Yacht Charter Thailand
Discover some of the most captivating cruising grounds in southeast Asia, exotic cuisine, and fascinating culture when you enjoy a yacht charter in Thailand.
Pristine beaches and wing-tipped Buddhist temples litter the landscape along the southwest coastline. This idyllic nation is primed for your visit as it has long been a hot spot for the jet-set thanks to its stunning beaches, Zen-like culture, exotic foods, and legendary beach parties. The renowned city of Bangkok is the capital, but Thailand’s offshore islands, such as Phuket, are a true paradise.
Immerse yourself in the fascinating, colorful cities, take in the unique customs, and delight in the fantastic cuisine. With a host of attractions, you will never find yourself bored when visiting Thailand’s range of natural wonders and spiritual grandeur.
Outstanding snorkeling and diving
Cruise southwestern Thailand to visit the pristine beaches with turquoise waters and amazing underwater wonders for outstanding snorkeling and diving. The yacht will be outfitted with all of the kit you need. Combined with well-protected anchorages and dramatic limestone landscapes, the Andaman Sea is the reigning maritime jewel of Southeast Asia. On a cruise around Thailand’s west coast, you can explore uninhabited islands in Phang Nga Bay. This is the perfect place to hop aboard the yacht’s water toys and play in the crystalline sea.
Divers will want to jump in waters surrounding the Phi Phi islands or the Marine National Park around the Similan Islands and spend leisurely days on the scenic beaches of the Surin Islands before venturing inland to enjoy the cultural hotspots and nightlife on the Phuket, aka the “Pearl of the Andaman.” Phuket is also brimming with luxury spas that provide the ultimate in relaxation. Enjoy a massage while watching the sunset over a pristine ocean at one of the five-star resorts on the island.

Thailand luxury yacht charter
Known as "the "Land of Smiles," a luxury yacht charter in Thailand combines dazzling geography with unrivalled hospitality, rich local culture, buzzing nightlife spots, luxurious on-shore resorts and some of the world's best scuba diving sites. Yachts making their way through the Andaman Sea or the Gulf of Thailand will find plenty to explore, from the towering limestone karsts of Phang Nga Bay to vast powdery beaches and tranquil turquoise lagoons on the Thai island of Koh Samui. With a concerted effort underway to turn Thailand into a top yachting destination in Southeast Asia, visitors can also expect an ever-increasing number of high-end megayacht facilities in the country's superyacht hub of Phuket.
Thailand superyacht season and weather
Thailand enjoys a tropical climate with temperatures staying between 25°C and 30°C all year.
Most charterers consider November to March to be the best months to visit when days are hot, sunny and less humid.
From December to March, visibility is often at its best and the Andaman Sea is calm. The wettest months are generally September and October. On the Andaman coast between July and October, the sea can get choppy and tropical rainstorms are frequent. As Ko Samui and Ko Phangan do not experience the southwest monsoon season, these cruising grounds can be a better option if you are planning a superyacht charter in Thailand between May and September. The tidal range can exceed eight feet.
Thailand yacht charter itineraries
With show-stopping cruising grounds, five-star luxury resorts and first-class hospitality, Thailand is primed to be a key charter hub in south east Asia .
The majority of superyacht charters focus around the Andaman Sea where there are more than 130 captivating isles within the province of Krabi alone. Off Phuket’s dazzling west coast the offshore marine reserves of the Similan and Surin islands offer superb snorkelling and diving with leopard sharks, octopus and kaleidoscopic marine life.
Phuket is the main destination for luxury yacht charters in Thailand. It's also home to the famous Kata Rocks Superyacht Rendezvous, a premier racing regatta in Asia that attracts superyachts over 24 metres for eventful days of sailing and celebrating.
On the north tip of the island, Phuket Yacht Haven Marina accommodates yachts of 100+ metres. Ao Po Grand Marina is located on Phuket’s east coast, well positioned for exploring Phang Nga Bay, and can also accommodate yachts up to an over 100 metres. Yachts visiting the island's east coast and measuring less than 35 metres can dock at Royal Phuket Marina .
From Phuket’s palm-fringed east coast charters cruise into the spellbinding Phang Nga Bay, where great fingers of limestone shoot skyward from the sapphire waters. Yachts can take their pick of the multitude of pristine beaches and translucent lagoons. Stop at the Emerald Cave en route to Krabi where guests can head ashore to the vibrant night market, bars and restaurants.
Departing from Krabi, it’s a sun-kissed 30 nautical mile trip to Ko Lanta – the sleepy island of Ko Pu and its silky coves provide a good pitstop en route. With over 200 species of reef fish, along with whale sharks and kaleidoscopic marine life, Ko Lanta is a nature lover’s nirvana with some of the best diving in Thailand.
Around 17 nautical miles northwest of Ko Lanta, the magical crescents of the Phi Phi islands offer more spectacular beaches, hilltop vistas and fun-loving nightlife. The neighbouring islets, lagoons and coves are tailor-made for more snorkel, kayak and cruising fun – be sure to visit the famed James Bond island .
