Die HETI gehört zu Klasse der 12-Meter-Yachten. Den Meter-Klassen ist gemeinsam, dass sie nach einer Formel, der International Rule, konstruiert werden. Diese wurde 1907 definiert und dann noch zwei Mal, 1920 und 1933, geändert. In die Berechnung fließen verschiedene Parameter ein, darunter die Länge der Wasserlinie, Breite, Segelfläche und Freibord.

Meaning: if you load 309 kg cargo on the boat then it will sink 1 cm. Alternatively, if you load 1735 lbs cargo on the boat it will sink 1 inch.
