Superyacht OxyZen is a AB Yachts 140 (42 metres) has a golden colour which dazzles like the motor yacht’s technology. Ever since its debut, the AB Yachts shipyard belonging to FIPA Group that also includes MAIORA, CBI NAVI and INTERMARE – has paved the way of technological innovation and high performance combined with equally cutting-edge outfitting solutions, in terms of both the materials used and the comfort provided. Marco Arnaboldi, the engineer of AB Yachts shipyard and also test driver of all models, says: “Superyacht OxyZen is the first AB 140’ yacht.

AB Yachts 140 Oxyzen at sea

The AB Yachts 140 motor yacht brings together all of the key features of the AB ethos, in the largest yacht we have built so far. But it will soon lose this top position as a 60-metre model is already being designed, following the same conceptual theme, of course”. Arnaboldi goes on to tell us, “Initially I wasn’t sure about the colour, but I now admit I was wrong. When I saw the boat in the water I immediately changed my mind. This summer I could practically track its course around Sardinia and other ports by the phone calls I received from people wanting to know more. It was a real success.

People were also impressed by the external styling, which was a joint effort by AB Yachts and Interin Srl, who also designed all of the motor yacht OxyZen’s interiors. The final result is definitely high-impact. The other three AB 140’ vessels under construction are also eye-catching, and unlike this one they have a fly deck. The interiors of the second of these three were designed by the Guido De Groot studio in the Netherlands, while the yard’s internal department of designers designed the others.

The main difference in the fly version is that there is an open control bridge; so the opening roof consists of just one element instead of the three found on OxyZen; consequently, the ward room partially opens up. The inside layout is basically the same, although various custom arrangements mean that Owner’s can choose whether to have three or four cabins”.

A View of the Yacht Sun Roof in the Saloon

The hull, deck and superstructure of the AB Yachts 140 superyacht are made in laminated sandwich pre-impregnated with vinyl ester epoxy-base resin, strengthened with uni-directional fibres from Kevlar, Carbon and Divinycell sandwich. All of the material is vacuum-consolidated. All of the main tanks for both diesel and water are structural, therefore part of the hull structure. In other words, they add strength rather than being a burden on the structures. Every aspect of this boat has been designed for speed allied to maximum safety and cruising comfort.

“Our aim was to create a 42-metre boat with the same features of the other, smaller AB models. Nothing has been left to chance”, Arnaboldi explains. “The hull is the result of a painstaking hydrodynamic project on the bottom, carried out at the research institute in St. Petersburg, Russia. This is the only centre with a 900-metre tank where 1:5 scale models can be tested. This allowed us to test the bottom’s seaworthiness even with the worst beam waves. The final result is a very stable hull. It doesn’t even need anti-roll stabilizers.

In the same tank we perfected various types of hydrojet motors, which are really AB Yachts’ signature propulsion unit. The results from the tank were confirmed as soon as OxyZen was tested at sea. With three 2400 hp MTU engines coupled with three MJP hydrojets the top speed is 46 knots, while cruising speed is 43 knots. We wanted to match these extraordinary results with the maximum in cruising comfort.

The hull of the AB Yachts 140 has been carefully insulated from the other internal structures, which are made from aeronautical materials and honeycomb structures. This means that the OxyZen can sail at 46 knots with just 72 db of noise in the cabins; this drops to below 50 db when the speed is around 30 knots. We are very pleased with this result, and more importantly, so is the Owner”.

Oxyzen's Saloon Interior Design

The OxyZen yachts’s styling stands out all the more due to her original colour. The decision to
eliminate the fly has certainly made her profile even more streamlined and
aggressive-looking. This is underlined by the sleek portholes lined up along the
topside, with the largest placed amidships to let light into the master stateroom.
Another remarkable aspect of this first AB 140’ is her imposing transom. It conceals
what can only be described as a garage, which easily holds two tenders of 6.5 and
4.20 metres, and one jetski for 3 people. The choice of having a single transom,
while undoubtedly visually impressive, prevents access to the aft bridge when the
hatch is closed. On the other hand, the bridge only needs to be accessed when the
boat is at rest. However, an open staircase will be used in future models. The aft
solarium is very comfortable, and has a dinette astern.

