Wonderful time….

We had a wonderful experience sailing to Paxos and the surrounding coves etc. A simply stunning way to celebrate a friends 50th Birthday. The facilities on board were perfect, coupled with a friendly and attentive crew. I would 100% look forward to doing the same again one day soon !

Br illiant luxury boat day trip

We booked the Sea Kid for a full day. Brilliant quick response to our initial enquiry, and then seamless booking experience. Was no trouble to collect us from our nearest harbour. We were greeted by George and Angel who looked after us amazingly well all day. 

Supplied drinks and snacks and on our various lovely stops during the day got us organised with SUPs and sea bobs even booked and organised a lovely taverna for a lunch stop. The Sea Kid was a perfect boat for our group size of 8 including 4 large boys ! It had loads of space for everyone and a very cool looking boat to boot. Wouldn’t hesitate to Recommend

First class service on a luxury catamaran!

We chartered the NISI gtx55 catamaran yacht for a group of 15 friends and it was absolutely amazing. We decided to do a 4 hour sunset trip which took us to two different swimming spots and a nice view of the sun setting.

The staff were simply amazing and the boat was super nice. Everyone on board raved about how it was the highlight of our weeklong trip!

The island also serves as an ideal charter base due to its strategic location and well-equipped marinas . Its proximity to the rest of the stunning Ionian Islands, as well as popular Greek mainland spots, makes it a perfect starting point for unforgettable sailing adventures .

Our yacht charter base on the island of Corfu is perfect for exploring the surrounding area and for trips further south to other popular islands including Lefkas , Kefalonia and Zakynthos as well as many more smaller islands in between. We are happy to suggest itineraries, but you are free to choose which islands you visit and which route you take. Corfu is easy to get to with charter flights from many European countries flying directly to the island .

Our fleet in Corfu is located at Gouvia Marina with plenty of shopping and dining selections and the option to spend a few days exploring the historic town of Corfu before or after your charter.

Our boats in Corfu are available for both skippered and bareboat rentals and include a wide variety of our most popular sailing yachts and catamarans . Special charter arrangements are available including single day trips for sightseeing and rentals for special events including company excursions, weddings and honeymoon trips.

Arriving at Gouvia Marina

Gouvia Marina is located on the east side of the island and just 7kms from the Corfu airport where charter flights arrive. The marina is a short 15 minute taxi ride from the airport arrivals exit. Public transport options are also available.

If you are arriving as a group, we are happy to organise a private transfer for you from the airport by minibus with our reliable partners, simply let us know the details of your arrival and we will advise accordingly.

Sailing Itineraries from Corfu

With a one-week yacht charter , you will typically sail along the coast of Corfu and potentially down to Lefkas . As you sail towards Lefkas, you'll pass by charming mainland ports like Syvota and Parga , which offer a unique blend of coastal beauty and Greek hospitality. Along the way you will also be able to make stops at the mesmerizing islands of Paxoi and Antipaxoi .

With a two-week charter , you can certainly extend your journey to include Lefkas and also potentially further south to the well-known islands of Kefalonia and Zakynthos which boast an abundance of activities and sights to visit. In between Lefkas and Kefalonia, you'll find several smaller islands worth visiting, including the legendary Ithaki , as well as the charming islands of Kalamos and Kastos . Day 1: Gouvia Marina to Agios Stefanos Bay (15 NM, 3 hours)

Begin your sailing adventure by embarking from Gouvia Marina and setting sail towards the picturesque Agios Stefanos Bay on the northwestern coast of Corfu, covering about 15 nautical miles in approximately 3 hours. You will enjoy the breathtaking views of the Corfu coastline and the Ionian Sea along the way. Anchor in the sheltered bay for the night and explore the charming village of Agios Stefanos , known for its traditional tavernas and beautiful beaches.

Day 2: Agios Stefanos to Petriti Bay (25 NM, 5 hours)

Set sail from Agios Stefanos towards Petriti Bay on the southeastern coast of Corfu, covering 25 nautical miles in around 5 hours. Along the way, you'll pass picturesque fishing villages . lush green hills and plenty of spots to stop for a swim. Upon arrival in Petriti Bay, enjoy the serene atmosphere and crystal-clear waters . Visit the local tavernas, offering fresh seafood and traditional Greek dishes. Anchor for the night and enjoy the tranquility of this beautiful bay.