Cruising around the west coast of Phuket, luxury residences and five-star hotels abound, while the nightlife and markets of Kata and Patong offer a vibrant change of pace. Heading north, it is around 60 nautical miles to the untouched paradise of the Similan Islands. Celebrated for its colourful marine life, gin-clear visibility and a dizzying array of palm-dotted beaches, the marine park has a back-to-nature charm like no other. Awake in perfect solitude before cruising north to the equally beguiling Surin Islands and, if time allows, on to the mystical isles and anchorages of Myanmar.
Though most charters use Phuket as a hub due to the mature infrastructure and facilities, Thailand’s Gulf Coast also offers some stunning cruising of its own. The glittering archipelago of 42 picturesque limestone islands found off Koh Samui are picture perfect and the island of Ko Tao is world-renowned for its incredible dive sites.

Getting to thailand.
Thailand has many airports including Phuket International, Ko Samui, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi and Krabi airport, which all accommodate commercial and private jets.
Legal requirements
Until recently, charters in Thai waters could only be organised on local vessels, with foreign-flagged charter boats only able to visit as part of a multi-country itinerary (often beginning and ending in the Malaysian island of Langkawi, located 135 nautical miles from Phuket). However, these restrictions have now been eased so that foreign-flagged charter yachts are allowed to stay in Thailand much longer.

Thailand is to South East Asia what the Caribbean region is to the Americas- the hub of yachting. Located in the heart of the continent, Thailand lies on the Andaman Sea, the most famous sailing ground in the region and with 2000 miles of coast, the country is an utter paradise for all yachting amateurs. Picture-perfect islands, lush and tempting jungle and nestled lagoons are natural wonders awaiting each visitor to the region who wants to see beyond prominent stereotypes that keep many at bay.
Thailand sports a hot climate making it a dream destination for a luxury charter vacation . Most of Thailand lies in the topical wet and dry climate while the charter-friendly southern and eastern tip of the country’s eastern region lies in the tropical monsoon climate which only means to say that the best time to sail the region are the months of November through April.
Hop on board with Sunreef Yachts Charter for a winter charter in Thailand and be dazzled by this mysterious, quaint and immaculate land.
The name “Bangkok” evokes many connotations but one thing is certain, this thriving metropolis is one of the focal points in Thailand for guests who are looking not only for rich heritage but also for a wealth of tourist attractions and ample local flavor. This bustling Thai hub has everything for urban jungle lovers, from art galleries, museums, restaurants, cafes, theme parks, cinemas, theatres, cabaret shows, golf courses, biking tracks, supreme spa treatments and finally, a wealthy nightlife.
An impressive skyline of this canal city is definitely worth seeing, although the undeniable hustle and bustle of Bangkok may not suit those looking for a serene retreat. There are many festivities taking place annually in the capital so whichever time you choose for your luxury charter vacation, you will be pleased to spend it in Thailand.
Between the island of Phuket and the mainland province of Phang-Nga lies the Phang Nga Bay, whose vast section remains protected under the Ao Phang Nga National Park. The bay is an exquisite sailing ground boasting limestone cliffs, subsided cave systems as well as many archeological sites found around in the bay’s surroundings resulting from the past of this landmass. Thousands of years ago when the sea level was much lower, it was possible to walk over from Phuket to Krabi which is why the area is now filled with natural findings.
Sail your luxury charter catamaran or your luxury charter powerboat to the island of Ko Tapu, also known as James Bond Island. This natural attraction is nothing more than a 66 foot tall picture-perfect limestone rock dropped in emerald green waters that was featured in the 1974 motion picture “The Man with the Golden Gun”. Ko Panyi is a fishing village in the province that is known for having been built on stilts by Indonesian fishermen. Once solely an angling village, Ko Panyi is now open to tourists offering them a number of premium seafood restaurants making it a wonderful stop for lunch.
Phuket is Thailand’s largest island approximately the size of Singapore and is conveniently connected with mainland by two road bridges. Once located on one of the major trading routes between India and China, it was frequently mentioned by sailors from Portugal, France, the Netherlands and England. The island’s main activity is tourism and although many major resorts were destroyed by the 2004 tsunami that ravaged the region, they were recovered very quickly and are now in a better shape than ever.
Phuket Town on the eastern shores is not any usual provincial town that you will find in Thailand. It is a historically rich quaint urban region plenty of old colonial Portuguese charm intertwined with Chinese influences seen in temples, museums, restaurants and cafes. Stop by the Phuket Amulet Market supplying the predominant Buddhist population in this essential ornament and stroll through Phuket’s Old Town populated by a mix of nationalities creating a wonderful mingle of spells. The Sino-Portuguese architecture of Phuket Town nestled in lush vegetation unveils colorful facades that house private residences, museums and restaurants.
Just at the tip of Phuket Island sits Nai Horn Beach, one of the most popular places with yachting enthusiasts who choose to halt in Phuket during their luxury charter vacation. Although it is a popular stopover during the high season, it remains a tranquil area with only a few luxury resorts including the Royal Phuket Yacht Club which promises an unforgettable dining experience in one of the waterfront restaurants as well as marvelous enticing body treatments in the Spa Center.
It is best advised to sail your luxury charter catamaran or luxury charter mega yacht in high season, that is November through to April. Snorkelers and divers will be pleased to penetrate further down south to Ya Nui where charms of the sea will enchant them.
