Salma Hayek stuns in new bikini photos as she enjoys sun soaked holiday aboard luxury yacht

The frida star recently celebrated her 57th birthday.

Salma Hayek was the epitome of glamour as she soaked up the sun on a luxurious yacht in Ibiza this weekend. 

The stunning actress , who recently celebrated her 57th birthday, flaunted her incredible figure in a vibrant yellow bikini, proving once again that age is just a number.

The Frida star looked absolutely radiant with her hair styled in playful braids, exuding both elegance and a youthful spirit. 

As she posed effortlessly on the deck of the yacht, the Spanish flag fluttered in the background, perfectly framing her sun-kissed beauty.

Salma captioned her Instagram post in both English and Spanish, sharing her playful confidence with her millions of followers: "Yellow bikini + White hair = perfect combination," she wrote, followed by, "Bikini amarillo + Cabello blanco = combinación perfecta."

It’s clear that Salma is living her best life, having spent the month of August indulging in the ultimate European summer. 

From gliding across the turquoise waters of Ibiza to basking in the luxury of various yachts and pools in France and Spain, the actress has been enjoying some well-deserved downtime with her husband, François-Henri Pinault, 62.

Salma has always been open about her secrets to staying fit and fabulous, and it’s no surprise that her glowing appearance is the result of her dedication to wellness. 

The Magic Mike's Last Dance star has previously shared that she practices restorative yoga, enjoys juice cleanses, and takes daily walks with her beloved dogs, whom she affectionately calls her "trainers."

Reflecting on her journey, Salma once told Glamour, "I thought getting older meant I wasn't going to work. I'm working. I thought getting older maybe meant that you're not in love anymore. I'm in love." 

She continued with her trademark wit and resilience, saying, "I don't feel that I lost my flexibility or my agility or even my strength... Hell, I'm still going. Shocker. I'm still here. They tried to get rid of me a thousand ways. I'm still here."

Indeed, Salma’s life is one that many would envy. She and François-Henri, the CEO of the luxury group Kering—known for owning iconic brands like Gucci, Balenciaga, and Yves Saint Laurent—have been married since 2009. 

The couple shares a 16-year-old daughter, Valentina, who is growing up to be just as beautiful and poised as her famous mother.

In a candid interview with Vogue Arabia earlier this year, Salma opened up about her marriage to François-Henri, a man who has not only supported her but also enriched her understanding of the fashion world. 

Sitting alongside her close friend and fellow actress, Penélope Cruz, Salma reflected on how her relationship with the fashion mogul has influenced her style. "Some of my friends joke and ask, 'How did you land this guy?'" she said with a laugh.

Salma went on to discuss how her approach to fashion has evolved since marrying François-Henri. "It did change my relationship with fashion because it gave me an insider's view on a lot of the interesting parts of fashion," she explained. "It's not just about going shopping, which I'm not a big fan of. I have a different appreciation for it, so now I enjoy it more."

But Salma’s life with François-Henri isn’t just about glamorous events and designer clothes. Their love story is also one of family and connection. 

When the couple said "I do" in a romantic ceremony in Paris, Salma became a loving stepmother to François-Henri’s three children from previous relationships: François, 26, and Mathilde, 23, from his marriage to Dorothée Lepère, and Augustin, 17, whom he shares with supermodel Linda Evangelista.

Invictus yachts and anna fendi.

In March 2018 Invictus Yachts and Anna Fendi, designer, entrepreneur and co-founder of the eponymous fashion brand, announced a new partnership which will see Fendi design a special edition of one of the builder's top models. While the project is being kept under wraps until an official launch on March 23, with only the cryptic image above released so far, it is known that Christian Grande will take care of the exterior design while the interior decor will be by Anna Fendi and feature bold contrasting colours and bespoke furnishings inspired by vintage voyages at sea.

Nautor's Swan and BMW

To mark the 25th anniversary of BMW Individual, the bespoke arm of the famous German car marque, in 2017 the brand teamed up with Nautor's Swan to create the BMW Individual M760Li. Based on the BMW M760Li xDrive V12 Excellence, the one-off model is inspired by Swan's classic sailing yachts with the Finnish builder even producing certain elements, including the car's teak boot floor panel, teak trims, entry sills and floor mats - by hand at its workshop in western Finland to ensure the M760Li has a true sense of yachting flair. The car's aesthetics are further enhanced by its damask red exterior and Merino leather interior in smoke white and Criolli brown, discreetly embossed with the Nautor's Swan logo throughout. On the technical side, a 6.6 litre V12 engine provides a sporty drive with an acceleration of 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds.