Day 3: Petriti Bay to Syvota (15 NM, 3 hours)

Depart from Petriti Bay and head towards the bustling mainland town of Syvota , a journey of 15 nautical miles that should take around 3 hours. Syvota is a popular destination with beautiful beaches and coves , surrounded by green hills and olive groves. Explore the lively waterfront, visit local shops, and dine at the numerous waterfront tavernas. Anchor at the marina for the night , taking in the vibrant atmosphere.

Day 4: Syvota to Lakka Bay (20 NM, 4 hours)

Leave Syvota Marina behind and sail towards the idyllic Lakka Bay on the northern tip of Paxoi Island . Covering 20 nautical miles in about 4 hours, you'll navigate through stunning turquoise waters and pass by small, picturesque islets. Lakka Bay is known for its crystal-clear waters and vibrant waterfront . Anchor in the bay, explore the village, and sample local cuisine at the tavernas.

Day 5: Lakka Bay to Gaios Port (9 NM, 2 hours)

Set sail from Lakka Bay to Gaios Port on the southern end of Paxoi Island , a short journey of 9 nautical miles that should take around 2 hours. Gaios is a charming port town with a rich history and stunning Venetian architecture . Wander through the narrow streets, visit the local shops, and enjoy the lively atmosphere at the waterfront bars and restaurants. Anchor in the port for the night.

Day 6: Gaios Port to Parga (25 NM, 5 hours)

Leave Gaios Port and head towards the mainland, arriving at Parga after a 25-nautical-mile sail that takes about 5 hours. Parga is a picturesque town with a rich history, dominated by the impressive Venetian Castle . Anchor in the bay near the castle, and take a sea taxi ashore to explore the cobbled streets, vibrant waterfront, and historical sites. Don't forget to visit the castle itself for panoramic views of the Ionian Sea .

Day 7: Parga to Garitsa Bay and Gouvia Marina (35 NM, 7 hours)

On the final day of your sailing adventure, set sail from Parga towards Garitsa Bay , located near the historic Corfu Castle . Covering 35 nautical miles in approximately 7 hours. Be sure to get started early to allow time for swimming stops along the southern coast of Corfu as you make your way back to Gouvia Marina for disembarkation.

Die Marina Gouvia auf Korfu ist der ideale Ausgangspunkt für einen Segeltörn ins Ionische Meer. Die Geschichte von der Marina Gouvia

Die Marina Gouvia war der erste private Yachthafen in Griechenland und zählt zu einem der berühmtesten Jachthafen der Welt. Im frühen 17. Jahrhundert nutzen die Venezianer den Natur Hafen, in dem die Marina Gouvia liegt als Ausgangspunkt für Forschungs- und Handelsreisen.  Nach einem Eigentümerwechsel wurde sie komplett modernisiert. Die Marina Gouvia befindet sich am südlichen Ende des kleinen Fischerdorfes Kontokali und ist 7 km von der Stadt Korfu und dem internationalen Flughafen entfernt. Der Yachthafen liegt in Mitten der Ionischen Inseln in unmittelbarer Nähe von Paxos, und der diapontischen Insel Syvota, am Tor der Adria.

WLAN steht im gesamten Yachthafen zur Verfügung. Die Prepaid-Karten sind an der Rezeption käuflich. Im Verwaltungsgebäude sind voll ausgestattete Seminarräume und Arbeitsplätze zu finden.

Sicherheit & Hafenpolizei:

Die Eingänge zum Yachthafen, werden von einer privaten Sicherheitsfirma, 24-Stunden lang überwacht. Auch gibt es eine ständige Überwachung durch Sicherheitskameras. Das Personal der Marina läuft regelmäßige Patrouillen rund um die Steganlagen. Steigleitern und Rettungsringe sind in kurzen Entfernungen aller Pontons entfernt. Die Hafenpolizei befindet sich im öffentlichen Dienstgebäude.

Parkplatz - Parken an der Marina Gouvia:

Parkplätze für PKW und Anhänger sind kostenlos für die Gäste der Marina. Parken ist nur an den ausgewiesenen Bereichen erlaubt ist und nicht auf dem Kai gestattet. Die Marina ist nicht für den Verlust oder Diebstahl von Gegenständen aus geparkten Fahrzeugen verantwortlich.

Kaffees zum Verweilen, gemütliche Tavernen und auch Läden und Boutiquen gibt es in Korfu Stadt mehr als genug. Sehr lecker ist die griechische Küche, die da auf Korfu mit italienischen Einflüssen aufwartet.

Müllentsorgung:

Dies bedeutet, dass eine große Auswahl an Bars und Tavernen vorstanden ist und bietet eine grosse  Auswahl für  seine Besucher.

