Coral Island , as it was originally named, was also noteworthy because it was one of the largest superyachts of its day, with what was considered a highly adventurous interior. The “Polynesian beach-house” included tribal cloth from Africa, bronze taps with conch shells and repurposed driftwood furniture.

It was purposely designed as an anti-bling alternative to the gold, marble and platinum used on superyachts of the late 80s and early 90s.

Eclectic is a polite way to describe Coral Ocean ‘s interior, but like it or not, successive owners largely kept everything intact, even during its 2015 refit that modernized its audio-visual and other systems to make it legal for charter. While some cosmetic changes were made, the owners seemingly felt that tampering with the master’s work was like drawing a mustache on the Mona Lisa.

Fast forward to 2019 and the boat’s new owner Ian Malouf, decided to not only give Coral Ocean a refresh, but invest in a $5 million refit. “It had a fantastic original structure but was due for a generational change,” says Malouf, an Australian entrepreneur who also owns Ahoy Club, described as the Airbnb of the charter world.

Over the next two years at the Astilleros de Mallorca yard, that figure ballooned to $35 million as the refit turned into a wholesale renovation across the yacht. “We didn’t spare the horses and spent money everywhere,” says Malouf. “We took a very reactive approach, pivoting whenever we needed to improve the design.”

“The pool took up a lot of space,” says Malouf.  So, the team decided to delete it, along with other cluttered areas, to create a seamless, open upper deck. The front portion of the sundeck has a redesigned spa pool with a glass bottom (that shows up as a ceiling in the corridor below) paired to an enclosed area with a bar and dining area under a large, carbon-fiber hardtop.  

The main suite on the deck below also involved major renovations. “That bedroom also felt cluttered,” says Malouf, “so we basically doubled its size.”

The suite also has new his-and-hers en suites, sauna, a hair salon and private lounge with treatment room. Two skylights were built into the ceilings. The team also added a 180-degree bank of taller windows to the area in front of the bed, providing clear views and natural light. A red-coral logo below the forward window is the only reminder that this is a nearly 30-year-old classic yacht.

“Once we got started, we couldn’t stop,” says Malouf. “There wasn’t one part of the boat we didn’t touch.”

The VIP suite also received a makeover. It has its own lounge at the entryway that Malouf says can be used an office space or cinema.

The design also called for a greater focus on outdoor living. The team rethought the dining space on the aft deck, using sliding glass and a heated ceiling to preserve the al-fresco experience even during cold, blustery days. The new design also includes two bars, a pizza oven and a teppanyaki grill. Inside is a formal dining room with a table for 14, situated between a glass wine cellar on one side and floor-to-ceiling windows for water views on the other.

While Coral Reef is the flagship of Ahoy Club’s charter fleet, Malouf said the design was aimed mostly for his family’s enjoyment, rather than anonymous charter guests hiring out the yacht for a week or two.

“We built it for ourselves,” says Malouf. “We didn’t cut any corners, using white carpet and curtains instead of neutral colors like beige, and brought on fine crystal and china, details that the boat deserves. Charterers expect the best at this level.”

Malouf called the two-year refit was a “diamond-in-the-rough” transition, noting that most of his yachts have been refits. The new Coral Ocean may serve as a template for future additions to his fleet, he notes, especially since a new custom yacht takes four years to complete.

After spending the summer in charter in the Med, Coral Ocean made its public debut earlier this month at the Cannes Yachting Festival. It will be at the Monaco Yacht Show next week.

The large TV screen is concealed by artwork which can be ready for viewing with a touch of a button.

Formal Dining Salon

The formal dining salon is located forward of the Main Salon of which can be closed off for intimate dinners. Up to sixteen guests can be seated at the high gloss bond wood table and leaves may be removed for more modest parties. Custom storage for all linens, China and crystal allows guests to enjoy an array of presentations throughout their stay onboard.

Master Office & Ensuite

Enter the main deck master suite by beginning in the private Owner's office. This allows the Owner to be efficient with business in the outside world while underway. Private balconies on port and starboard side are ideal for your morning coffee or night cap.

The sleeping and sitting area of the Master Suite has a warmth to her with rich fabrics complementing the natural wood textures and finishes; and is highly spacious. The entertainment system can be hidden when not in use.

The Master ensuite is finished in antique travertine and gold leaf with his and her sinks and mirrors; a separate toilet room and double shower room.

BRIDGE DECK

LAUREL's bridge deck has an informal atmosphere and fantastic views. The aft deck has ample seating for relaxation and fun in the sun. Under the fixed cover is a large shaded area for dining and conversation. The aft deck dining table easily accommodates 16 guests. A separate library and media room is a cozy spot for reading, games or watching movies.

LAUREL's versatile top deck is outfitted for outdoor and indoor fun. Large sunpads and chaise lounges are located aft on the deck. Just forward is the Jacuzzi. An enclosed glass shower is perfect for cooling down after a workout in the well-equipped gym located in the center of the sun deck. The observation lounge forward can be used as a sitting room with card table or as a beautiful setting for an intimate dinner. The lounge area with wet bar forward is protected by removable sun sails.

Six guest cabins are located on the lower deck and offer a variety of configurations depending on guest requirements. The four king suites have bathrooms with twin sinks and showers en suite, writing desk and arm chairs. The two queen suites each have bathtubs and twin sinks. One is easy to set up as a children’s room with a single bed + pullman bed in addition to the queen. The 7th stateroom can serve as a massage / spa room (upon request) or as a staff/security room with a Murphy style Queen size bed and/or Twin bed inclusive of ensuite head with Jacuzzi tub/shower and double sinks.