These areas offer greater privacy when moored in port. Two large, sheltered gangways
provide totally safe access between two open-air living rooms, even when travelling at
46 knots. The design of the deck house fits in perfectly with the harmonious yet sharp
styling of the hull. Even the roll-bar that holds the various antennas is well-disguised,
its three gradated sections fitting well into the overall design without being too
heavy-looking. This vessel’s remarkably harmonious appearance is certainly helped
by the absence of the fly; this solution means that the cockpit ceiling can be opened
almost entirely using the three large sliding elements in the roof. The excellent work of
AB Yachts in cooperation with Interin Srl is apparent here. But let’s not forget the crucial
contribution made by the AB yard’s internal studio, which in the last decade has come
up with some major innovations in the design of high-performance motoryachts.

Step into the salon and you’ll find that it’s all that you expected. Interin Srl designed
interiors are just right for a boat that uses futuristic solutions to amaze as well as to
accommodate guests in the greatest possible comfort. Modern design, cutting-edge
materials and carefully crafted structures are what make OxyZen a unique, exclusive
object.

The furniture of the AB Yachts 140 superyacht is made from ultra-light composite materials, and assembled using structural adhesives. The flooring of the lower deck is in composite material,
supported by elastic elements. The staterooms are sound-proofed with a double
bulkhead (filled with sound-absorbing material) both astern, between the main
staterooms and the engine room, and forward of the main staterooms towards the
crew’s quarters. Three external entrances lead into the salon: the semi-circular,
stainless-steel and layered glass main door retracts fully into the boat’s bulwarks.
Two more pantographic doors are positioned on the topside near the wheelhouse.
The ceiling is made from painted wooden staves, and may be partially opened by
an electro-hydraulic system. The plafond around the ceiling is veneered in the same
wood as the furniture and has inset lights. The floor is made with natural leather
tiles with polish steel listels.

Yacht Oxyzen - Master cabin

The salon’s living room and dining areas are separated from each other by the wheelhouse, which is slightly raised and in the centre. The salon has an airconditioning system that is independent from that of the lower deck.

The bridge  of the AB Yachts 140 yacht Oxyzen consists of a dashboard pressed in composite and finished with instrument panels in carbon with serigraphs. A special support unit on the bridge holds three separate seats, upholstered in leather.

On the starboard side a staircase leads down to the lower deck, with steps and risers in wood and wood-veneered walls. The steps have courtesy-lights built-in. On the left is a chart table.

The full-beam master stateroom is positioned aft of the lower deck and ahead of the engine room. The walls and doors are panelled in wood and the ceiling has fabric-upholstered staves with a wooden plafond matching the walls, inset spotlights, and no-neon lighting around the perimeter of the plafond. The double bed is in wood and is lit all around its base perimeter. It stands in the centre of the cabin and has an eye-catching headboard with vertical strips upholstered in fabric and lit with a no-neon system. On one side there is a fabric-upholstered coach and linen cabinets, on the other side is a writing desk. The cabin receives daylight through the two large elliptical portholes that stand out on the topside. Like all the cabins on this yacht, the master stateroom has its own independent airconditioning system.

oxyzen yacht

Oxyzen - Master ensuite

The master wardrobe lies aft of the cabin, with an entrance on the right-hand side. It runs from the starboard bulwark towards amidships. Twin washbasins made of Portoro Marble are set into a wooden cabinet, above which is a magnificent glass mirror unit. The shower box is generously sized with a removable grating, while the shower column comprises a mixer tap and shower head in stainless steel. The master stateroom also contains a gym area equipped with professional apparatus and finished with the same valuable materials used in the room. Thanks to the large panoramic windows, it is possible to keep fit while looking at the sea. The Guest’s twin cabin Ahead of the master stateroom there are two double cabins for guests.