Die Reste des venezianischen Arsenals sind am Rande des Wassers zu sehen ist, es war ein ausgezeichneter Hafen für seine Schiffe,damals in alte Zeiten.  Ein Flugzeughangar über die Bucht erinnert daran, dass in der neueren Zeit fliegende Boote hier gestoppt haben.

Gegenüber Gouvia ist die Halbinsel von Kommeno, mit einer kleinen weißgetünchten Kirche,sie wird  durch einen Damm erreicht . Einige der schönsten Villen von Korfu sind hier, sie erblicken unter den Bäumen . Ebenfalls kann man eine der vielen Bootsfahrten genießen – ein Merkmal dieses Teils der Insel.

Seine Lage macht Gouvia zu einem ausgezeichneten Zentrum für die Erkundung des nördlichen Teils von Korfu, während nur eine kurze Busfahrt zur schöhnen Altstadt von Korfu selbst führt.

When should I travel to Corfu?

The Mediterranean climate makes Corfu a year-round destination, with each season offering a unique mix of relaxation, adventure and cultural interests.

The high season (June to September) is hot and busy, and the island’s tourist machine runs at full speed, with holidaymakers flocking to Corfu in the hundreds of thousands. Spring and autumn are quieter, the weather is pleasantly warm, and prices are reasonable. While winters can be rainy, a visitor can experience the island’s true colors, interact with the locals, and enjoy a truly authentic Greek experience.

Easter, in particular, is the best time to visit for an extraordinary cultural experience. A week of sanctity and devoutness is followed by the triumphant mayhem of church bells and clay pots thrown from balconies and breaking on the alleys’ cobblestones below. A thunderous cannonade from the fort is mixed with the sublime music of the island’s 18 – no less – philharmonic orchestras, creating an overwhelming atmosphere and celebrating the triumph of life over death.

The local carnival celebrations in February resemble those of Venice, attracting large crowds, and are a perfect opportunity for partying and all-out reveling.

How much time should I spend on Corfu?

Visitors are guaranteed a rewarding stay, whether it is for a long weekend or a full two-week vacation. The Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the perfect base if your time is limited. Here, you can lose yourself in the spectacular alleyways and piazzas, admire the unique architectural blend, visit the numerous museums, savor local fare in small, elegant restaurants, and join the fun of the vibrant nightlife.

For a longer stay, the island's lush nature and world-class beaches offer a variety of different things to do, ranging from outright relaxation to highly charged adventure.

Is it easy to get to and around Corfu?

Ioannis Kapodistrias is Corfu’s international airport (named after the first governor of Greece who was born on the island), and there are many daily flights to and from Athens , all year round. During the tourist season, a continuous stream of chartered flights makes the airport one of the busiest in the country.

There are daily ferry connections between Corfu and Igoumenitsa on the mainland and, during the summer months, the Italian cities of Brindisi, Bari and Angona. There are multiple daily connections to the other Ionian islands and Saranda , Albania .

The public transport is excellent. City buses (blue) and intercity KTEL (green) reach even the most remote villages and beaches of the island, with extra services during the peak months.

Plenty of taxis offer a more flexible and comfortable, but pricey, means of transport. However, as in many large island destinations, the best way to experience Corfu is to hire a car; plenty of quality rental companies operate on the island.

Top things to do on Corfu

There are a few unmissable sights, even if you plan to stay on Corfu for a few days.

• Even on the shortest stay on the island, make time for a stroll in the labyrinthine kantounia (alleys) of the Old Town. Stop for a leisurely coffee or a delicious kumquat liquer, made with the celebrated local "golden orange," along the Liston, the magnificent pedestrian arcade located on Greece’s largest public square, the Spianada .
• Achilleion Palace is a majestic building once home to Empress Elisabeth of Austria (Sissy) and Kaiser Wilhelm II. Although the interior is undergoing restoration and is closed to the public, its marvelous gardens and panoramic views of the town and the island are well worth a visit.
• Wander  the Old Fortress (Palaio Frourio) , a magnificent Venetian construction built on a rocky peninsula — the old Byzantine capital’s site — that dominates the eastern part of the Old Town.
• For nature-loving and adventurous types, the Corfu Trail is a more than 200km (124-mile) route crossing the entire island from south to north. It passes through villages both inland and on the coast, where intrepid trekkers wishing to complete the trail can refuel and rest overnight. For those with less time or stamina, though, any part of the trail is a rewarding acquaintance with the island’s pristine nature.
• Corfu’s 217km (135-mile) coastline boasts countless stunning beaches, and it is impossible to visit them all during a single stay. There is a perfect match for every taste and preference, ranging from long sandy stretches to tiny pebbly bays and overcrowded cosmopolitan spots to deserted coves. The beaches nearby Palaiokastritsa, Benitses, Sidari and Porto Timoni, Agios Georgios Pagon, and Ipsos are just some of the island's best beaches.
• Romantic souls will absolutely adore the Canal d'amour, a psammite fjord with a wonderful, tiny beach. Legend has it that couples who swim in the canal stay in love forever. Bring a diving mask with a snorkel and arrive early in the morning to secure a spot on the beach.

