to sleep in.

You will also need other more practical things. Most of these options came with their own head, but if they didn’t, you will want to invest in one. This can be a simple portable option but will still be easier than possibly having to go to land every time nature calls.

It is also important that you have enough food and water. Water is very important to prevent dehydration while out in the sun. You will want to make sure that you pack enough water for everyone. If there is one thing that should be “over-packed” it should be water.

This is important for your health as well as your thirst.

You will also need food if you plan on traveling to a place where stopping somewhere for food is not a feasible option.

You also want to be prepared for the weather. Make sure you have the proper clothing for any weather occasion. Even on a warm summer day, nights can get cold out on the water. Make sure you have the proper long clothes and blankets.

Things like sunscreen and bug spray can also be life-saving while out on the water all day and night.

You will also want a flashlight for when it gets dark out. This will not only prevent you from waking the other passengers up but can help you save your boat battery from potential overuse.

Finally, emergency equipment should always be featured on your vessel. This includes a fire extinguisher, life jackets for every passenger, flares, and emergency contact channels including phones and radios.

If you are properly prepared, you can have a fun and stress-free experience while out on the water.

ABBRACCI is a perfect example of the quality, flexibility, and durability of Heesen’s designs. As you enter the 1100-square foot owner’s suite, you first encounter a private office with a sofa and television. It’s not only a quiet place to work, but creates a buffer between the main deck foyer and the master stateroom.

The owner’s suite onboard this 180-foot Heesen is stunning; it uses the full 33-foot beam to create a vast, circular stateroom. The room is laid out around a forward-facing king berth. Natural light floods the room, and the large windows slide open so that you can enjoy the ocean breeze. VIATORIS | 133’ Conrad 2018

VIATORIS won the 2019 World Superyacht Award and you can see why as you tour the elegant interior. The entire forward section of the main deck is dedicated to the owner’s suite, which is finished with warm oak and rosewood.

The custom-designed master stateroom onboard this 133-foot Conrad features a centerline king berth, his and her ensuite bathroom, walk-in closet with a vanity, and an owner’s office space. Port and starboard folding balconies open up the room so that you can enjoy the ocean breeze. Breakfast in bed? Yes, please.

Numarine 37XP

You might need to pick your jaw up off the floor after seeing the owner’s accommodation on the Numarine 37XP . We have to specify that it’s the owner’s cabin because there is a separate master stateroom that’s equally as grand, minus a few features.

The full-beam owner’s stateroom on the Numarine 37XP is on the upper deck. The king-size bed faces aft to look out sliding glass doors with a view of the water. Heavy packers don’t have to worry about stealing closet space from their partner — a lengthy wardrobe has plenty of storage space for shoes and clothes. The same goes for the equally impressive sink and counter space in the ensuite bathroom. Other small but notable amenities in the owner’s stateroom include a minibar, safe, and dumb waiter.

CRESCENT LADY | 117’ Crescent 2020

The interior of CRESCENT LADY is seriously impressive as it’s a Gregory C. Marchall design . This yacht boasts a dark and moody interior that matches her Seattle home. The full-beam master stateroom features clean and contemporary styling with a walk-around king-size bed, a large walk-in wardrobe, and an ensuite bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub.

The master stateroom on this Crescent 117 also hosts a desk and vanity on the port side, plus a love seat below the starboard window. The simple, dark color scheme creates a cozy and intimate setting to relax after a day on the water.

Alpha Spritz 102

Alpha Custom Yachts thought of every last detail when designing the full-beam master stateroom on the Spritz 102 . It’s the forward most cabin on the lower deck and boasts a king-size bed, walk-in closet, desk area, lounge seating, ensuite bathroom, and plenty of storage. The hull windows are low to the water and provide plenty of natural light to create a comfortable space to relax.

The Spritz 102 is outfitted with floating walls, floors, and ceilings that are designed with insulation to reduce noise and vibrations so you can enjoy a quiet ride. One particular benefit to the floating floor configuration is the drain system (which can get a bit smelly on some older boats). Alpha Custom Yachts designed a drain system so that none of the odors from the bilge or rainwater tank permeate through the drainage system of the boat. You never have to worry about any unusual smells — a specific yet game-changing detail in the master stateroom.

A yacht is really just a luxury floating home . When you’re talking 70 feet and larger, they’re a lot nicer than my house. As you’ll see in the luxury yacht interiors below, the quality and aesthetics are simply gorgeous. And we merely feature a small handful of such boats. There are thousands and thousands of these worldwide.

Yacht Primary Bedrooms (Staterooms)

We kick off our yacht interiors gallery with the stateroom. When it comes to the primary bedroom on these boats, no expense is spared. They are large, comfortable and stunning in design. These bedrooms are bigger than our primary bedroom.

Yacht Guest Bedrooms (2 Beds)

Many guest bedrooms on a yacht have two beds so that it can accommodate more people. However, they are, as you’ll see below, still very, very luxurious. These are certainly cozy sleeping quarters.

Salon and Dinette Photos

My favorite room on the boat is the salon and/or dinette area. In many cases, the dinette doubles as the living room. Mega yachts have dedicated salons and dining areas. I love these superb lounge designs below in the cabin as well as the upper lounge areas.