These are decorated in the same style but are smaller and have twin beds. Each of these staterooms has its own bathroom. Moving towards the bow we find the fourth stateroom, the one set aside for VIP guests. This replicates the layout and furnishings of the master stateroom on a slightly smaller scale; it has a large double bed in the centre, a writing desk area, a fairly large wardrobe and large bathroom. The VIP cabin of the AB Yachts 140 is at the end of central part of the lower deck. A second staircase to the left of the wheelhouse leads to the kitchen and the crew’s area. The kitchen has lacquered walls and ceiling, and wooden flooring. It consists of a long cabinet along the bulwark with a laminate top, which holds the electric hob in ceramic glass, a stainless steel sink with mono-mixer tap, and a large work surface.

The under-top cabinet with lacquered doors and interior contains the built-in dishwasher, a ventilated electric oven, a spacious set of drawers and large compartments. Lighting during the day is provided by two stainless steel and glass portholes with curtains. The kitchen has its own air-conditioning system.

The three crew cabins can also be reached from the deck via a handy staircase from the side gangway, or through the kitchen door. All these cabins are panelled in the same wood as the main staterooms, with fabric-upholstered ceilings and inset spotlights, and wooden flooring. Two cabins have bunk beds while the third has one single bed.

Let’s go astern now on the AB Yachts 140 to visit the engine room, which is entered through a hatch on the deck or directly from the tender garage. This room holds the main engines and generator sets as well as the air-conditioning compressors, pumps, batteries, freshwater autoclave and all the accessories for the propulsion equipment.

The engine room is ventilated through two air-vents positioned on the roll-bar structure; the vents are equipped with two grilles for intercepting water, with automatic closures.Meanwhile hot air is extracted by two large-capacity extractors with automatic closure shutters.

At this point, all eyes are on the forthcoming 200-foot AB Yachts 200 model. It’s clear that AB Yachts has won the 140-foot challenge with flying colours. The yard’s goals are now increasingly ambitious, and rightly so.

NOTE TO U.S. CUSTOMS & BORDER PROTECTION

Due to the international and fluid nature of the yachting business and the fact there is no global central industry listing service to which all charter yachts subscribe it is impossible to ascertain a truly up-to-date view of the market. We are a news and information service and not always informed when yachts leave the charter market, or when they are recently sold and renamed it is not clear if they are still for charter. Whilst we use our best endeavors to maintain accurate information, the existence of a listing on this website should in no way supersede official documentation supplied by representatives of a yacht.

Khanty-Mansiysk: Why you simply must visit this northern land of mammoths

oxyzen yacht

“I have been to Yugra many times. I was sworn in as a Siberian in a cedar forest,” producer Andrey Suleikov writes in the preface to a collection of legends called Yugra. It’s My Land . “I tasted lingonberries in the cold and could not tell whether the berries were coated in sugar or ice. I also enjoyed outdoor hot springs while taking a traditional Siberian bath."

Fuel pumping stations

Fuel pumping stations

Sounds more like time travel than a present-day tourist trip, doesn’t it? But that is what Yugra is like: a fusion between prehistoric things like mammoths and modernity, which has brought oil, gas and new buildings. Even the region’s official name (which is quite long: the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra) combines the present with the past.

Tying a ribbon is a national tradition

Tying a ribbon is a national tradition

There is a beautiful legend about Yugra’s origins. In one very bright, warm and sunny city, twins of unprecedented beauty were born: a brother named Yug and a sister named Ra. At first, they grew up like ordinary small children, but with age they began to argue and fight, so much so that when they did flames flared up around them. The townspeople were afraid that they would burn everything down, so they exiled Yug and Ra to a remote northern land covered with ice and snow. The brother and sister illuminated this land with their light and made it warm so that people could come here to live. Yug and Ra stopped fighting and began living together in harmony. Since then, this northern land has been called Yugra.

When you look at the map, it may seem that Khanty-Mansiysk is located almost in the middle of Russia. However, the climate here is similar to regions of the Far North. In winter, the temperature here drops to below -40 degrees Celsius.

We asked local residents and people who know this region well to tell us more about it and to share some tips for tourists who come to visit.