My favorite thing to do on Corfu

The highlight of my Corfu vacation is taking a cruise to some of the island's most beautiful and remote corners. Especially during the summer, the island’s superb beaches can get extremely busy, so hiring a private small boat (no need for a professional license) is the ultimate escape from the crowds.

There are dozens of otherwise inaccessible bays and secluded small beaches, especially along the northeastern coast between Kalami and Kasiopi, and a day out there in the vast blueness with the bright sky above and the crystalline Ionian sea beneath is a treat for the senses.

What local foods should I try?

Corfu cuisine boasts several mouthwatering recipes that visitors can savor exclusively on the island. Top among them are sofrito , a garlicky veal dish cooked in wine; pastitsadha , local pasta with chicken or beef seasoned with myriad spices; and bourdeto , fish cooked in a red spicy sauce.

What's the best day trip from Corfu?

Unspoiled by tourism may sound like a meaningless cliché, but the three remote Diapontia islands of Othoni, Erikousa and Mathraki on the northernmost corner of Greece have been unduly overlooked by travel guides and visitors. Serene sandy beaches, small villages and tranquil footpaths render the islands the perfect getaway from the bustling crowds. There are regular daily connections by ferry, caïque and private mini-cruise.

How much money do I need for Corfu?

As in every other hugely popular destination, accommodations and service prices tend to peak during the busy months. However, Corfu offers choices for every budget, from backpackers to high-end travelers.

Public transport is very affordable, and there are plenty of casual local tavernas that won’t break the budget. Of course, the sky is the limit for those who want and can enjoy a luxurious stay with every possible desire catered for. Here is a guideline to daily costs in Corfu.

When you look at the map, you’ll see many villages and towns in Corfu, but which ones are worth visiting?

I wondered the same before going to Corfu!

After spending some time on the island, I can tell you that some places are only day trip destinations, while others you should consider staying in.

From quaint mountain villages to seafront fishing villages, there are over 20 towns and villages in Corfu! If you have a car, you can easily hop from one to another, but relying on public transport might leave you stranded in some areas.

Let’s find out where to go in Corfu, with the selection of the best villages and towns in Corfu Island!

Best Corfu Towns And Villages

Before coming to Corfu, I was wondering where to go in Corfu and where is lively. 

I always find it complicated to find the advice that applies to me because by lively I don’t mean wild nightlife in Kavos with 19-year-old college students. 

Also, while I can certainly see the appeal of staying in remote villages and traditional houses, that’s not my idea of summer vacation just yet.

I saw accommodation options throughout the island, but I didn’t want to end up somewhere where I would be the only person walking around at night – regardless of the safety in Corfu .

Sure, I could always drive since I rented a car in Corfu . However, I like to walk around the village I’m staying at, enjoy the lively atmosphere, and see locals gathering in tavernas and bars.

Depending on how many days in Corfu you have, you can even stay in several different Corfu villages.

If you’re the same, here are the best towns in Corfu to visit!

1. Corfu Town

Corfu Town, or Kerkyra, is the main town of Corfu. It is also the biggest and the liveliest place on the island.

I’d go that far to say that Corfu Town is the most beautiful town in Corfu, with its UNESCO World Heritage Old Town , colorful Venetian-style houses, and charming cobblestone streets.

Corfu Town also has the most things to do, from sightseeing, nightlife, and restaurants, to going on day trips from Corfu Town by public transport. 

The main downside of Corfu Town is the lack of beaches. 

If you’re coming to Corfu for the beaches, Corfu Town is not the best place to stay. While there are some beaches in the city, they are not nearly as nice as other beaches throughout the island.

• Mid-range Option: The Monastery Apartment

To be honest, Sidari is not the prettiest village on the island. In fact, it looks a lot like a regular seafront village, with modern-looking houses and restaurants.

