Oceanco claims Seven Seas also offers “outstanding performance and seakeeping ability.” The folks at Lateral Naval Architects carried out an extensive optimization process to ensure the 4,444 GT cruiser excels in all areas, and even partnered with Oceanco to develop the propulsion system. Seven Seas is powered by twin MTU 20V 4000 M73L diesel engines that can produce 4,813 hp each and propel the vessel to 20 knots. She is also the first LY3-compliant yacht (the British government’s classification for big commercial craft), to feature a marine evacuation system, according to Oceanco. Such systems make it easy and quick for you to slide into a lifeboat should an emergency situation arise.
The original Seven Seas, now known as Man of Steel , was delivered to Spielberg in 2010. The four-time Academy Award winner, who ranks as the most commercially successful director in history with a net worth of $4 billion, spared no expense when designing his dream machine. He opted for nine generous staterooms, a spa, a gym, a pool, a beach club, a helipad, a tender garage, and a full movie theater, of course. Over the past decade, the OG Seven Seas has lived up to its moniker, sailing the coast of France during the Cannes Film Festival and the waters of Antigua and Barbuda. The high-profile 282-footer will certainly be a tough act to follow, but the new 357-footer could well steal the spotlight.

109m Oceanco superyacht Seven Seas delivered
Dutch yard Oceanco has delivered its 109-metre superyacht Seven Seas , formerly known as project Y720.
Seven Seas is the fourth largest project delivered by the shipyard to date and was seen for the first time in March 2022 when she was rolled out of the construction shed in Zwijndrecht .
Her sharp lines and tapered decks are from the boards of Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design , marking the first exterior collaboration between the Dutch shipyard and studio. According to the yard, the owner has played an integral role in the design of the yacht.
The interior, which remains under wraps, is also by Sinot in collaboration with American designer Molly Isaksen.
"Setting Seven Seas apart is her beautifully proportioned profile and the exquisite use of natural materials and glass on board, offering guests an unparalleled outward-looking experience," the shipyard said. "Under the unique expertise and guidance of Lateral Naval Architects , the project underwent an extensive optimisation process, resulting in outstanding performance and exceptional seakeeping ability."
She is also the first LY3-compliant yacht to feature a marine evacuation system.
Seven Seas marks the second delivery of 2023 for the shipyard with its largest construction to date, 127-metre Koru , handed over to her owner earlier this year. There are three yachts that remain under construction at Oceanco, all of which are over 100 metres in length, known as Oceanco Y723, Oceanco Y722 and Oceanco Y726.

Steven Spielberg and his wife Kate Capshaw have taken the Hollywood legend's $250million yacht Seven Seas to the Italian Riviera.
The film director, 76, beamed as he arrived in the picturesque former fishing village of Portofino holding hands with retired American actress Capshaw, 69.
The port town, with an off-season population of just 355, has come to epitomise Mediterranean glamour, becoming a sanctum for the rich and famous.
Spielberg's 357ft superyacht, which was built in the Netherlands by luxury firm Oceanco last year, can carry 14 guests in its seven cabins as well as 30 staff across another 15 cabins.
Spielberg has called the yacht Seven Seas after he sold his decade-old 282ft yacht with the same name in 2021.
The award-winning director, who was dressed in a smart grey jacket, denim jeans with a cream fedora, looked relaxed as he and his wife entertained friends on the enormous superyacht.

The yacht, which was designed by Sinon Yacht Architecture & Design, boasts a large pool at the rear, and a spa pool on the deck. There are some reports its also has a helicopter landing pad at the front.
It is powered by twin MTU 20V 4000 M73L diesel engines that can produce 4,813 HP each and propel the vessel to 20 knots, according to Robb Report.
Spielberg, who was spotted watching Oppenheimer with Beatles legend Paul McCartney in late July, and his wife then took a leisurely amble around the port town where super-yachts bob in the marina.
Kris Jenner, 67, and her longtime boyfriend Corey Gamble, 42, have also been spotted in Portofino this summer - as have on-and-off-again exes Elon Musk and Grimes.
Spielgberg's arrival in Italy co-incides with the Venice Film Festival on the opposite side of the country's coastline. Last night, all eyes were on Bradley Cooper's film Maestro, which Hollywood heavyweights Spielberg and Martin Scorsese also produced.
Notably absent from the Venice Lido, where the festival is being held, was Cooper himself, who stars as the late composer Leonard Bernstein in the film. Much of Hollywood is staying away from the red carpet due to ongoing strike action by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA. Maestro is by Netflix, who are a struck company.
A festival spokesman confirmed last month that he would not attend in solidarity with the strike by the actors union SAG-AFTRA.
The 2023 Venice Film Festival is set to be a far more low-key affair than years past, as much of Hollywood opts to stay away for fear of breaching the strikes.

The glitzy Italian event kicked off on Wednesday, and usually sees some of Hollywood's biggest stars grace the red carpet to promote their work.
However, this year only a handful of independent productions have permission to be promoted by their stars, with Venice confirming on Monday that Adam Driver and Jessica Chastain will still make appearances at the festival.
Cooper's film Maestro found itself at the centre of controversy ahead of its premiere in Venice.
After a trailer and publicity stills were released the nose drew strong criticism from a number of leading members of the Jewish community, who accused Cooper of resorting to 'Jewface' in his portrayal.
The makeup artist who created Cooper's nose apologised on Friday for causing any 'hurt'.
Double Oscar winner Kazu Hiro, who previously transformed Gary Oldman into Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour, said of the storm: 'I wasn't expecting that to happen. I feel sorry that I hurt some people's feelings.'
He added: 'My goal, and Bradley's goal, was to portray Lenny as authentic as possible. Lenny had a really iconic look that everybody knows – theres so many pictures out there because he's photogenic too – such a great person and inspired so many people.
'So we wanted to respect the look too, on the inside. So that's why we did several different tests and went through lots of decisions, and that was the outcome in the movie.'
However, Bernstein's family have defended Cooper wearing a prosthetic nose in the biopic of the composer. 'It happens to be true that he had a nice big nose,' the statement from Bernstein's children said.