Administratively part of the mainland Krabi province, Phi-Phi Islands are a couple of immaculate juts of land that have only recently been discovered as charming tourist attractions. This remoteness and natural sincerity of the region is the reason of its increasing popularity among luxury charter guests. There is absolutely no better way to discover Phi-Phi Islands on your luxury sailing catamaran or luxury charter sailing yacht that will take you from your previous location to this chunk of paradise that emerges from the sea like an impressive bastille.
Phi-Phi Leh, the southern island, rests completely uninhabited, while Phi-Phi Don is deprived of roads which makes it a charming rural location free of any commotion and flurry associated with urban regions. Phi-Phi are exquisite for snorkeling and diving in immaculate and crystal-clear waters populated with rich submarine life and corals but charter guests are also welcome to try cliff jumping, biking, hiking or dining in premium restaurants. In the evening, hop back onboard or opt for a relaxing massage in one of the luxury resorts.
Southeast of Phuket Island and just to the south of the mainland province of Krabi lies the Koh Lanta Archipelago consisting of two major islands, Koh Lanta Noi and Koh Lanta Yai, among countless small islets. The southern island boasts a stretching coastline of remarkable white sandy beaches, memorable breathtaking scenery, lush verdant forests, vibrant coral reefs and rich submarine flora and fauna. The best time to visit Koh Lanta is November through to April, therefore a winter charter in Thailand with Sunreef Yachts Charter will be an utter dream come true.
Jungle trekking, horseback riding and beachcombing are just some of the activities that will make your head spin as you penetrate the island. Prepare to be swept away by the archipelago’s natural beauty surrounded by sparkling emerald waters ideal for a relaxing swim or before-lunch snorkeling.
No, no luxury charter holiday can pass without a visit to this eastern province, a lusciously verdant slice of heaven whose natural beauty makes every little corner of the region worth exploring. What you get in return for debarking on the magnificent shores are omnipresent brilliant turquoise waters, exotic offshore islands, stretching powdery beaches and a wealth of vibrant marine life. Whether charter guests choose to visit caves of crystalline formations, go island-hopping along the coast, visit the Krabi Hot Springs or one of the many nature preserves in the region, you will surely run out of time to see it all!
Sail your luxury charter mega yacht or your luxury charter catamaran towards Chicken Island named so after a bizarre rock formation located on the island that represents the head of a chicken or an ostrich. One side of the island consists of steep cliffs while the other side sports magnificent beaches lining a peninsula.
Krabi offers all attractions desirable during a luxury charter, be it diving, snorkeling, rock climbing, sea kayaking, bird gazing, fishing, jungle trekking and more. The shoreline is paved with luxury hotels and resorts offering fabled Thai massages soothing the senses.
Plunged in the Phang Nga Bay between Phuket Island and mainland Thailand, Koh Yao Noi and Koh Yao Yai are two islands that seem to have been made for outdoor fun and relaxation. Although the islands hint at a constant development, they rest relatively immaculate and far less bustling that Phuket. Koh Yao are a gorgeous port of call for charter guests who wish to venture into the wild. Participate in numerous agricultural demonstrations including rubber and fishing, or go swimming, snorkeling, kayaking or hiking.
The moment charter guests reach ashore, they will quickly soak up the casual ambiance of the islands. The islands’ western coast is carpeted with luscious rice fields and is lined with imposing mangroves, while the eastern part houses premium beaches.
One of the notable islands and islets worth visiting while in Krabi is Koh Hong. Located only 15 miles off the province’s coast, Koh Hong is a genuine promise of a pristine afternoon spent discovering nestled lagoons home to vibrant tropical fish that are ready to eat anything visitor are willing to offer. Sea kayaking gives the opportunity of gliding through heavenly shallow and crystal flat waters, discovering mysterious caves normally inaccessible to larger boats and meeting permanent inhabitants which include sea eagles as well as star fish. The integrity of the island’s territory is a preserved national park making it a perfect ground to recharge your batteries.
When you choose to visit Thailand aboard your luxury charter yacht, there is no way that you can miss a replenishing Thai massage, a technique known all over the world that is nonetheless best to be tried no where else than in its country of origin. The massage was once considered one of the branches of natural medicine believed to have healing properties for all sorts of ailments. Choose one of the luxury resorts to offering spa treatments and massages and take advantage of this ancient practice after which you will feel like a newborn.
Thai cuisine is delicious, beneficial and based on contrasts. Each Thai meal must be composed of four fundamental tastes: sweet, sour, bitter, and salty. Well balanced and with an emphasis on fresh ingredients, Thai dishes are foremost light while this splendid blend of contradictory flavors is the key factor that Thais pride themselves for and delight in. For breakfast, try chok (rice porridge) or khao khai chao (omelet with white rice often served with chili sauce and sliced cucumber), delight in fried rice with crab meat for lunch and pla neung manao for dinner (steamed fish with a spicy lime juice dressing). The dessert menu of Thai cuisine is mostly based on fresh fruit but there are also such delicacies as khanom mo kaeng (baked pudding with coconut milk, eggs, palm sugar and flour).