Columbus Yachts and Cesare Attolini

Bonded by their shared Neapolitan heritage, Columbus Yachts - part of the Palumbo Group - and fine Italian tailor Cesare Attolini unveiled their partnership at the Monaco Yacht Show 2016 . Finding common ground in their eponymous family names and their shared values of excellence, expertise and a wish to find custom solution to the problems of every client, the partnership saw Cesare Attolini dress Palumbo's Monaco Yacht Show representatives as well as display a range of nautically themed clothing on board 40 metre superyacht Divine . Just the first step in what the two companies hope will be a long and fruitful collaboration, expect many more exciting announcements to come.

Benetti and Kiton

Another collaboration between a builder and a fashion brand is the perfect demonstration of the way the yachting and luxury industries are intertwined. Benetti  joined forces with Italian tailoring brand Kiton in 2016 to offer customers a range of exclusive experiences during the Cannes, Monaco , Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Dubai, Singapore and Hong Kong yacht shows. Each brand's top clients were offered the opportunity to enjoy a private visit to the Kiton premises in Naples and the Benetti yard in Viareggio as well as access to Benetti's Yachtique styling lounges to become fully submerged in the superyacht experience.

Trussardi and Dynamiq

In October 2015  Dynamiq  announced it would be working with high-end Italian fashion brand Trussardi on an exclusive interior design collection for the D4 series. The first yacht to benefit from this collaboration will be the 39 metre Jetsetter , the first hull in the D4 range, with options including chairs, sofas, carpets, fabrics, lights and décor for all open decks and guest areas.

LVMH and Princess Yachts

LVMH, one of the world's largest fashion and luxury conglomerates, acquired British builder Princess Yachts in 2008 and immediately put its high-end stamp on new releases. Those looking to buy the 30 or 35 metre versions of Princess' popular M class range can opt for interiors by Armani Casa or Fendi (pictured) and accessories from De Beers and Moet & Chandon, while owners of the 40 metre 40M class may also wish to buy the matching set of Louis Vuitton luggage.

Weyves, Thierry Mugler and Elie Saab

Working in partnership with luxury goods agency Agent de Luxe, Weyves Yacht has collaborated with not one but two high-end fashion designers. Created through the Wyves Couture Concept division, the first collaboration came in the form of an interior refit for the super fast Gentry Eagle  with French couturier Thierry Mugler in 2008.

A second, more ambitious project soon followed. Working alongside Dutch builder Oceanco and Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab, Weyves unveiled the concept for the 117 metre Elie Saab ES117 yacht (Oceanco hull number DP095, pictured above) in 2010. The fashionable yacht concept has yet to be built – if it had been, Saab would have put his distinctive touch on both the exterior and interior design of the boat. A helicopter, submarine, car and water toys all signed by the designer were also part of the superyacht package.

Hermes and Wally

When Monaco-based yacht maker Wally teamed up with French leather goods company Hermes, they went as a far as establishing their own business – WHY Wally-Hermes Yachts – to realise their vision of a new form of sea-based luxury lifestyle.

The company’s initial concept stood somewhere between a private island and a superyacht with a length of 58 metres and a beam of 38 metres. Features included 900 square metres of photovoltaic panels for sustainable solar energy, a wide open-ended aft deck, Hermes interiors and furniture, a helipad and a spiral staircase leading to huge, airy living spaces. However, Hermes pulled out of the project in 2010 stating that it felt technically out of its depth and that it was best for the reins to be handed over to Wally. The yacht builder has yet to move the project past concept stage.

Riva and Gucci

As part of Gucci’s 90th anniversary celebrations in 2011, the Italian fashion house teamed up with Riva Yachts to create the Aquariva by Gucci. All boats are made to order in a custom design by (now ex-) Gucci creative director Frida Giannini which includes a mahogany wood interior, the iconic Guccissima pattern on seats and sundeck and detailing in Gucci’s famous green and red signature shades. Giannini also designed a Riva apparel collection to match the yacht which included duffel bags, footwear and numerous nautical accessories.

How Emily In Paris Used the Glamour of the Fashion Industry to Segue Into the #MeToo Conversation

Emily in Paris reclaimed its spot as one of Netflix’s “Top TV Shows” with the debut of the first part of its fourth season this past August. This time, the bold fashion of Emily, Mindy, and Sylvie and other characters were accompanied by a more serious plotline about the dark side of the beauty and fashion industry.

In Season 3, Episode 8, “Fashion Victim,” Léon looks Sylvie up and down and says “Hmph, I remember when you were just an assistant… and you’re just as feisty and beautiful now as you were then. I’m happy to see you haven’t changed.” Sylvie responds, “I remember you when I was just an assistant too. I remember everything… and I certainly hope you have changed” As she says this, Léon’s smirk disappears and he looks away. He agrees to help Sylvie with a business dilemma involving his son, Nicolas, with the contingency that moving forward, Sylvie will only remember him as “a respectful man.” 

