Keycard Two

Keycard Two is a collectible story item required to advance the plot of The Forest .

Although both advance the story , the gold Keycard Two should not be confused with the employee Keycard .

Gameplay [ ]

The gold colored Keycard Two opens security doors within the Sahara Laboratory . It does not open the Vault Door entryway to the lab. From the Obelisk room, Keycard Two allows access through the corridor marked "This Way to Second Artifact" leading to Cave Sahara . However, Keycard Two is not required to operate the elevator up to the Observatory . It can be found next to the Resurrection Obelisk only after defeating the End Boss . It is located on the inventory screen backpack next to the first Keycard . It appears much cleaner than the other keycards.

Additionally, the gold colored Keycard Two may be used to unlock the security door on the Yacht . Depending on choices made by the player near the conclusion of the story , Keycard Two may be used to access an artifact on the Yacht resembling a toy spaceship, return to the end game cave, place the artifact on the pedestal, and open the door leading to the Artifact Ball . The door to the Artifact Ball is unique from the other pressure activated doors in caves. This door requires a unique item rather than rocks to make the pressure plate work.

Surviving in the world of The Forest is by no means an easy feat. Players are tasked with keeping themselves alive after crash landing in an unknown and dangerous location, proving difficult when it comes to finding shelter, water, and food. What's more, there are a host of cannibals and mutants hiding deep inside the forest and caves here, biding their time to kidnap and kill the player.

One unique feature about The Forest is that as the in-game days progress, enemies will appear more frequently, attempting to attack you. The first in-game week is the safest period for players on the surface level , so ensure to use this time to your advantage and acquire as many supplies as possible. Once you have erected a small and humble camp and crafted some basic weapons and armor, set out to explore these areas as thoroughly as possible.

9 Collect Items At The Crash Site

Resources are key to survival.

One of the most resource-rich areas of the game is the starting location. Upon waking up from the plane crash, you will find that everyone's luggage has been spread out around the vicinity. These suitcases can be cracked open to collect alcohol, snacks, cloth, duct tape, Med Caps , and other important resources that you may be unable to craft on your own at the time. Collecting these items will allow you to learn new recipes , elevating your survival.

In the early stages of the game, snacks and soda are essential to prevent you from starving , as they work to set up more reliable ways to obtain food and water. Keep in mind that spawn point become highly dangerous, so you shouldn't spend a lot of time here unless you are prepared to fight.

8 Visit The Main Cannibal Village

Pillage & loot.

When exploring the surface level of the world, you will eventually come across various cannibal villages. These campsites are home to vicious cannibals and typically contain all kinds of different resources and items . The Main Cannibal Village is the largest construction, found in the southeast area, from the center of the map.

In this area, you will find suitcases full of essential items in The Forest , like cloth, snacks, duct tape, rope, fuel cans, dynamite, and flares that are hard to find anywhere else on the surface. This is by far the best location in the game to raid for resources, but you will need to keep an eye out for any enemies nearby.

7 Swim To The Abandoned Yacht

Well worth your time.

If players want to complete The Forest 's main storyline, it is essential to check out the yacht later on in the game, in the bottom center of the map . Exploring it in the early stages will also grant you an array of valuable items and resources. The most useful among these are several ropes, utilized in many crafting recipes, and the Cassette Player.

The Cassette Player is useful as it offers insights into background information on the mysterious events on the formidable island , and additionally helps regenerate your sanity levels. This is also a great area to make the best base possible , situated in the water away from the shoreline, keeping cannibals and other enemies at bay.

6 Explore The Hanging Cave

Early-game items & weapons.

This is the first cave that players will want to explore in The Forest . While this is accessible near the starting area of the game, it is recommended to advance your combat efficiency and equip yourself with weapons and armor before returning , to survive against the threats within. The Hanging Cave's main entrance is in the middle of the Main Cannibal Village, making it easily accessible.