No need to wait any minute longer! Hop onboard with Sunreef Yachts Charter and let Thailand impress you on every step of the way…

Yacht Charter in Thailand
Thailand yacht charter
Thailand is the bustling sailing hub of Southeast Asia. Offering the most stunning, vast stretches of coastline and unparalleled tropical beauty, Thailand has become a sailing playground for superyachts from around the world. With year-round perfect sailing conditions, hundreds of smaller islands nearby to each other, the possibilities for yacht charters in Thailand are endless. There are two famous regions for yacht charters in Thailand: the southern Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. Both offer spectacular natural scenery, peaceful sailing grounds, sheltered bays, and the most ideal weather perfect for cruising.
How much to charter a yacht in Thailand?
There is every imaginable type of yacht in Thailand for a yacht charter. Whether you are a couple in search for a romantic tropical getaway, or a group of friends wanting to enjoy endless parties on deck, or a family looking for the most memorable holiday in Thailand, there's a yacht perfect for your needs. A 40-foot, 3-cabin catamaran for two people on board can coast around $4,200 for seven nights, while a 47-foot sailing catamaran with four cabins can cost about $5,000 for a week's rent. Additionally, a 134-foot, 5-cabin motor yacht can cost around $120,000 for seven nights for ten people on board.
What are the most popular yacht holidays in Thailand?
Two regions in Thailand offer the most popular and most visited by yacht enthusiasts: the islands and coast of the Andaman and the Gulf of Thailand. Let's start with the more popular sailing ground, which is the Andaman Sea. Phuket is the jewel of the Andaman, and it's the most famous island in Thailand. Millions of tourists worldwide visit the island each year for its rich culture and history, and the breathtaking natural beauty surrounding the islands on the Andaman. Yacht charters in Phuket have plenty of options for itineraries, which include Phang Nga Bay, a World Heritage Site, and teeming with smaller islets made of limestone that seem to rise from the sea and into the sky.
With emerald green waters, pristine white beaches, and a plethora of secluded coves, bays, secret beaches, and caves, Phuket and its seas are genuinely a playground for water worshippers. Yacht charters can hop from one island to another in the archipelago of Ao Phang Nga National Park, with lush mangrove forests, limestone pinnacles, and hidden coves on the coast. Or they could head to the beautiful and famous Phi Phi Islands, with breathtaking views, powder white sand beaches, and all the shades of blue in its crystal clear waters. Other popular cruising spots include Krabi's islands, with over a hundred to explore, and the world-class dive spots of Similan and Surin Islands.
On the other side of Thailand, the Gulf of Thailand's coastal towns and islands offer a different atmosphere. More laid-back, rustic, and charming, the islands of Koh Samui, Koh Tao, Koh Chang, and the Ang Thong National Park are the most famous cruising spots for yacht charters. Koh Samui is world-famous for its laid back atmosphere but also home to million-dollar villas and 5-start mega-resorts. It's the second most visited island in Thailand but offers a more family-friendly and romantic appeal than Phuket's crowded and tourist spots. Ang Thong National Park, a protected nature reserve, features 40 islands to explore, with each one being close to one another. Other notable cursing destinations in the Gulf of Thailand include Koh Tao and Koh Chang.
Where to go on a luxury yacht charter in Thailand?
Being the sailing center of Southeast Asia, Thailand features luxury yacht charter destinations that offer a plethora of luxury yacht itineraries to choose from. Phuket is the top spot for luxury yacht charters in Thailand, with two world-class marinas: the Yacht Haven Marina, and the Ao Po Grand Marina, offering luxury services and hundreds of berths. Phuket also plays host to international regattas, such as the Phuket King's Cup Regatta, Asia's biggest and most popular regatta. The Phuket International Boat Show also happens once a year on the island, where some of the world's best superyachts are on show.
The seaside resort city of Pattaya is another luxury yacht destination in Thailand. Close to Bangkok, this city is a favorite weekend destination for locals, offering beaches and nearby islands to explore. It is also home to the Ocean Marina Yacht Club, another world-class marina in Thailand. Pattaya also plays host to The Ocean Marina Pattaya Boat Show, another event in Thailand where superyachts from all over the world are showcased. While Koh Samui doesn't have a marina, the islands offer many safe anchorages for luxury yachts to drop anchor.
Koh Samui has become a favorite for luxury yacht charters because of its popularity with the rich and famous. Offering luxury villas, resorts, spas, and indulgent experiences, superyachts have made their way to Koh Samui and called it home during the country's dry season of November to April. Thailand's magical islands and calms seas offer perfect sailing conditions in Southeast Asia. And with bustling tourism infrastructure, luxury villas, and resorts found on the coast, it is no wonder yacht charters are one of the best ways to enjoy an authentic Thai holiday.

Mega Yacht Charters
Few luxury vacation options compare to chartering a mega yacht. These floating palaces – which typically measure 150 feet or more from bow to stern – provide a private 5-star experience unlike any other.
Many mega yachts have accommodations for up to 12 guests, and while on charter, every detail of your holiday is customizable. You choose what destinations to see, the menus, and activities. And while onboard, the crew and captain are at your service, to ensure you receive a top-notch yachting experience throughout your stay. Another added benefit: You’ll have access to a wide range of amazing amenities on board. Many yachts include options like:
- Spa & wellness centers
- Massage rooms & saunas
- Water toys, including skibobs, waterslides, jet skis, and tenders
- Deck cinemas
- Helicopter decks
The bottom line, chartering a mega yacht offers you the chance to explore some of the world’s most revered destinations in true luxury.