However, Sidari is ideally located to explore some of the main tourist attractions in Corfu !

Firstly, you have Canal d’Amour in the heart of Sidari and Cape Drastis and Loggas Beach, some of the most impressive landscapes on the island, just a short drive from the city.

Next up, it is just a short drive from Old Perithia, Kassiopi, Porto Timoni, and Paleokastritsa. 

I spent two nights in Sidari and was pleasantly surprised by how lively this town was. Also, it was quite affordable compared to prices in Corfu Town.

Generally, it is one of the best places to stay in Corfu if you have a car!

• Budget-Friendly Option: Jasmine Apartments (I stayed here! Basic, but great if you’re on a budget!)
• Mid-range Option: Del Mare Beach Hotel
• TOP Pick: Akron Seascape Resort

3. Kassiopi

Kassiopi is one of my favorite Corfu fishing villages. It is one of the most picturesque villages along the northern coastline, and it reminds me of fishing villages in the Cyclades.

If you like history, you can visit the remains of the Venetian fortress. Otherwise, stroll the cobblestone streets, grab a drink or a dish in one of the seafront tavernas, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of this seafront village.

There are several beaches in Kassiopi. However, they are pebbled coves compared to the long sandy beaches in the south of Corfu.

4. Paleokastrista (Lakones and Liapades)

When it comes to the Paleokastrista area , I am giving you several options, but they are all very close to each other.

Paleokastrista is the best known, but Lakons and Liapades might be more picturesque, with traditional stone houses and cobblestone streets.

While Paleokastrista is a seafront village, the other two are mountain villages with a stunning view over the coastline.

Also, all three villages are connected by a hiking trail if you’re up for an active day in Corfu!

5. benitses.

If you want to stay in a lively town close to Corfu Town, which is also quite charming to explore, Benitses is the one to go for!

I spent a couple of hours exploring this small town south of Corfu Town, and I quite liked it!

Benitses is a popular tourist town with plenty of accommodation options, restaurants, and bars. It used to be one of the original Corfu fishing villages, so you’ll be spoilt for choice with restaurants.

Still, if you move away from the coastline, you’ll get to discover winding cobblestone streets, old stone houses decorated with colorful flowers, and a lovely central square.

• Mid-range Option: La Soffitta
• TOP Pick: Angsana Corfu Resort & Spa

If you’re looking for lively places in Corfu, it doesn’t get much livelier than Kavos in high season. Maybe even too much for some travelers.

Kavos is the main party town in Corfu . As the high season rolls around, the clubs and bars are open until the early morning hours, with young holidaymakers wandering the streets, drinking, and dancing. 

If I lost some of you who are no longer 21, stay with me!

Kavos is not just a party town. It is home to several nice resorts, many delicious restaurants, and local tavernas.

Also, it is quite calm in the shoulder season! I visited Corfu in May and stayed in a fantastic hotel with a buffet breakfast included for a fraction of the price of places in Corfu Town.

Where To Stay In Kavos?

• Budget-Friendly Option: Secreta Vista
• Mid-range Option: Sirocco Hotel
• TOP Pick: Ekati Mare Boutique Resort (I stayed here and it was fantastic!)

7. Agios Gordios

If you come to Corfu for the beaches, look no further than Agios Gordios. The long sandy beach of Agios Gordios is perfect for a summer holiday. 

Agios Gordios is connected to Corfu Town by a frequent local bus, and it is close to Pelekas, the Byzantine Fortress of Gardiki, and The Achilleion Palace for day trips. 

While I think Agios Gordios is a great place to stay, I don’t think you necessarily need to visit the village if you’re not staying there. It is not as authentic as others on this list, and it is mainly 

This seafront village is also Corfu backpacking hotspot, as it is home to the most popular hostel on the island!

8. Lefkimmi

If you want to stay in the south of the island, but not in Kavos, Lefkimmi is the place for you.

I visited Lefkimmi without really expecting much, and I was surprised nobody talked about it! Lefimmi is one of the biggest towns in Corfu, even though it doesn’t feel like it.

I liked walking along the canal, admiring the colorful boats docked in the water. The canal is lined with bars and restaurants and makes for a nice place to relax at night.

As you stroll the streets of the village, you’ll get to see traditional stone houses, several churches, and a charming main square.

Lefkimi is also a starting point for many boat tours from Corfu to Paxos and other southern destinations.

Where To Stay In Lefkimmi?

• Budget-Friendly Option: Ina’s Apartments
• Mid-range Option:  Archontiko ”Danae”
• TOP Pick: Inalia Modern House

Finally, we have Ipsos, a coastal town north of Corfu Town, popular with holidaymakers spending their summer in Corfu.