If the player dies on the surface, they will be kidnapped and dragged to this cave by Cannibals. You will have to try to sneak out or fight your way through to escape, but make sure you pick up your items before attempting your breakout.

Upon entering, you will find a wealth of resources within, especially since there are passenger corpses and suitcases spread throughout the cave. If you do a thorough search and look hard enough, you will come across a hidden room that contains several items that add to the story narrative, as well as a compass, explosives, arrows, and even the best axe in the game, the Modern Axe.

5 Loot The Film Crew Campsite

Bad luck for them, good fortune for you.

One of the few non-cannibal campsites that you will find in The Forest is one that once belonged to the film crew for a TV show. Situated near Geese Lake in the mid-west region of the map , those that once camped here either fled or perished, with the latter most likely due to the number of corpses nearby.

A metal pot can be found here, which is used to boil contaminated water or make stews . This is also one of the best locations in the game to farm flares and modern arrows, so it is recommended to explore this area whenever possible.

4 Explore The Dead Cave

Dangerous, but worth it.

The Dead Cave is one of the most dangerous caves in the game, especially if you are still progressing in the early stages. One should not explore the entirety of the cave unless they are well-armed, but there is an area that is safe enough to venture through , containing few enemies, and grants access to one of The Forest 's best weapons for survival .

There are two aggressive Armsies, a type of creepy-mutant lurking around the Dead Cave. These enemies are strong and don't go down easily, so proceed with caution.

In the Northwest of the center of the Peninsula, the main entrance to this cave is southeast of the massive sinkhole. Upon entering, make an immediate left to avoid encountering enemies, until you find yourself in a room containing several corpses. Here, you will find plenty of great resources, meds, and the formidable Katana sword that will slice through enemies upon swinging.

Upon progressing further into the more dangerous parts of the cave, you will find a Chainsaw, the best tool to speed up cutting down trees and removing tree stumps. Without requiring stamina, it makes a great melee weapon against enemies.

3 Explore The Submerged Cave

Get the rebreather.

The final cave to explore early in the game is the elusive Submerged Cave. The majority of this cave is underwater, but players can acquire the Rebreather here, allowing you to breathe underwater for longer periods.

Entering the underwater entrance without the Rebreather will likely lead to death. Ensure to get hold of this item first, before exploring the rest of the cave and some of the other caves, as many of them have underwater portions to dive into.

To find the entrance to the Rebreather Cave, head to the southwest portion of the map . It is fairly easy to check it out within the first couple of in-game days, and luckily, there aren't too many enemies inside, so you needn't worry about coming well-armed.

2 Explore the Chasm Cave

Much needed weapons.

The Chasm Cave is located beyond the northernmost land bridge linking the peninsula to the mountains. It is recommended to visit this cave only after securing essential resources, as it presents the greatest challenge in The Forest . Its difficulty arises from its length, intricate layout, and the complex navigation required.

The cave is home to a daunting array of enemies, including six Creepy Mutants and approximately 23 Cannibals lurking in its depths.

The Outer Middle Show provides a comprehensive visual walkthrough of the Chasm Cave, and details how to find one of the best weapons in The Forest . The value of the items found within this cave, including the Modern Bow , match its difficulty, making it a tough but highly rewarding endeavor. Ensure you are fully equipped with top-notch weaponry and armor, and bring all essential survival items before entering.

1 Hunt For Survival Resources

Lastly, players should start hunting as soon as possible as it will provide them with vital resources that can save their lives and help craft equipment in The Forest . You can hunt turtles on various beaches for their shells, giving you a vessel for drinking water. Similarly, fishing and hunting other animals will provide access to meat, hide, and other resources that will help you survive crucially at the start of the game.

Did you noticed that this boat is displaced? It was on the west side of the big tree, and it is still there when I play my old save, but when you start a new game it is on the east side. I wonder how many things one can miss when playing on his old saves. Anyway, now the boat is just by the grave on the beach and what you can find on this grave is a picture of a boat. Sooo, the ghost on a boat is a deadman from the grave imo.