Yacht charter in Thailand
An amazing combination of pristine nature, modern pace of life and best traditions of Buddhism is the cornerstone that attracts sailors to this country from all around the world. If you dream about unforgettable yacht charter, it should be in top of your list.
Located right in the heart of Southeast Asia, this country is surrounded by the Andaman Sea on the west side of the Malay Peninsula, and the Gulf of Thailand and South China Sea on the east side. Until 1939 it was called Siam, which means "freedom.” Bordered by Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar, Thailand is the only country in Southeast Asia that has kept its independence through the years. As a result, the traditional lifestyle that has been intact for centuries has been left almost unchanged. Well known for peace and calmness, the Thai people will make your sailing vacation even more pleasant.
Geographically, Thailand can be divided into 5 distinct regions, but the southern peninsula of Malay and the eastern part of the country are of the most interest to sailors.
Thailand is washed with two oceans – Pacific on the eastern part and Indian in the western part, Thus while sailing, you may expect moderate breeze, clean tropical waters, number of safe moorings and anchorages. You definitely will not find here number of equipped marinas or harbors, but on every mooring or anchorage you will easily find some cozy local restaurant, water supply or grocery store. While Thai cuisine and the hospitality of locals will definitely bring only positive vibes.
Gulf of Thailand boat rentals
Eastern part of country covers several provinces including Trat, Chantburi and Rayong. On the southwest, it reaches the Gulf of Thailand, and it borders Cambodia to the east. The rugged coastline is bordered with rocky islands and covered with lush green forest. While sailing, you will see many rivers flowing south to create large mangrove forests, followed by pristine white sand beaches. The east coast is very popular for its resort areas, but few sailors know about the more secluded yacht charter opportunities in Koh Chang.
Sailing in Koh Chang
The Koh Chang yacht charter base is located only 194 miles (312 km) from Bangkok and offers excellent access to the mostly untouched cruising grounds. Being the second largest island in the country (after Phuket), a Koh Chang sailing vacation is a perfect combination of emerald waters, white sand beaches and pristine jungle, waterfalls and stunning lush landscapes. Koh Chang means “elephant” in the Thai language. A fitting name for an island that is shaped like a giant sleeping elephant.
Phuket yacht charter
Phuket is the largest island in Thailand, and is located near the west coast in the Andaman Sea. The east coast of Phuket offers the finest cruising grounds, with easy access to 39 different islands. Discover towering pinnacles of limestone when sailing in the sheltered waters of Phang-nga Bay, set sails to see the famous Phi Phi located to the south of Andaman Sea, or the many beautiful locations in the province of Krabi. Make an offshore trip to one of the National Parks located in the Siliman, or Suring Islands, one of the most famous diving sites in the world.
The kind and hospitable people will make your sailing vacation and boat rentals in Phuket even more pleasant and memorable.
Best time for yachting in Thailand is from November to April. During this period, the weather is not too hot and there is quite a small amount of precipitation. However, tropical climate and no typhoons make sailing in this region comfortable and safe all year round.
But even though, we recommend to choose the right time for travel. Favorable conditions for navigation along the eastern and western coasts are from November to April. If you are looking for some extreme sailing conditions, you may go to the west coast from May to October, during the monsoon season. From November to April the weather is ideal for sailing both on the west and east coast of Thailand. From May to October – is the season of the southwestern monsoon. At this time, it is better to avoid the western waters but there are dozens of different sailing itineraries from the main yacht charter base located on the island of Phuket.
Sailing tips
Phuket is gaining growing popularity among sailors of different levels. It offers great coastline, quite simple navigation and a large choice of sailing itineraries of different duration. So, all this makes Phuket the best starting point for bareboat yacht charter.
This place is so popular that on top of three comfortable yacht marinas, two more were opened in the recent years. One of the main advantages of Phuket sailing area is that gives you miles of emptiness and relaxing solitude free from big cruising ships.
Sailing grounds
There are two main directions of routes for yachts charter vacation – eastern and western. To the east of Phuket is the Phang-Nga Bay, where the famous Panuk and Hong islands are located. Also, you should pay attention to the James Bond Island, Krabi and Riley Beach, famous among rock climbers. The western shore of the island of Phuket is washed by the waters of the Andaman Sea, which is part of the Indian Ocean. The Similan and Surin are located 100 km northwest of Phuket and included in the top ten places on the planet for scuba diving. Even further to the northwest are the Andaman Islands, known for their pristine natural beauty, incredible fishing and diving.
During your travel along the bay, you should definitely admire the network of amazing grottoes, caves and tunnels of Koh Panak. Landing from a yacht and having moved to a kayak, you can admire the hidden lagoons and mangrove forests that are in the center of the island.
In this direction is also the island of Krabi, famous for its snow-white beaches and emerald jungles.
During your sailing vacation, it’s worth visiting Phi Phi, a part of the marine national park. Here you will find closed lagoons, calcareous cliffs of striking height and much more.
A smaller Phi Phi Leh, was formed by limestone rocks. In this regard, the water around the island has acquired a unique turquoise hue. Although it is considered to be uninhabited, you can still find lots of interesting things to explore. Famous Viking cave with a picture of an ancient man, numerous swallow nests collected by locals as they considered to be kind of a delicacy.