Another favorite of Emily in Paris , Mindy Chen, is also an integral part of this subplot. Mindy isn’t only known for her up-and-coming singing career and duty as Emily’s best friend, but she’s also a symbol for unabashed femininity. Her continuing romance with Nicolas, paired with a fight about Léon covertly slut-shaming Mindy, places her in perhaps the most alluring yet dangerous place in all of the show: The JVMA Brand closet. 

While shopping in the closet, Mindy is greeted by two women and they caution her about the dangers of being a woman alone at JVMA. Mindy later confides to Emily what she learned: The JVMA closet is a place synonymous with Léon’s abuse of power and quid pro quo sexual harassment of younger, female JVMA employees.

Aside from Emily in Paris, representation of sexual misconduct in the fashion realm is sparse. The iconic rom-com Sex and The City, also created by Emily in Paris executive producer Darren Star, briefly touched on this subject in its fifth season when a Vogue editor exposed himself to lead character Carrie Bradshaw in a fashion closet, a moment she kept to herself. Carrie’s decision to not talk about her closet incident was the complete opposite of what Sylvie’s and Emily in Paris are proposing.

So far, Emily in Paris ’ attempt to talk about important issues like the #MeToo movement has been applauded, though there has been some controversy about how well it was executed. Many proponents of this story arc argue that the storyline illuminates the #MeToo movement to a younger audience. Before we know it, Gen Z will become the biggest population of the workforce, and as a major consumer of Emily in Paris, awareness in this matter could lead to a safer workplace. Fans on Reddit also call Mindy and Sylvie “icons for speaking out against sexism and abuse” in an unapologetic manner. The way this subplot unfolds also counteracts the victim stereotype that often — and unfortunately — accompanies survivors speaking up. The biggest difference one can see is how discreet this plot was, compared to the theatrical aesthetic that Emily in Paris is known for . 

Despite the important storyline, Emily in Paris ’ cast also acknowledges that the show isn’t trying to be the spokesperson for sexual harassment in the fashion industry.”I don’t pretend to be the character that’s going to inspire anyone to do this, the people already doing it,” Leroy-Beaulieu told Today . “I just think, you know, it’s important to remind people that, yeah, we don’t have to take these things.” Despite the glitz and glam of the fashion industry, Sylvie is a reminder that that doesn’t make it foolproof of gender inequality and sexual harassment—and by no means does it warrant a silent acceptance of such issues.

Fashion makes for great eye candy on film and TV, whether it’s a storytelling vehicle as seen in the TV hit “Emily in Paris,” a documentary take like this year’s “High & Low: John Galliano” or just window dressing, as seen in “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans.”

Coming this fall 2024 is a new set of anticipated releases. Here are the top four standouts. There’s something for everyone:

A Stylish Sequel With Mucho Merch: “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice”

Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood, who frequently collaborates with Burton and has worked on “Alice in Wonderland” and “Edward Scissorhands” among other projects, created the wardrobe for the film — a lineup of gothic ensembles that’s sure to keep the black-and-white fashion color trend going. Atwood has also collaborated with Primark on a collection inspired by the film, including Beetlejuice’s iconic black-and-white suit and an updated take on the red wedding dress from Lydia Deetz’s pasts.

“Succession,” but Make It Fashion: “La Maison” Coming Sept. 20

Set in Paris and following rival families working in luxury fashion, “La Maison” on Apple TV+ promises to plenty of drama and style, showcasing the industry’s glamorous and competitive world. Coming out Sept. 20 will be the first two episodes, followed by one episode weekly every Friday. The French-language production brings together an ensemble that includes Lambert Wilson, Amira Casar, Carole Bouquet, Zita Hanrot, Pierre Deladonchamps, Antoine Reinartz, Anne Consigny, Florence Loiret Caille and Ji-Min Park.

An Emotional Biopic With a Model Twist: “Lee” Coming Sept. 27

Directed by Ellen Kuras, “Lee” first premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September of last year. Winslet, also a producer on the project, is joined by an all-star cast that also includes Marion Cotillard, Alexander Skarsgård, Andrea Riseborough, Noémie Merlant and Josh O’Connor.

A Fantasy Friendship With Pop Star Power: “Wicked” Coming Nov. 22

Costume designer Paul Tazewell is behind the bold looks of “Wicked,” the American stage musical coming to the big screen starring actress-singer Cynthia Erivo and pop star Ariana Grande as witches Elphaba and Glinda, the most unlikely of friends. They are joined by actors Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater and many more. Tazewell has made a name for himself working on “West Side Story” and “Harriet,” as well as on Broadway on “Hamilton” and “The Color Purple.”

Releasing in theaters Nov. 22, directed by Jon M. Chu and written by playwright and screenwriter Winnie Holzman, “Wicked” is part one of the two part film adaptation of the famed musical by Holzman and composer-lyricist Stephen Schwartz. The latter is based on Gregory Maguire’s 1995 novel “Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West” — which takes inspiration from L. Frank Baum’s classic children’s book “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.”