I must admit that kitchens on these super yachts are fairly small. I guess the cooking is done by the staff and yacht owners prefer to have more space for bedrooms, deck space and lounge space. That makes sense given there really is limited space. Nevertheless, these kitchens are gorgeous and the yacht designers certainly didn’t skimp with respect to quality.

Most boats dedicate very little space to bathrooms. Not these. The primary bathrooms below are incredible. The smaller bathrooms are guest bathrooms. These luxury yachts are so large and spacious that even the bathrooms are both beautiful and comfortable to use.

How Much Does It Cost To Buy A Yacht?

If you're new to owning a boat and want to experience the luxury lifestyle, buying a yacht is the perfect way to indulge yourself while also creating unforgettable memories on the water. From anchoring at a secluded island in the Caribbean to cruising the coastline enjoying the fall colors, yacht ownership opens up limitless possibilities to explore the beauty of Mother Nature. It can also create quite the adrenaline rush if a sportfishing boat is more your style. There are many benefits to hiring a professional yacht broker when you plan on buying your first yacht including having someone on your side when evaluating the right price, for the right vessel.

So how much does it cost to buy a yacht on average? In 2021, the average selling price of a yacht is approximately $640,000, with prices ranging from $300,000 to over $15,000,000. This average selling price represents all pre-owned boats from 40-feet to 100-feet, power (not sail), and sold in the Southeastern United States, including the large Florida market. The data collected for this sales price was from the boating industry's MLS system.

This 50-foot flybridge yacht (seen below) was sold around the average selling price mentioned above and is a good example of what you can expect when spending over $500k . It features several bedrooms for overnight trips, a galley, a nice flybridge seating area, and a lot of comforts you would find at home.

A yacht can mean vastly different things to different people depending on their style of boating, where they live, what they plan to do on the boat, and the amount of equipment they choose. A 50-foot yacht can vary in price by several hundred thousand dollars depending on how new it is, its engines, brand, and amenities. Having a conversation about your needs and budget with a professional yacht broker can answer all of these questions and take the guesswork out of your search. 

While the average price of a yacht sold in the Southeast this year is $640,000, buyers can find yachts for less if they are willing to go a bit older and/or a bit smaller.

• According to the list of 2021 sold boats, the average selling price for yachts between 40 and 50 feet was $329,000.
• Yachts under 40 feet are generally called cruising boats and can still feature a lot of the same amenities found on larger vessels.
• How much does a small yacht cost? Examples of active boats on the market right now show a sizeable difference in price depending on the length and year. For example, a 2021 40-foot Intrepid boat is listed for over $800,000 , while a 2011 Intrepid 40 is listed for under $400,000 .

The larger, newer, and more extravagant yachts can cost $5 million and higher. Forbes.com identifies a superyacht as a vessel ranging from "79 feet to more than 590 feet in length." The average selling price in 2021 for yachts over 100-feet, according to the industry MLS database, came in at just under $1 million. Of course, there were several superyachts that were between $10 million and $50 million on the list.

A prime example of a superyacht would be " ANTITHESIS ", a Horizon Yachts 136 that had an asking price of $7,990,000 at the time of sale. This superyacht featured 5 luxury staterooms, a pilothouse with full electronics suite, a jacuzzi, sauna, 2 water-makers, 2 generators, and a lot more top-end equipment. Yacht owners looking to cruise long distances or possibly turn the vessel into a yacht charter business would be interested in a boat of this stature.

The cost of a yacht is not the only cost to consider. Purchasing your new boat is the largest upfront expense, however, there are also the costs of owning a yacht that need to be considered. This is again where hiring an experienced, professional yacht broker can really pay dividends and take a lot of the stress out of the process. Things like insurance, storage, routine maintenance, captain and crew salaries, all need to be factored in to your expectations. Despite the potentially high cost of yacht ownership, it is still an excellent investment in your well-being and will bring countless joyful memories. There is no other recreation in the world that brings families and friends together, while enjoying the wonders of the ocean.

While the purchase of sailboats still account for less than 10% of all boats sold, sailing is still a popular past-time which has some very passionate enthusiasts. According to Trade Only Today , in 2019 and 2020 there were more than 1,100 sailboats sold in the United States. As you begin to figure out exactly what type of boating you want to enjoy, as well to learn the advantages and disadvantages of different boat types, you can begin to narrow down the selection process.

Below is the average cost to purchase a small yacht broken out by type :

• Sailboats Over 40': $193,000
• Sailing Catamarans - All Sizes: $361,000
• Power Catamarans - All Sizes: $304,247
• Downeast Yachts - Over 35': $532,240
• Sport Fishing Yachts - Over 40' and in Southeast: $815,500

With so many factors to determine how much it costs to buy a yacht and maintain it, it is in the best interest of boat buyers of this magnitude to speak with a certified professional yacht broker. "Pricing a yacht in this market can be a difficult thing," said Brian T. Franc , CPYB and manager of United's Emerald Coast Division. "Pre-owned prices are definitely inflated due to lack of inventory, but there are still some great opportunities if you are fast and have someone watching the market daily on your behalf.