I stayed near Ipsos and went there for a swim and a drink at night, and I was surprised at how lively it was.

Now, I don’t think Ipsos is one of the nicest towns in Corfu when it comes to its aesthetic appeal. You won’t find charming cobblestone streets here, as most of the town is houses along the coastline.

However, it is one of the most lively places in Corfu, with many restaurants, beach clubs, and bars to keep you entertained during your stay. 

Ipsos is also just a short drive from Corfu Town if you want more city vibes, even if you didn’t rent a car in Corfu !

• Mid-range Option: Senses Suites

Other Corfu Villages To Visit

Now that you know which Corfu towns and villages to consider when deciding where to stay in Corfu, let’s explore more picturesque villages that are perfect for a day trip.

These are much smaller than the places on the first list and fun to visit during the day, but they were a bit too quiet for my liking to consider staying there.

However, if your idea of a perfect holiday is going completely off-grid and you don’t care about the tourist amenities, most of these could work! 

Maybe not Old Perithia, as it is an abandoned village, and I don’t think you can book anything there.

10. Old Perithia

Old Perithia is a place you should visit, but only for a couple of hours. 

This oldest continuously inhabited village in Corfu is one of the most unique places on the island.

Today it is deserted most of the year. However, the village is being revived, with old stone houses renovated and brought back to life.

Old Perithia is a popular Corfu day trip, and I really enjoyed walking on the ancient stone paths around historic houses.

You’ll also find a couple of tavernas in the village serving traditional dishes during the tourist season.

11. Chlomos

Chlomos is a village in the south of the island, also known as the village of the artists and one of the prettiest villages in Corfu.

Just like Old Perithia, it is quite an uphill journey to reach this village! 

I spent a couple of hours strolling around the village, and it was rather cute. I liked the cobblestone streets, colorful houses, and the stunning view of the island!

It reminded me of the hilltop villages like Motovun and Grožnjan we have in Istria, Croatia !

However, as the village is quite remote, and you need a car to reach it, it wouldn’t be my first choice of places to stay.

12. Afionas

Most people visit Afionas on the way to Porto Timoni, Corfu’s iconic double bay beach. 

While you could stay in Afionas if you like to be away from the crowds, I think most adventure travelers can see everything in a couple of hours.

The village is small, with several cobblestone streets and typical stone houses decorated with colorful flowers. I found Afionas rather cute, and the village was easy to reach compared to Chlomos and Old Perithia. 

The most popular thing to do here is the hike to Porto Timoni beach, but you can also grab a drink or a meal in one of the local tavernas with stunning sea views.

13. Pelekas

This small village is best known as the place where you’ll find Kaiser’s Throne – one of Corfu’s best viewpoints. 

It is one of the most centrally located villages, so you get an unobstructed view of the whole island! 

This mountain village features typical colorful houses lined with vibrant bougainvillea trees and several local tavernas.

Pelekas is a fantastic day trip destination, especially if you want to watch the sunset over Corfu . Also, it is right next to one of the most popular beaches – Glyfadas Beach.

Out of all the places on this second part of the list, Pelekas is the one I would consider staying at if you have a car.

Final Thoughts: Villages And Towns In Corfu

Corfu is a fantastic island, with so many towns and quaint villages to discover. 

While you should visit some on a day trip, like Chlomos and Old Perithia, others are also great places to stay in Corfu . 

It’s hard to pick my favorite places in Corfu, from Corfu Town, if you prefer bigger towns, to Sidari, Agios Gordios, Benitses, and Kassiopi.

Each has that Greek island coastal atmosphere, stunning beaches, delicious local tavernas, and plenty of things to do!

Hi Natali, I have been reading your travel blogs from few days as we are planning to travel to Greece in few weeks. But I am really confused and looking for a reliable advice as which island is preferable to stay with 2 small kids less than 10 years. We have already been planning to stay in Athens & Santorini but want to explore one more island with kids.

I believe weather would still be cold in April so exploring beaches with kids wouldn’t be recommended. So where to go and what to do is big mystery for us. 🙂

If you’re going to Athens and Santorini, I would pick another island in the Cyclades. I don’t have kids, but Naxos is popular with families as it has many sandy beaches with shallow water. However, you’re right about water in April, it is not yet swimmable but they might enjoy playing in the sand! Also, there are several archaeological sites and hiking trails on the island that kids might enjoy exploring.