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay Packers will kick off their 2024 NFL season in São Paulo on Friday, Sept. 6. Here’s what you need to know, including the most important thing of all: What channel will you find the game?

What Time is Packers-Eagles Kickoff?

7:15 p.m. Central (9:15 p.m. local time).

Where’s the Game?

Corinthians Arena in São Paulo. It will seat about 49,000 fans.

How to Watch Packers-Eagles

The game will air on NBC Universal’s Peacock Network. Noah Eagle will do play-by-play, former NFL quarterback Todd Blackledge will provide the analysis and Kaylee Hartung will report from the sideline.

For fans in Wisconsin, the game will air on WGBA-TV Channel 26 in Green Bay and WTMJ-TV Channel 4 in Milwaukee. That’s it.

It can also be streamed on NFL+.

“Both teams have exciting, dynamic quarterbacks in Jordan Love and Jalen Hurts, but two teams that last year in the second half of the year just kind of went in different directions,” Blackledge said during a conference call.

The game will have fewer traditional commercial breaks.

“We’ll do what’s called sort of a ‘studio takeover,’ and not go to a traditional commercial but stay at the field and deliver additional content while not going to a traditional break,” coordinating producer Rob Hyland said on the call.

“We think we can provide the viewers, like we did last year in Los Angeles, with additional football content during some of the TV timeouts to keep viewers more engaged in this period. I think there are three of those instances in Brazil.”

Plus, all head coaches will be required to do in-game interviews with sideline reporters. 

Are the Packers Favored?

Nope. The Eagles are 2.5-point favorites at FanDuel Sportsbook with an over/under of 48.5 at FanDuel Sportsbook. Those were the original posted odds and have not changed. Jordan Love’s over/unders are 256.5 passing yards and 1.5 touchdowns. For the backs, Josh Jacobs’ over/under is 65.5 yards, which is 1 more yard than the Eagles’ Saquon Barkley.

For the season, the Eagles’ over/under is 10.5 wins while the Packers’ is 9.5.

Packers-Eagles Injury Reports

Official injury reports will come out on Sunday, when the teams return to the practice field. However, here’s what we know.

Packers: When the team went out to practice on Wednesday (reporters weren’t present on Thursday), rookie RB MarShawn Lloyd (hamstring) rode an exercise bike rather than go through warmups with his teammates. Every other player on the 53-man roster appeared ready to practice.

Eagles: According to Ed Kracz, who covers Philadelphia for Eagles On SI , TE Dallas Goedert and outside linebacker Jalyx Hunt (obliques) haven’t practiced for the last week and CB Isaiah Rodgers (undisclosed) has been out, as well. Rookie receiver Johnny Wilson is recovering from a concussion.

CB James Bradberry (lower leg) was placed on IR and safety Sydney Brown (knee) is on PUP.

The Packers will wear their traditional home uniforms while the Eagles will go with white jerseys and black pants and helmets.

The Packers will be safe in green, contrary to Internet legend fueled by Josh Jacobs.

Packers-Eagles History

The Packers lead the series 28-18. That includes Philadelphia winning two of the three playoff matchups.

In their last game, the Eagles embarrassed the Packers 40-33 on Nov. 27, 2022. The Eagles rushed for 363 yards, which was the sixth-most in a game since the 2000 season and the most over the previous 15 seasons. Quarterback Jalen Hurts rushed for 157 yards and running back Miles Sanders added 143.

This, of course, was the game in which Aaron Rodgers was knocked out with injured ribs and Jordan Love came off the bench and was 6-of-9 for 113 yards.

Business Trip

The long trip to Brazil might not be the ideal way to kick off the season, but it sure beats having to play in Philadelphia.

“Obviously going to Brazil’s exciting,” Packers special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia said. “I’d much rather play them in Brazil than play them on Philly.”

This will not be a sight-seeing tour for the teams. Indeed, it’s all about business.

“They just kind of told us to stay in the hotel and stay in that area,” Eagles offensive lineman Nick Gates said. “We're there to play a football game and that's kind of what they ended at. We're there for any two days. Business trip. Go in, hopefully get a win, and go home.”

Three Excellent Packers-Eagles Stats

One: Last year, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts threw 15 interceptions. That was the third-most in the NFL. Also last year, Green Bay’s defense intercepted seven passes, second-fewest in the NFL.

Two: Packers QB Jordan Love ranked second in the NFL with 32 touchdown passes last season. The Eagles allowed 35 passing touchdowns, almost second-most.

Three: During the Matt LaFleur era, the Packers have allowed a league-worst 4.7 yards per rushing attempt. During the preseason – which may or may not mean anything – the Packers ranked second with 3.4 yards allowed per rushing attempt.