Why should a foreigner visit Khanty-Mansiysk?

“If you want to feel the coldness and colors of Russian winter, then you should definitely stop by in our small cozy town,” says a local tattoo artist, Semyon Chepurnoy.

Yevgeny Zinovyev, a journalist and the former editor-in-chief of a local media outlet, says that Khanty-Mansiysk provides the opportunity to experience a real and not touristy part of Russia. “In winter, there are frosts, snowdrifts and wind. In summer, heat, midges and bears. At any time of the year, you can experience the everyday life and customs of the indigenous peoples: the Khanty and Mansi. And of course, in Khanty-Mansiysk you can get to know the backbone of modern Russia – its oil and gas sector."

“We have unique scenery here. Khanty-Mansiysk is located on seven hills and is surrounded by the taiga. There are a lot of fish in the rivers, and a lot of mushrooms, berries and pine nuts in the forests surrounding the city,” says local insurance company employee Sergey Yankovich.

The harsh climate of the region influences how local residents relate to visitors. “Residents of the city are very good-natured and welcoming and are always ready to offer help in any situation, even to a stranger, because in the north, there is an unspoken rule: If you see that a person is in distress, be sure to help them, because tomorrow, it may be you in their place. The harsh climate and surrounding scenery leave no room for error, especially in winter,” Sergey says.

Things to see/do/taste in Khanty-Mansiysk

Mammoths at the Archeopark

Mammoths at the Archeopark

According to Irina Pudova, a local resident and the author of a collection of legends called Yugra: It’s My land , the first thing to do in Khanty-Mansiysk is to see the local mammoths. Seven life-size bronze prehistoric animals "roam" the area near Samarovsky Hill on the grounds of the Archeopark complex. Here you will also find a prehistoric bison, a pack of wolves, a cave bear, two woolly rhinos and prehistoric people themselves.

“Then you could get something to eat,” Irina advises. “The thing to do is to go to any local restaurant of Siberian cuisine and ask for muksun. It is a valuable freshwater fish of the salmon family, which is highly prized by locals and tourists alike.”

Khanty-Mansiysk is a relatively new city and only received this status in 1950. Soo oil was discovered in the region, prompting a dramatic push in its development. Prior to that, there were just Siberian settlements built by Russia in the late 16th century. Irina is impressed that a modern city was built in such harsh conditions.

“Cultural objects, squares, houses - all this is unique. And everything is new, there is nothing very ancient here. Except for mammoths!” she says.

In addition to the Archeopark mentioned above, Yevgeny Zinovyev’s list of favorite places in the city includes the Museum of Geology, Oil and Gas, along with the Museum of Nature and Man and the centuries-old cedars in the Samarovsky Chugas natural park. He recommends checking out the views from the observation deck near the Monument to the Explorers of the Yugra Land and paying a visit to a local bathhouse.

Yevgeny also provided us a checklist of culinary delights that anyone visiting Khanty-Mansiysk should be sure to try:

  • Muksun (in any form but best of all frozen and sliced as Stroganina).
  • Wild berries (cranberry, cowberry, cloudberry).
  • Venison (in any form but best of all stewed and sprinkled with frozen berries and pine nuts).

Sergey Yankovich recommends visiting the open-air ethnographic museum Torum Maa, which means "Sacred Land" in Mansi. “There you can get acquainted with the history of the city and the district, as well as with the life of the indigenous peoples of the Khanty and Mansi, who belong to the Finno-Ugric group,” Sergey says.

In addition, he advises anyone who comes to Khanty-Mansiysk to visit the spot where the Ob and Irtysh rivers meet, pay a visit to Misne Hotel’s restaurant and taste traditional dishes there, as well as dishes prepared by local fishermen and hunters while in the taiga.

According to Semyon Chepurnoy, the Valley of Streams natural park is another must for any visitor. It is one of local residents’ favorite recreation areas, where you can stroll along a dedicated footpath offering stunning views of the city. Semyon also advises trying pancakes at the GoodFood chain of cafes.

What are the best souvenirs?