If you buy a 130-foot yacht, one complaint may be that there is only enough room for 15 additional guests.

With 14 total staterooms, this is more like a cruise ship than a personal yacht. The three waverunners will keep passengers entertained, while the 4,500 horsepower will get your guests where they want to go in no time.

This beautiful ship was completed in 2005. If you have to ask how much it is, you definitely cannot afford it.

RM Elegant's name is certainly reflected in her exterior design. Flowing lines and a clean, white color really make this ship stand out.

The outside decks are perfect for entertaining.

At the end of a long day, Champagne in the hot tub sounds like a great idea.

One you're inside, RM Elegant is quite the relaxing ship.

Neutral tones and some really great looking woods abound throughout the interior.

This dining room is nearly fit for a small wedding reception.

The master stateroom looks like it has a simply awesome view.

As well as an audacious ensuite bathroom. Look at all that marble.

The brown color scheme of this stateroom is a nice contrast to the other rooms onboard.

The Formula 240 has a 20-degree deadrise with an eight-foot six-inch beam, which keeps the vessel stable and improves its performance on the water.

Safety is also a priority with all Formula vessels, and the 240 Bowrider is no exception. The 240 Bowrider has molded nonskid placed in all boarding areas to ensure boat entry is safe for all passengers. It’s easy to enter the cockpit of the 240 Bowrider from the starboard-side aft entryway, too. The cockpit features a spacious layout with a continuous L-shaped lounge seating setup, twin dual-position bucket seats and an optional wet bar.

A few of the other features that will wow you and any guests you invite aboard include:

• Ski and wakeboard swivel-head rope mount.
• Concealed bow beach ladder.

Cockpit and Storage on the Formula 240 Bowrider

The Formula 240 Bowrider was built with your needs in mind. When you’re spending your entire day on the water, the cockpit has all of the storage and entertainment space you’ll need to host your family or guests on the water.

The 240 Bowrider features a removable cockpit table that is perfect for enjoying food, playing board games or other activities you can enjoy with guests. You also have the option of including a wet bar on your 240 Bowrider with Corian countertops, stainless steel sink, stainless steel safety rail and concealed trash container cabinet that will boost your onboard entertainment abilities.

You can travel on the water with confidence knowing your personal items are safe and secure in the specially designed storage compartments on the Formula 240 Bowrider. You can place your items in the transom trunk, the under-lounge storage compartment or the in-floor ski and wakeboard storage that’s underneath the walkway in the center of the vessel. You’ll also have access to a spacious starboard storage locker, 13 drink holders and bow seating storage that will help keep your boat organized and your items safe while you cruise on the water.

The 240 Bowrider gives boaters the ability to enjoy longer trips on the water as well thanks to the expertly designed cockpit and optimal storage space. Your items will be safe and stay dry during your excursions, and you and your guests will be comfortable with all of the space the Formula 240 offers in the cockpit and the bow.

Head Compartment and Helm on 240 Bowrider Boat

The Formula 240 Bowrider boat includes a large head compartment in the portside. You can access this compartment with a portable unit through the curved fiberglass door. Inside the compartment, you’ll find there is a generous amount of space to change, and it is furnished with a standard portable head. You also have the option of including a porcelain unit with a 10-gallon holding tank.

The captain of the boat can enjoy the sculpted helm and carefully designed dash that contains Livorsi gauges set in stainless-rimmed pods. The steering wheel features brushed metallic accents as well as the Ritchie compass, digital depth sounder and side-mount shift and throttle arm with trim switch. These features help assure complete confidence while operating the boat.

You also have the option to include a SmartCraft instrumentation system, a VHF radio with antenna and a Garmin GPS system. Your 240 will also include a Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo with a six-month subscription to Sirius Satellite Digital Broadcast. Power your Formula Boats 240 Bowrider with a single-engine that ranges from 260 to 425 horsepower packages that include Volvo or Mercury MerCruiser.

Season 6 of Netflix's 'The Crown' filmed aboard 240ft superyacht TITANIA

Actress Elizabeth Debicki has been spotted wearing a replica of the former Princess of Wales’ iconic purple and green swimsuit and sarong on the aft of TITANIA  during filming for the new season of the hit Netflix series. Set to air next month, the latest instalment will recreate Princess Diana’s lavish vacation in the Mediterranean just weeks before she was killed in Paris with boyfriend Dodi Al-Fayed.

Filming has taken place around the port town of Andratx in Mallorca , though Diana and the son of former Harrods owner, Mohamed Al-Fayed, had cruised the French Riviera and Italy in the elegant Codecasa yacht Jonikal (now ISABELL PRINCESS OF THE SEA) . Photos have already surfaced of the show’s beautiful recreation of the famous shot of Diana sitting at the end of the yacht’s diving board while in Portofino a mere 6 days before her tragic death on 31 August 1997.  

All about TITANIA

Lurssen’s 240ft (73m) vessel charters at approximately $735 000 per week plus expenses in the summer, marking a considerable portion of the $14 million budget for each episode of The Crown . 

Constructed in 2006 and refitted in 2020, she is a custom motor yacht considered to be one of the largest and most luxurious vessels available for charter . Replete with plush cream carpets and high-gloss woods, the classical interiors make her an obvious choice for Netflix’s popular dramatization of the British royal family’s life. Most rooms are tastefully accented with varying shades of blues, in-keeping with the nautical vibe. 

With an expansive beach club and extendable swim platform, TITANIA is perfect for soaking up the Mediterranean sun before heading inside for a drink and music recital on the vessel’s grand piano. After a long day of watersports (or filming!), the boat sleeps up to 12 guests in 7 cabins– including the master suite which is situated on the full-beam main deck.