Apple TV+ debuts trailer for new French-language fashion saga and family drama “La Maison”

Today, Apple TV+ unveiled the trailer for “La Maison,” the upcoming French-language family drama set within an iconic Paris-based high-fashion atelier. A behind-the-scenes look at the contemporary, ever-evolving world of fashion and aspirational French elegance and luxury, “La Maison” follows two illustrious, dysfunctional and powerful rival families as they vie for dominance in the cutthroat world of high fashion. The 10-episode original series will make its global debut with the first two episodes on Friday, September 20, 2024 on Apple TV+, followed by one episode weekly on Fridays through November 15, 2024.

Where Kamala Harris Stands on the Issues: Abortion, Immigration and More

She wants to protect the right to abortion nationally. Here’s what else to know about her positions.

With Vice President Kamala Harris having replaced President Biden on the Democratic ticket, her stances on key issues will be scrutinized by both parties and the nation’s voters.

She has a long record in politics: as district attorney of San Francisco, as attorney general of California, as a senator, as a presidential candidate and as vice president.

Here is an overview of where she stands.

Ms. Harris supports legislation that would protect the right to abortion nationally, as Roe v. Wade did before it was overturned in 2022, in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.

After the Dobbs ruling, she became central to the Biden campaign’s efforts to keep the spotlight on abortion, given that Mr. Biden — with his personal discomfort with abortion and his support for restrictions earlier in his career — was a flawed messenger. In March, she made what was believed to be the first official visit to an abortion clinic by a president or vice president.

She consistently supported abortion rights during her time in the Senate, including cosponsoring legislation that would have banned common state-level restrictions, like requiring doctors to perform specific tests or have hospital admitting privileges in order to provide abortions.

As a presidential candidate in 2019, she argued that states with a history of restricting abortion rights in violation of Roe should be subject to what is known as pre-clearance for new abortion laws — those laws would have to be federally approved before they could take effect. That proposal is not viable now that the Supreme Court has overturned Roe.

Climate change

Ms. Harris has supported the Biden administration’s climate efforts , including legislation that provided hundreds of billions of dollars in tax credits and rebates for renewable energy and electric vehicles.

“It is clear the clock is not just ticking, it is banging,” she said in a speech last year , referring to increasingly severe and frequent disasters spurred by climate change. “And that is why, one year ago, President Biden and I made the largest climate investment in America’s history.”

During her 2020 presidential campaign, she emphasized the need for environmental justice , a framework that calls for policies to address the adverse effects that climate change has on poor communities and people of color. She has emphasized that as vice president as well.

In 2019, Ms. Harris, then a senator, and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Democrat of New York, introduced legislation that would have evaluated environmental rules and laws by how they affected low-income communities. It would have also established an independent Office of Climate and Environmental Justice Accountability and created a “senior adviser on climate justice” within several federal agencies. In 2020, Ms. Harris introduced a more sweeping version of the bill. None of the legislation was passed.

Ms. Harris was tasked with leading the Biden administration’s efforts to secure voting rights legislation, a job she asked for . The legislation — which went through several iterations but was ultimately blocked in the Senate — would have countered voting restrictions in Republican-led states, limited gerrymandering and regulated campaign finance more strictly.

This year, she met with voting rights advocates and described a strategy that included creating a task force on threats to election workers and challenging state voting restrictions in court.

She has condemned former President Donald J. Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election results. In a speech in 2022 marking the anniversary of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, she said that day had showed “what our nation would look like if the forces who seek to dismantle our democracy are successful.” She added, “What was at stake then, and now, is the right to have our future decided the way the Constitution prescribes it: by we the people, all the people.”

Economic policy

In campaign events this year, Ms. Harris has promoted the Biden administration’s economic policies, including the infrastructure bill that Mr. Biden signed, funding for small businesses, a provision in the Inflation Reduction Act that capped the cost of insulin for people on Medicare and student debt forgiveness.

She indicated at an event in May that the administration’s policies to combat climate change would also bring economic benefits by creating jobs in the renewable energy industry. At another event , she promoted more than $100 million in Energy Department grants for auto parts manufacturers to pivot to electric vehicles, which she said would “help to keep our auto supply chains here in America.”

As a senator, she introduced legislation that would have provided a tax credit of up to $6,000 for middle- and low-income families, a proposal she emphasized during her presidential campaign as a way to address income inequality.

Immigration

One of Ms. Harris’s mandates as vice president has been to address the root causes of migration from Latin America, like poverty and violence in migrants’ home countries. Last year, she announced $950 million in pledges from private companies to support Central American communities. Similar commitments made previously totaled about $3 billion.

In 2021, she visited the U.S.-Mexico border and said : “This issue cannot be reduced to a political issue. We’re talking about children, we’re talking about families, we are talking about suffering.”

More recently, she backed a bipartisan border security deal that Mr. Biden endorsed but Mr. Trump, by urging Republican lawmakers to kill it , effectively torpedoed. The legislation would have closed the border if crossings reached a set threshold, and it would have funded thousands of new border security agents and asylum officers. “We are very clear, and I think most Americans are clear, that we have a broken immigration system and we need to fix it,” Ms. Harris said in March .