“We all love something mystical and supernatural. There is a strong culture of shamanism here, so I think it’s cool to take with you some local amulets charged by a shaman—a bear claw or a pendant made of beads and deerskin,” says Irina Pudova.

Sergey Yankovich advises that authentic souvenirs can be found at the Crafts Center on Roznina Street. “There you can also see and even try on the national costumes of the Khanty and Mansi and try to solve traditional puzzles that representatives of the indigenous peoples made for their children.”

According to Yevgeny Zinovyev, the best souvenirs are Khanty and Mansi amulets, clothes, jewelry, as well as traditional local treats such as muksun, wild berries, pine nuts and venison.

For his part, Semyon Chepurnoy recommends bringing away memories and photographs as well as a little bit of Siberian Frost ❄.

How did divers manage to blow up the Nord Stream pipeline? We went down to the spot to find out

German network ard chartered yacht and divers to see how sabotage occurred.

It was an event that rocked Europe and shook world affairs.

Early in the morning on Sept. 26, 2022, a series of powerful undersea explosions damaged pipelines under the Baltic Sea near Denmark that carried Russian natural gas to Germany.

Fingers were immediately pointed at Ukraine, which had been at war with Russia since the latter invaded in February of that year. Ukraine denied involvement, and in the absence of reliable information, conspiracy theories proliferated about who attacked the Nord Stream pipeline.

Did a Russian submarine intentionally destroy it in order to cut off the gas supply to Germany, a country allied with Ukraine? Was it the CIA, as famed U.S. investigative journalist Seymour Hersh wrote?

The German government has been tightlipped about the affair for two years, but this week, German media outlets ARD, Sueddeutsche Zeitung and Die Zeit jointly reported that federal prosecutors obtained an arrest warrant against a Ukrainian man. A Polish government spokesperson confirmed it.

The German reports identified the man as Volodymyr Z., a diving instructor who last resided in Poland. In a brief telephone conversation on Tuesday with reporters from ARD, Sueddeutsche Zeitung and Die Zeit, Volodymyr Z. expressed surprise at the accusations and denied involvement.

A large body of water is shown, with clouds shown above a large surface bubbling.

A report this week by the Wall Street Journal also pointed to Ukraine, suggesting the operation was carried out by Ukrainian soldiers and civilians with diving expertise and under the direction of Ukraine's then-commander-in-chief, Valerii Zaluzhnyi.

Journalists at ARD, Germany's public broadcaster, have been hot on the trail since the shocking explosions took place. I was one of the reporters who was part of the team that spent months piecing together what may have occurred.

To understand what happened to the Nord Stream pipeline that day, ARD chartered the very yacht the perpetrators allegedly used and sent divers into the roiling waters of the Baltic Sea to see how the pipeline might have been attacked.

Group chartered sailing yacht

Several outlets have reported that in early September 2022, a sailing yacht called Andromeda set sail from the port of Hohe Düne in Rostock, Germany. According to the ARD investigation, the commando that was to destroy the pipelines was on board the Andromeda. The group is said to have consisted of six people — five men and one woman. Among them, it is suspected, was Volodymyr Z.

After stops in Rügen, Bornholm and Christiansø in Denmark, Sandhamn in Sweden and Kołobrzeg in Poland, the boat returned to Rostock.

A yacht docked.

At some point during the trip, investigators believe the crew dove from the yacht down to the seabed and, in the darkness of the Baltic Sea, attached the explosive devices to the pipeline at a depth of around 80 metres.

What happened later is well-known. At 2:03 a.m. local time on Sept. 26, 2022, the first explosion damaged Nord Stream 2. Approximately 16 hours later, three other explosions damaged Nord Stream 1. Investigators later found residue of the explosive HMX, also known as octogen, on board the Andromeda.

  • Germany issued arrest warrant for Ukrainian diver in Nord Stream pipeline attack
  • Denmark, like Sweden before them, ends probe into Nord Stream pipeline 'sabotage'

During our investigation, we wondered just how hard it would have been to carry out such a mission.

The Andromeda is a charter yacht. Anyone can rent it — so we rented it, too, and took three divers with us.