Koh Hong considered to be one of the most fabulous islands in Krabi area. Here you may take your time and relax contemplating white sand beaches, hidden lagoons with shallow waters beaming with exotic fish. While on the anchorage take a kayak, and explore nearby caves. Up in the sky you will see sea eagles gliding in circles searching for prey while looking down you will find emerald bottom decorated with numerous starfish.
Bareboat charter will give you a chance to visit Koh Pannyi – a sheer rock, with a small fishing village near it built on wooden and concrete piles. Here, among mazes of huts you will find small colorful craft market as well as some bars and restaurants offering variety of fresh sea food dishes from the catch of the day.
It is hard to believe, but there is only one policeman in charge of the island, and couple of years ago there was even no electricity. An interesting landmark is a football field built by schoolchildren directly on the water. There are no hotels, but you can spend the night on your boat or catamaran on a safe anchorage nearby.
Your next sailing destination is Koh Poda, covered with lush palm trees and surrounded by white beaches. A few meters from the beach there is a coral reef: here you can go snorkeling and admire the diversity of the underwater world.
The other island nearby is Koh Kai – a rock that looks like head and neck of a chicken. Part of it consists of steep rocks, and the opposite shore has beautiful sandy beaches. During strong tides this peninsula is partially flooded.
Phang Nga Bay will amaze you with its unusual, almost mystical beauty. A distinctive feature of this place are steep rocks, protruding vertically from emerald green water. The bay has the status of a marine National park.
Thailand offers great opportunity to combine yacht charter with diving. A lot of coral reefs, as well as a variety of underwater terrain provide unlimited opportunities for diving. Here you have a unique opportunity to meet whale sharks. The best period for diving is November-May. Visibility in water can reach up to 50 meters. Similan Islands are the most popular among divers. Phuket Island in the Andaman Sea is famous for deep-sea fishing and trolling. So, do not forget to rent a fishing kit and you’ll have a great chance to catch tuna, barracuda, sailfish, marlin and other exotic fish.
Thai Cuisine
Thai cuisine is largely determined by the climate and culture of the country. Tropical vegetation and the proximity of the sea caused widespread use of various fruits, spices and seafood.
Also, migration and contacts with other peoples affected the ways of cooking. For example, the homeland of Thai tribes is mountain settlements in the southeast of China (modern provinces of Guangxi and Guizhou). Between the 6th and 13th centuries these peoples migrated to the southern lands, where today Laos and Burma are located. Naturally, all this affected culinary preferences. Local cuisine is a mixture of Chinese and Indian cuisine. Culinary traditions of these countries have had the greatest impact on the formation of local gastronomic predilections.
There are no strict cooking rules in Thai cuisine and taste of any dish depends not only on the set of products and spices, but also on the personal style of the chef. Very important for Thai cuisine is the balance between food, spices and side dishes. For example, fried chicken with chili is combined with a soup of bitter melon with pork.
Rice in Thai cuisine is the most important product, it’s like bread in Europe. And if the other dishes are served warm or at room temperature, the rice should be hot enough for you to see a steam.
The second main product is noodles: thin rice (kuaytiao sen lek), thick and nourishing (kuaytiao sen yai), yellow egg (bamee).
Thais eat little, but often. When serving the table, they do not use knives (all products are cut into small pieces). Finish eating usually with fruits. A favorite drink of Thai people is cold water (naam yen).
The main principle of local cuisine is to achieve a balance of five tastes: sweet, sour, salty, bitter and poignant. Various ingredients are used for this purpose.
The two most characteristic of these are curry-based sauce and coconut milk. All kinds of sauces are considered a delicacy, their use depends on the type of dish or meat type. The most famous are kaeng massaman (includes cinnamon, peanuts and nutmeg); kaeng kheow waan (sweet and very hot sauce with greens); kaeng karee (served with potatoes).
An important nuance of the culinary traditions is the aesthetics of the dish. Making a filigree decor of vegetables and fruits (carving) has become a kind of art here.
All Thai dishes can be divided into four categories: quick-and well – fried or steamed dishes, as well as soups; spicy dishes – salads or fried dishes with different amounts of spices, often with the addition of coconut milk; salads – vegetable mixed with meat, the taste can be sweet, and sour but always spicy; cooked vegetables – usually sour, although you can meet them with a sweetish flavor.
Culture & traditions
In Thailand, you will find a wealth of nature perfectly combined with ancient history, culture and traditions. There are hundreds of islands, beaches, coves and capes. While planning your sailing vacations Thanks to tropical climate, beaches with pristine white sand, crystal clear waters, excellent coral reefs and wonderful palm trees. Add to this the friendliness of the Thai people, their magnificent culture and wonderful cuisine. No wonder in recent years it became one of the most popular sailing destinations in Asia.
This country has a long history. And during your sailing trip it may open some of its secrets. Over the long years of existence, the inhabitants of this country honor not only the monarch and the state charter, but also Buddhist norms. That is why in almost every part of the country you will meet small churches and chapels with centuries of history. There are a few tens of thousands of them all over the country.
Local people call their home a “land of freedom”, because “thai” means freedom, and it’s not just a coincidence. It is the only country in South-East Asia that has preserved its independence from European states, while all neighboring countries were once colonies of Great Britain or France. This helped to keep its intact beauty and uniqueness.