Israel and Gaza

Ms. Harris called in March for an “immediate cease-fire” in Gaza and described the situation there as a “humanitarian catastrophe.” She said that “the threat Hamas poses to the people of Israel must be eliminated” but also that “too many innocent Palestinians have been killed.”

In an interview later that month , she emphasized her opposition to an Israeli invasion of Rafah, the city in southern Gaza to which more than a million people had fled. “I have studied the maps,” she said. “There’s nowhere for those folks to go, and we’re looking at about 1.5 million people in Rafah who are there because they were told to go there, most of them.”

She has said on multiple occasions that she supports a two-state solution.

Racial justice

Racial justice was a theme of Ms. Harris’s presidential campaign. In a memorable debate exchange in 2019 , she denounced Mr. Biden’s past work with segregationist senators and opposition to school busing mandates.

She has called for ending mandatory minimum sentences, cash bail and the death penalty, which disproportionately affect people of color.

Amid the protests that followed the police killing of George Floyd in 2020, she was one of the senators who introduced the Justice in Policing Act, which would have made it easier to prosecute police officers, created a national registry of police misconduct and required officers to complete training on racial profiling. It was not passed.

Her record as a prosecutor also came into play during her presidential campaign. Critics noted that as attorney general of California, she had generally avoided stepping in to investigate police killings.

David and Victoria Beckham Share Kiss on Yacht During Italian Vacation

D avid Beckham and Victoria Beckham have turned their marriage into an empire, supporting each other through all sorts of career changes and developments. They’ve been together for over 25 years, marrying only two years after meeting, and now share four children: Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper.

While they’ve had some public challenges, they seem to have overcome them all and talk openly about the work that goes into a long-term marriage. It also seems like they were enamored with one another from the start. David said he wanted to marry Victoria back when he first saw her as Posh Spice with the Spice Girls on TV, and she claimed to experience “love at first sight” after spotting her future husband at the Manchester United players’ lounge.

Here’s the complete relationship timeline of their long love story.

During an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show , David described their first meeting back in 1997, saying, “She came to a football match—soccer match—and I said hi from across the room and that was it. I thought I’d missed my chance, and then a week later she turned up at another football match. She had a few to drink, and she gave me her number.”

It was memorable for Victoria, too. She wrote a letter to her 18-year-old self for Vogue that promised “love at first sight does exist,” telling her past self that “it will happen to you in the Manchester United players’ lounge…Although you will get a little drunk, so exact details are hazy.”

She went on, “While the other football players stand at the bar drinking with their mates, you will see David standing aside with his family. (He’s not even in the first team at this stage—you are the famous one.) And he has such a cute smile. You, too, are close to your family, and you will think how similar he feels to you.”

In an interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show , David shared more details, saying, “We talked for about an hour in the players’ lounge and then she actually got the train up that day, so she wrote her number down on her train ticket, which I still have.”

They soon went on their first date.

January 1998

Just one year later, they were engaged, celebrating the new year with the news and that the wedding was planned for summer 1999. But before the end of the year, they were expecting their first child.

On March 4, 1999, their oldest son Brooklyn Joseph was born. In her 2001 autobiography, Learning to Fly , Victoria shared how they came up with his name.

“It was when we were in Marbella [Spain] that we came up with the name Brooklyn. We already knew he was a boy and so I knew he could end up a footballer, so it had to be a name that was a bit blokey,” she wrote. “I had always liked the name Brooke and then we suddenly thought about Brooklyn. I’d always liked it as a place — it’s very multi-cultural, very grounded. And it was only afterwards that I realized how appropriate it was because it was in New York that I found out I was pregnant.”

They were officially wed that summer at Luttrellstown Castle close to Dublin. Victoria wore a Vera Wang gown and an 18-karat gold tiara.

September 2002

In 2002, they announced they were expecting their second child, and Romeo James came into the world on September 1, 2002.

In 2003, David signed a four-year contract with Real Madrid, and the entire family moved over to Spain.

February 2004

They welcomed their third son, Cruz David, on February 20, 2005, while still living in Madrid.

“We’ve got a baby boy. His name is Cruz,” David told reporters at the time. “He is beautiful. He is in there with his brothers now, and he is very happy.”

After Real Madrid, David signed a new contract in 2007 with the LA Galaxy, and they headed back to the States together to a home in Beverly Hills.

“It will be especially nice for the children,” Victoria told People then. “To be able to be outdoors so much of the time will be wonderful.”

August 2007

In a profile on W Magazine , they discussed the rumor David had an affair in 2004.

“I’m not going to lie. It was a really rough time … David and I got through it together,” Victoria said. “No one said marriage was going to be easy. Yes, there have been bumps along the road. But the fact is we’ve come out of everything we’ve been through stronger and happier. It’s even better now than when we were first married. After all these years, we can just come home and have a laugh together.”

