There is a long thread there on Footys. There is a move afoot (pun intended) to make the Footy a AMYA class. We are talking about class rules and various other issues there. I want to make plans and building info freely avalible for this class. I belive there is great potential in the future for these small models.
The yacht will sail quite happily without radio if required, simply add 150 g. to either the ballast bulb or inside in place of the radio.

Balanced swing rig for footy sail yacht
The photos show a simple swing rig for a Footy where the mast is fixed and the yard rotates around it. The 3mm yard spars are simply joined with 2mm bent wire and held against the upward pressure of the sails by a small PTFE block bonded to the mast.