The main sailing area for yachting is the Andaman Sea, but if you want to get more acquainted with the historical monuments of the country, then the best choice will be the Gulf of Thailand.
Fans of nightlife should go to Bangkok and Pattaya. Discos, go-go bars, nightclubs every evening are filled with people looking for entertainment. Loud music, bright neon lights, noise and talk of passers-by create a specific atmosphere here.
An important part of Thai culture is traditional music. The Thais also attach great importance to the theater. Modern art (cinema, music) is very popular too.
An integral part of the way of life of the Thai people is the elephant. In the past, these animals were used in battles, transportation of trees, and today elephants mostly entertain tourists. The image of an elephant can be found even on the Thai flag. Worth visiting is the island of elephants Koh Chang.
While sailing do not forget to visit at least one the 80 national parks and 32 nature reserves. Khao Yai National Park is the most visited park in country. For those who like to watch birds, it’s worth going to Doi Suthep National Park, Doi Inthanon, or to Khao Sam Roi Yot Park in the south. There is the last preserved rain forest in the Khao Yai National Park, which is one of the best parks in the world.

What costs are included, and what is not in the charter fee?
The price of chartering a yacht with a crew usually includes using the boat for the agreed period and the crew’s service. The main additional costs not included in the price concern the A.P.A. and VAT.
A.P.A. (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) means a lump sum payment that covers all onboard expenses during a yacht charter, such as fuel, ports, food, drinks, etc. To these costs must be added the security deposit (on bareboat rental) and tips for the crew (at the discretion of the customer)
Payment terms
50% of the charter rate must be paid upon signature of the contract and the balance within 30 days before departure. Alternatively, 30% of the charter rate upon confirmation and 70% within 45 days before boarding.
Finally, in the case of full-crewed charters, the A.P.A. is always due together with the balance (30 or 45 days before departure).

Let’s answer the following few questions!
When will your Thailand yacht vacation take place?
Worldwide tourism costs depend mainly on the season you decide to leave. This is a valid law also for the boat and yacht charter world.
In Thailand, you must consider that the high season (the most expensive) runs from mid-November to April since, in this period, the climate is ideal, and the weather conditions are optimal for navigating these waters.
The late summer and autumn period is cheaper, but this is due to a marked worsening of the climatic conditions due to the arrival of the monsoons.
What kind of boat do you need?
According to the number of guests onboard, you will need a different kind of boat. This will highly affect the cost because a higher type of boat generally corresponds to a higher charter fee.
The type of boat you want to charter must meet your needs in terms of comfort and space required.
In general, there are four main types of boats, as follows:
Each boat has its characteristics and comforts, advantages, and trade-offs to keep in mind. Catamarans and motor yachts offer more comfort in terms of space, entertainment, and water games, so they are usually more expensive than classic monohulls.
Will you be sailing alone or with a crew onboard?
Deciding whether to have a crew on board and, if so, how many members is a crucial aspect that affects the final charter cost.
The choice depends on two main factors. The first concerns whether whoever hires the boat has a nautical license and/or navigation experience.
The second is instead linked to the size of the chartered boat.
In Thailand, the possibility of self-steering a boat is generally valid for sailboats or catamarans up to 50/52 feet in length. This is because, as a rule, for larger sizes, brokers require a crew on board, even if you are an experienced sailor (even if only a skipper).
What will be your Thailand yacht itinerary?
Thailand’s landscape includes thousands of miles of coast and ten of hundreds of islands.
This means that the costs of your journey will increase or decrease according to a longer or shorter boat itinerary.
A destination example could be the Koh Samui, Koh Pangan, and Koh Tao archipelago, which is easily accessible from Bangkok. Or the wonderful Phy Phy Island, reachable starting from Phuket or Krabi and sailing south.

The Made-to-Measure Mega Yacht Charter Experience
A vacation aboard a mega yacht signifies the best type of travel that the world has to offer. Accordingly, many of the private mega yachts do not publicly advertise their yacht charter availability, so please contact us for the full list of the finest boats currently available. Mega yachts are bespoke and individual in every way, often including the brokerage of the charter. You can also use our search box above to see a selection of some of the existing charter yachts and prices.
For your vacation you will receive a highly customised yacht charter itinerary and program with your individual wishes always coming first. Made-to-measure mega yacht charter itineraries, whether in the Mediterranean or Caribbean , are hand created based upon our customers’ demands, with professional assistance of our knowledgeable charter consultants. When you choose a boat to rent, your large yacht holiday will be personalised right down to the smallest details, from daily menus and beverages equivalent to those offered in Michelin-stared restaurants, right throughout to your favourite music selection and entertainment. A specific itinerary is carefully discussed to the smallest details, although it can be adjusted on daily basis based upon your mood and desires. Maybe you had a day-trip planned for the day, but after waking up in the morning you do not feel like walking around busy towns anymore, and instead you just want to relax on board, dipped in the Jacuzzi or sunbathe with a good book and a cocktail on hand. Everything can be arranged! The Captain and his crew will be working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure everything proceeds according to your requirements.