David shared more about what keeping the marriage together takes during an interview at The Ellen DeGeneres Show .

“We’ve got three beautiful boys, which is our priority, but I think … in a marriage, you make it work, and you have to make time for each other,” he said . “And we do that. So I think that’s important.”

He also shared when he first saw Victoria performing, watching the Spice Girls on TV.

“I was in a hotel room with my best friend, who was my best man at my wedding,” he said. “I remember turning around—before I’d even met Victoria — and said, ‘I want to marry that one.’”

Victoria’s menswear fashion line was developed with her husband in mind, according to a letter she published on her website

“The dVb mens collection has just launched, and who better than David to be my muse!” she wrote. “I am looking forward to the brand developing … I have many ideas; patience is something I’m trying to learn but haven’t got to grips with as yet!”

September 2009

To celebrate their 10-year anniversary, David got a tattoo in honor of his wife.

“I had 10 roses ’round my arm, for the 10 years,” he told DeGeneres. “We always try and do things special, you know. It’s not always about buying gifts for each other, of course. We just make sure that we make time together or go for dinner together and do special things. That’s important to us.”

October 2010

In an interview with Marie Claire UK , she was asked about David’s notably “high voice," answering, “I don’t really notice that he’s got a high-pitched voice. I just think he’s so god damn perfect that people have to find something wrong with him.”

She went on, “We were about to go out somewhere the other day, and he was sending an email. He was sitting at the end of the bed, and he had no clothes on whatsoever. He was getting out of the shower, and I just stood there looking at him. He was all tan. Has all those tattoos—which I love. Hadn’t done his hair. He just naturally looks good all the time. He never looks like s*** in the morning. Never. So he’s sitting there sending his emails, all ripped. Not an ounce of fat on him. And I thought, ‘You done good, girl.’ I sure wasn’t thinking of his high-pitched voice!”

The couple welcomed their first baby girl, Harper Seven, on July 10, 2011.

November 2011

Victoria won a designer brand award at the 2011 British Fashion Awards. She got emotional during her speech, saying, “Without David, I wouldn’t have had the courage to do what I am doing.”

David left LA Galaxy to play briefly with Paris Saint-Germain. In 2013, he retired from soccer. The couple moved to London together.

In an interview with Grazia , Victoria addressed rumors that she and might be splitting up.

“David and I have nothing to prove,” she said. “We love each other, look out for each other and are strong as both partners and parents.”

She went on, “My husband constantly inspires me and guides me,” she shared. “He has done so much good work, I look up to him and have the utmost respect and admiration for all that he has achieved.”

November 2015

In her thank you speech after winning Glamour Women of the Year award in 2015, Victoria thanked her husband.

“Running a business, my work with UNAIDS and most importantly, being a mum, wouldn’t be possible without David,” she said. “Not only is he the most incredible father, but he’s supportive and someone who loves and inspires me every single day.”

January 2017

The couple renewed their wedding vows, which David discussed in an interview with BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs.

“It was a lot more private, about six people there in our house,” he said. “We know each other better than anybody. People have talked about, ‘Do we stay together because it’s a brand?’ Of course not. We stay together because we love each other, because we have four amazing children … Do you go through tough times? Of course. That’s part of relationships. It’s part of marriages.”

More rumors of a divorce circulated in summer 2018, and their rep told People it was nonsense. Victoria shared a picture soon after of herself with daughter Harper and a caption about how much they were missing dad.

Victoria said more about the rumors in an interview with British Vogue , saying, “People have been making things up about our relationship for 20 years, so David and I are pretty used to ignoring the nonsense and just carrying on as normal. But these things have a wider effect on the people around us, and that’s unfair.”

She added, “Would either of us be in the position that we are in now had we not met and been together all those years ago? It’s all about the family unit. We respect that family bond and that is key.”

October 2018

While talking with The Sunday Project ’s Lisa Wilkinson, David shared some thoughts on maintaining a long marriage.

“I think marriage is always about hard work,” he said. “To have been married for the amount of time that we have, you know it’s always hard work, everybody knows that, but you make it work, you make difficult situations, like traveling away, being away from each other, you make it work.”

He added, “We recently did a Vogue front cover, which was all about Victoria’s 10 years in fashion. The amount she’s achieved in such a short space of time with four beautiful young children … but obviously her business world, you know, to be on the front cover of Vogue , was a huge thing.”

On their 20th anniversary, they each shared loving tributes on Instagram about one another.

October 2019

While on The View, Victoria called David her “soulmate.”

“Obviously, he’s incredibly good-looking, but David is the most wonderful husband and fantastic father and a real inspiration to all of us,” she said. “He’s hardworking … I’m lucky to have him as my soulmate.”

