In der kleinen feinen Werft am Lauterbacher Hafen entstehen handgemachte VILM Yachten , die es gut und gerne mit skandinavischen Edelbooten aufnehmen können. Ihren Namen verdanken die innovativen Allwetteryachten dem vor Lauterbach vorgelagerten Naturparadies der gleichnamigen Insel Vilm. Für ihr Werftdebüt im Jahre 1965 ließ sich die Bootsbau Rügen GmbH von der Ostsee und deren Bedingungen inspirieren. Kurz darauf setzte sich die erste VILM , ein Motorsegler mit schutzbietendem Steuerhaus, bei deren Weltpremiere in London durch.

Dank ihrer einmaligen Anpassungsgabe und der Kombination aus innovativen und traditionellen Elementen schwimmen die VILM Yachten auch heute erfolgreich im Marktsegment der Segelyachten mit schutzbietendem Steuerhaus mit. Das erfahrene Team der alten Bootsmanufaktur setzt auf ganzheitliche Qualität und Rundum-Service, wovon sich jeder selbst bei einer Werftführung überzeugen kann.

When boarding the boat you are immediately met with the feel of quality and sturdiness. The decks are easy to move around and nicely secured with a solid stainless rails around the aft deck and lifelines forward. Stepping down into the center cockpit pilothouse you're met with a beautifully finished cockpit station forward with deep comings between the aft cabin and the forward companionway. The quality of the carpentry throughout the boat along with the strength of build seen belowdecks needs to be seen in person to truly appreciate.

The Vilm 117 offers exceptional comfort and performance. Built in Lauterbach on the Baltic island of Rügen, the Vilm 117 is beautifully crafted and has a level of excellence usually found only on custom boats. The builder has promoted the boat as a 90/90 motorsailer meaning that the boat offers 90 percent of the performance of both a motorsailer and sailboat. Her designer, Georg Nissen, believes in keeping the virtues of a full blown racing design separate from that which is meant to safely "around the capes". In their performance tests, Cruising World had high praise for many of the features and details of the boat, including her excellent stability in a seaway, the quietness of her engine, performance under sail and the well thought out layout that beckons "blue water".

As stated in the brochure, " The Vilm 117 is a superb mid-sized blue water cruiser. She is fast, comfortable, and extremely seaworthy and is built to withstand the rough conditions of the North Sea. The Vilm 116 is approved for category A (open ocean) and is suitable for circumnavigation but offers shallow draft for coastwise exploration. All materials, fittings, and equipment meet or exceed CE as well as German Lloyd's specifications, the most stringent boat building standards in the world."

Timmerman Yachts

Timmerman Yachts is a Russian builder of quality luxury motor yachts. Based in Moscow, it is owned by a group of Dutch and Russian investors and operates out of Moscow Shipyard. Several noted naval architecture and yacht design firms are involved with Timmerman, including Vripack, Guido de Groot Design, Ginton Naval Architects, Jon Bannenberg Ltd., and Francis Design Ltd.

Founded in 2003, the company was named for 17th century Dutch boat builder Franz Timmerman who brought Dutch boat manufacturing techniques to Russia and co-founded the Russian navy. Timmerman Yachts has more than 1,000 employees working at the Moscow Shipyard.