Your experience aboard a mega yacht could be seen as a multiplication of what you might have had on smaller luxury charter yachts. Not only that the yachts are bigger (much bigger, in fact huge), the service aboard is immaculate and extremely professional. The amenities are carefully hand-picked, custom made and of the utmost quality and craftsmanship. The food and beverages are sourced from the best producers and once again, of the highest quality. A private mega yacht charter represents simply the best of the best.
What does it Cost for a Charter Vacation?
If you haven’t chartered a mega yacht before you might wonder what could be the cost of renting such an opulent vessel for a week. Priced from about USD350,000 - USD400,000 per week right up to around USD1,000,000.00 and over you can take part in a one-of-a-kind, completely custom-made, lavish and bountiful vacation aboard a mega yacht. Tipping is also customary on mega yachts. The crew work tirelessly to ensure your vacation is a success. If you believe the service aboard the mega yacht, has been outstanding, a gratuity equal to 10% of the charter fee is acceptable. If the crew has been beyond exceptional, a higher discretionary figure may be warranted. A tip is generally distributed equally among the crew, by the captain. Whatever the price, this is the very best the world can offer in luxury travel experiences that no other vacation type will ever compare to.
The Charter Destinations
Luxury yachts are constantly on the move and available in various destinations around the globe. Distance is not an obstacle in this day and age and your entire journey to the yacht can be organised, including a private jet charter or a transfer from the airport to the nearest port where you will be greeted by the crew ready to accompany you aboard.
The most sought-after destinations for luxury mega yacht charter holidays are the Mediterranean during northern hemisphere’s summer season and the Caribbean during the winter season. Northern Europe is also increasingly popular as well as the more exotic South Pacific and Asia. A luxury charter enables you to have exclusive access to beautiful white-sand beaches and uninhabited islands, crystal-clear waters of turquoise and emerald-green, quaint little ports and historical towns or vibrant metropolitan cities.
From time to time selected yachts announce their intention to embark on a world-tour, with an approximate itinerary listing all the various stages and destinations. You can join the world tour at any stage, if availability permits, and stay aboard the yacht from one week, several weeks or even months, exploring the many wonders of this world. Some expedition-type yachts venture out to distant and remote ‘corners’ of the world, offering a very unique holiday for the more adventurous. These yachts may be equipped with high-tech laboratories, submarines and other necessary equipment to explore the given area - which may well be even Antarctica.
What is a Mega Yacht Exactly?
An exceptional build quality and the finest craftsmanship are the main characteristics of any charter mega yacht. These boats have been immaculately designed and constructed, providing the highest level of reliability, safety and comfort. Some of the most important builders that have launched mega yachts to date include: Feadship , Lurssen , Blohm+Voss , Dream Ship Victory , Amels , oceAnco , Pride Mega Yachts , Perini Navi, Nobiskrug , Royal Huisman, to name a few…
There is a continuously growing selection of these super-large yachts available on the market, however many of these yachts are private and they do not advertise charter availability. If you see a superyacht or a mega yacht that catches your eye, don’t hesitate to send us an email to discuss a possibility of a charter vacation. Owners of these vessels like to keep their ultra-luxurious yachts for private use, however many would consider an occasional yacht rental.
As the world of design continues to evolve, so does the complexity of mega yachts on the market. Naval architects and yacht designers are always on the hunt for the latest in technology, materials, design features and amenities. One of the current design trends is the increased use of glass allowing for better connection with the sea and the surrounding nature. There is a huge boom in aft and side decks expanding into balconies, massive beach clubs and wave piercing hulls. Practically no mega yacht is launched without a Spa Pool (or numerous Jacuzzis), an entire deck dedicated to the Owner’s use, a large tender garage, zero speed stabilisers and an abundance of spaces used for entertaining, relaxing, sunbathing or dining.
These boats are renowned for their ‘special features’ and customisation which could include anything from an entire deck area dedicated to a spa, complete with a hammam steam room, beauty saloon, massage room, a sauna; a helicopter deck that when not in use can transform into a soccer field or a basketball court, or even a discotheque. There is an increasing number of exclusive water toys, such as submarines, water jet packs, golf tees, waterslides or climbing walls.
A Mega Yacht Charter
The pinnacle of luxury yachts, a mega yacht charter holiday is regarded as the most opulent and extravagant ways of travelling. Although there is a fine line that divides mega yachts from superyachts , and although different terminology tends to be favoured on different sides of the Atlantic, vessels referred to as ‘mega yachts’ are usually well above 60 metres (200 feet), with some yachts reaching three times this size; an example being the 162.5m Eclipse yacht or the 180m (590’4’’) mega yacht AZZAM . Rumours have it that a new 222m mega yacht TRIPLE DEUCE is also in making waves in the nautical world. Luxury mega yachts provide no less than impeccable naval architecture and design, state-of-the-art marine technology, lavish interior and exterior decor, the best in guest entertainment and an amazing array of recreational amenities and toys. The crew aboard these vessels have been selected upon strict requirements, based on their previous yachting experience, references and acquired professional skills. One of the main characteristics of a private mega yacht charter is the exceptional level of professional and refined service, respectful of privacy and high-demands of customers.
A mega yacht vacation is a truly unique experience - the Queen of any luxury vacation. This spectacular journey allows you to enjoy your precious time with your family and friends in utmost luxury and most importantly privacy, safety and comfort.