January 2021

Victoria wrote an open letter to her future self for British Vogue , much like her letter to her 18-year-old self. In it, she discussed dressing up during COVID-19 lockdown for David.

“You’ve said f*** it, and put on a great dress and a smoky eye. You always liked to surprise people—especially David. Preserving that bit of mystique is always helpful after almost 22 years of marriage. (What anniversary are you celebrating now?)”

February 2022

On Valentine’s Day in 2022, Victoria shared a picture from the day they found out they were expecting their son Brooklyn.

“1998 in NYC! And still my Valentine 24 years later,” she captioned the pic. “Taken on the day we found out I was pregnant with @brooklynbeckham! I love you @davidbeckham.”

David wished a “Happy valentines to my girls,” including pics of his wife and daughter, Harper.

On April 9, 2022, Brooklyn married his girlfriend of two years, Nicola Peltz. Victoria and David walked down the aisle together.

On July 4, 2022, it was their 23rd wedding anniversary.

December 2023

Victoria spoke to Allure about the reception to the Beckham docu-series and the British public’s reckoning with how they treated the couple. “The other night, me and David drove to our country house and went to the local pub,” she said, adding when they got back to their car, “someone had put a note under the windscreen wiper: ‘Dear Posh and Becks, On behalf of all the British football fans, we are sorry.’ David joked, ‘We need to go out and lap this up more often.’”

“Cruz, our youngest son, said, ‘Wow, I had no idea Dad was so good at football,’” she added. “It made me laugh, when I come up on the screen: ‘David Beckham’s wife.’ Brilliant.”

She addressed the way she was portrayed, saying, “When you put a control freak in a situation where she’s not in control, of course that’s quite uncomfortable. But I think people then saw the real me. If I’d been all over it in a controlling way—how do I look from this angle?—maybe the outcome would’ve been very different.”

Later that month, she shared a thirst trap photo of David for fun: “Electrician came to fix the TV…..You’re welcome! 😂 @davidbeckham.”

On New Year’s Eve, David shared a photo of him and Victoria at lunch with her parents. He poked fun at Victoria’s viral “working class” moment from his documentary series in the caption. “Just a nice casual New Year’s Eve lunch at The Ritz ❤️ @victoriabeckham Very working class 😂 My mother & father in law left in there [sic] Roll’s 🤎” he wrote.

She ignored the joke and commented on his post, “Special NY Eve I love you xxxxxxx”

On Saturday, April 20, Victoria celebrated her 50th birthday in London at Mayfair private members club Oswald’s. The event included a bunch of big name celebrities, including Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Jason Statham, Marc Anthony, Nadia Ferreira, Gordon and Tana Ramsay, Eva Longoria, Tom Cruise, and Salma Hayek.

It also included all of her fellow Spice Girls, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown, and Emma Bunton. The group even performed one their hits, “Stop,” which David caught on camera.

A friend of the family told the Daily Mail , “It meant the world to Victoria that they were all there. They were a huge part of her life and they shared so much together. These were special days and so of course to have them there to mark her 50th was just wonderful for her. It made everything so perfect.”

In the early hours of the next morning, Victoria was photographed being carried by David from the venue while giggling, wearing sunglasses and, in some photos, his suit jacket. The star recently injured her foot which made it difficult to walk in heels.

David apparently gave a moving speech at the gathering to honor his wife. A source told The Sun , “There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as they spoke about their love for the pop songstress-turned fashion designer—while also making jokes about the birthday girl.”

They added, “David really splashed the cash. He wanted it to be extra special for her after she always makes such an effort for everyone else.”

Victoria celebrated David’s birthday on May 2 with a glowing Instagram tribute. She wrote, “Happy birthday David. I love us getting really old together!😂😂 You aren’t far behind me!!!! You are our everything!!!! The best daddy and husband we all love u so so much xxxxx.”

In honor of their 25th wedding anniversary on July 4, David and Victoria appeared to dig back out the purple Antonio Berardi ensembles from their wedding day and posed in new photos wearing them.

In a picture shared to both of their Instagrams, Victoria and David held hands as they sat on gold thrones.

“Look what we found… 😅💜,” they wrote.

Victoria shared the original footage of her and David cutting their wedding cake for their anniversary last year, and they were dressed in the same looks.

On Saturday, July 27, they were seen in Italy. David was enjoying a day on the yacht before meeting his wife in Nerano where they had lunch at the restaurant Lo Scoglio. The couple were very affectionate over their meal, with the soccer player touching her head as they conversed. She joined him on the yacht wearing a black minidress.

August 2024

The couple were still enjoying Italy in early August. They were photographed sharing a kiss on their yacht in Positano on Saturday, August 3. Victoria was wearing a black baseball cap over her ponytail and a black sports bra with a matching skirt. David wore his green bathing suit and was wrapped in a white towel. She embraced him and they shared a smooch.

David also recently shared some snapshots from their time on the boat with their kids.
