About Altena Yachting

Since the foundation in 1969, Altena Yachting has expanded to an impressive and reliable company, that builds yachts with a distribution all over the world. We build high quality motor yachts in the range from 12 metre till 20 metres and chine as well as multichine. These yachts are all luxury motor yachts, diversify of inland navigation (CE-C), coast cruisers (CE-B) till seaworthy yachts.

Altena Yachting has for everyone who has an interest for motor yachts, a yacht they will enjou. The cruisers Excel and Family (CE-B) for the rivers, canal cruisers (CE-C) for the French canals, the Blue Water Trawler (CE-A) for the sea and for wild waters. Altena Yachting is a company who stands for quality, reliability, flexibility and has a optimum service. We are able to build a yacht in order, which comes up to your wishes and demands. Also we are able to rebuild your yacht completely or repair and renovate. The position of our shipyard, which is established at the river "Bergse Maas" (freeway A27), also has an unique pier for 20 yachts. Altena Yachting: half a century of quality trawlers

RAAMSDONKSVEER – Altena Yachting marked its 50th anniversary this year by delivering an aluminum, 15m (50ft) semi-displacement trawler – for a downsizing repeat client – and building an 18.6m (61ft) Vripack-designed Altena OC.

Half a century of steel and aluminum yacht building at Altena Yachting has left a mark.

The family-owned yard has to date built more than 800 motor yachts, from 12 to 20m (39-69ft). Mostly trawlers. In 1969, founder Gerard Pols – then a diesel engine repairman – started his yard by finishing someone else’s 9.5m cruiser. Soon he was building his own, 10 a year.

Ah, life was a such breeze then. Boat drawings were simply scaled up a tad, if a client wanted a slightly larger boat. These days, Altena Yachting builds 2 or 3 full-custom yachts a year, with chine or multi-chine hulls. All luxury craft, rated for inland, coastal or white-water yachting.

Altena Yachting is one of two dozen or so Dutch builders making premium quality, under-30m (98ft) luxury cruisers and trawlers. Many are from the boards of house designer Otto Brinksma who is responsible for the yard’s Blue Water Trawler and Coasthopper. Altena has also relied on designers Pieter Beeldsnijder, Theo Werner and the Vripack studio.

“We build everything, also for other shipyards”, says Altena Yachting Director Marcel Pols. “We are always open for cooperative projects.” A good example: the Vryburg PB61 (18m), launched in 2018. “We also completed one in 2016,” says Pols. The 18.6m (61ft) Altena OC (open cockpit) he is now building – a Vripack design – is a 46-ton displacement yacht powered by twin 220HP John Deere diesels.

Altena’s Blue Water Trawlers have been a hit from the day in 1994 when the first slipped into the water. By now, it has sold 40, from 48 to 58 feet (157 to 190ft). A steel displacement yacht designed for coastal waters and open sea, the Blue Water Trawler has a no-nonsense, classic look, a flared bow and comes in single and double-prop versions.

The boat has 5 watertight compartments, including the engine room, fore and aft ship accommodation. The aft-placed owner’s cabin has an en suite bathroom. Forward are a guest cabin, a dinette, bathroom and toilet and galley. There is a deck house steering position and saloon below the flybridge.

Altena Yachting also takes on challenging repair and rebuilding jobs. Most notable among them has been the transformation of a Dutch fishing cutter into an expedition vessel for the Swish Arctic Project. The San Gottardo ship was given a new wheelhouse, accommodations and a mast with an observation crow’s nest. The ship sails from Spitsbergen.

In Raamsdonksveer, aan de rivier De Bergsche Maas en direct naast de A 27, bevindt zich het verkoopkantoor van Altena Yachtbrokers. Altena Yachtbrokers is onderdeel van de Jachtwerf  Altena Yachting , een bedrijf met meer dan vijftig jaar ervaring in het bouwen en verkopen van jachten, met een bijhorende verkoophaven en winterstalling.

Altena Yachtbrokers biedt een totaal servicepakket aan rondom de aan- en verkoop van nieuwbouw- en gebruikte motorjachten. Graag begeleiden wij klanten tijdens de nieuwbouw van schepen. Gebruikte schepen zijn steeds op afspraak te bezichtigen.

Verkopers staan wij bij gedurende het verkoopproces van een schip, met alle daarbij horende werkzaamheden: de waardebepaling, het vervoer, het op orde maken van de gegevens ten behoeve van de belastingautoriteiten, de registratie en de uiteindelijke oplevering. Kopers helpen wij bij hun zoektocht naar een passend schip, de onderhandelingen bij aankoop, de daarbij horende proefvaart en/of keuring, de afwikkeling van de koop, en verder het desgewenst onderbrengen in de winterstalling of eventuele werkzaamheden aan de boot. Alle werkzaamheden en reparaties, waaronder zelfs een complete refit, kunnen op het eigen terrein van Altena Yachting worden uitgevoerd.

DISCOVER THE VERSATILITY OF OUR ALTENA BLUE WATER TRAWLER

This trawler has been designed especially for the discerning yachtsman, wanting a ship with an individual charactar and whose sailing area extends to coastal waters and open sea, while comfort and safety are the major importance.

This trawler can be delivered as a one- or doublescrew motoryacht, the hull features a double chine and will be of hydroconical shape (developable plating).

Where applicable for constructional and safety aspects, the yacht will comply with the Guidelines for the Recreational Craft Directive 94/25/EC design category “A”. The “Bureau Veritas Rules for the Classification/Certification of Yachts” will be used as a basis for the hull structure, rudder and pipelines and there where deemed necessary.

The hull is divided into the following watertight compartments: aft peak, aft ship accommodation, engine room with steel deck head, fore ship accommodation, forepeak.

The aft ship accommodates: the owner’s stateroom with en – suite bathroom and lobby with engine room entrance. The fore ship accommodates: one guest stateroom, dinette, bathroom and toilet and galley.

The deckhouse accommodates: pilot house and main saloon. Over the deckhouse a fly-bridge is arranged.
