Anyone else unhappy with Neel Trimarans?
Posts: 9. Re: Anyone else unhappy with Neel Trimarans? Hi I am a neel owner (n18). So far I am very happy with the boat. Because of all the bad talk about the neel Quality I had my boat checked by a profesionel sailor. So far we have not found a significant problem (a couple of minor things that we fixed or improved).

Neel Trimarans have received a lot of criticism on the net.. I think some of it quite harsh The 47 at the boat show was rushed out to make it on time - probably not the first time this happens to manufacturers. The 45 that caused a huge discussion had a jet ski fitted on its transom I believe so pretty sure overloading the boat that much will cause problems!!

Neel 43 review: re-birth of the cruising trimaran
Verdict. vIt seems strange that the solid-wing (solid-deck) trimaran has taken so long to reappear in the mainstream. The success of the Neels, from the 43 up to the truly massive 65, suggests that the world has been ready for something like this for a while. Like a cruising catamaran, the Neel offers a lot room.

The concept of the Neel 52 remains the same, using the hulls of a fast racing trimaran with narrow waterline beam, as a platform for expansive four- to six-cabin accommodation.
Neel trimaran failure
Dragonfly trimarans are eye wateringly expensive for their size, but they don't break, so it can be done. For comparison the Lagoon 45 (the one that breaks its bulkheads) weighs in at 15 tonnes and the main bulkheads are a spindly 12mm thick. The Dragonfly 920 is 2.2 tonnes and the main bulkhead is 50mm thick.

Having sailed twice on both Neel 45 N°1 and N°10 ( 2012 and 2015 if i recall ) from Martinique, I can tell you that there are not so many visible finishing issues on theses yachts. N°1 have a bit of humidity on port float. N°10 is looking better inside and i haven't spot any noticable flaw during my charters.
