The global authority in superyachting
Dutch shipyard Oceanco has welcomed its 2014 build Tranquility back for a refit at its Zwijndrecht facilities.
The 91.5-metre superyacht recently checked in for a maintenance period at French yard MB92, but is returning to her home yard for "several upgrades to ensure she stays at the top of her game", according to Oceanco. The extent of the work is not yet known.
Formerly known as Equanimity, the yacht has lived a colourful life in her nine years on the water. In 2018, she was seized by the Indonesian authorities when a link between the yacht's then-owner and the 1MDB scandal emerged. Ownership was later transferred to the US Department of Justice and she was put on the auction block.
The yacht was eventually acquired by Genting Malaysia Bhd with a winning $126m (£95.9m) bid in 2019. She was renamed Tranquility in a name fitting her serene, Asian-inspired interiors.
Since then, the superyacht famously hosted Kylie Jenner and friends for a much-publicised 22nd birthday tour along the French and Italian Rivieras.
Tranquility was the first yacht to be built to PYC (Passenger Yacht Code) regulations, meaning she can host up to 26 guests and 28 crewmembers. She is also ice-classed, making her well-suited to high-latitude voyages.
Key features of the 2,999GT vessel include a 20-square-metre aft deck swimming pool and an observation deck that offers a premium vantage point.