As with many charter yachts, the Andromeda was not in the best condition — our skipper called it "one of the worst boats I've ever sailed with."

He said several electrical components were broken and that the yacht didn't move well in the waves. Then there was the swim platform, which the divers would need to get on and off the boat. If the swell is high, the platform moves up and down, punching into the sea. A diver trying to get back on the boat could be slammed on the head by the platform, causing serious injury. For us, this risk was too high.

A woman in sunglasses sits on a boat.

So we returned the Andromeda and chartered a professional diving vessel with a crew that usually recovers Second World War explosives from the bed of the Baltic Sea.

We then drove to the exact spot where the first explosion happened — 120 kilometres off the German coast, with the Danish island Bornholm in sight.

Trained divers required

We arrived at 6 a.m. to witness a symbolic moment in the Baltic Sea.

A Russian military ship appeared. Through our radio, we heard, "Russian warship delta echo, U.S. warship Yankee." The U.S. Navy was trying to make contact with the Russian Navy right before our eyes. How could a sabotage operation have gone on undetected in this environment?

The burst pipeline lay almost 80 metres beneath us, a depth not every diver could handle.

You need to be trained as a tech diver. At that depth, you have to breathe a special mixture of oxygen, helium and nitrogen, and that means carrying about 220 pounds of equipment.

A diver underwater.

It is also pitch black at the bottom of the sea. The multiple scuba tanks gave the divers about 40 minutes to find the pipeline, which means they needed to know precisely where to look. A sonar device was required to locate the pipeline beforehand. The Andromeda did not have this kind of device on board, but our new vessel did.

Our tech divers found the burst pipeline on their second try and filmed it.

The difficult part for the divers was returning to the surface. The pressure is so intense that if the ascent is not done correctly, divers could experience serious symptoms like paralysis or damage to their lungs. Doing proper decompression from such a depth — which requires divers to switch to a different gas mix — takes about two hours.

Conducting a complex mission like that from the Andromeda would have been difficult and dangerous. According to the German investigation, it's plausible Volodymyr Z. was trained for dives like that.

A broken gas pipe deep underwater.

Everyone who has examined the Andromeda agrees it's not the vessel anyone would choose to secure a mission.

As our tech diver Derk Remmers put it: "I would use the Andromeda for a vacation, but not a sabotage mission."

Yet this could be precisely why the saboteurs used it. To stay undetected and unaccountable — which they managed to do until the charges were made public this week.

The Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Region (Yugra) is located in the centre of the West Siberian Plain. It borders on the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Region in the north, the Komi Republic in the northeast, Sverdlov Region in the southwest, Tobolsky Region in the south, and Tomsk Region and Krasnoyarsk Territory in the southeast and east. The region spans 1,400 km east to west from the eastern slopes of Northern Ural almost to the banks of the Yenisey; and north to south - 900 km from the Sibirskiye Uvaly to the Konda taiga. The length of the borders is 4733 km.

The relief is a combination of plains, foothills, and mountains. The highest elevations are Narodnaya Mountain in the Pre-Polar Urals (1894 m) and Pedy Mountain in the Northern Urals (1010 m). The Ob, with a length of 3,650 kilometers and Irtysh, whose length is 3,580 kilometers, their tributaries, and many smaller rivers form the area`s river system. Altogether, there are nearly 30 000 rivers in the area. There are nearly 290 000 lakes with an area of more than 1 hectare. Larger lakes (area greater than 100 km ) include Kondinsky Sor, Leushinsky Tyman, Vandemtor, and Tromemtor.

The distance from Moscow is 2,500 km, from Irkutsk is 3,500 km. and from the largest city in the district - Surgut is 300 km.

  Khanty-Mansiysk (founded in 1582, population 101,000 as of 2019)

535,000 km , rank 9 in the country.

1,700,000 as of 2019, national composition: Russian 68%, Tatar 7,6%, Ukrainian 6%, Bashkir 2,5% the indigenous population (Khanty, Mansi, and Nenets) is 2,2%.

The climate is temperate continental, characterized by a rapid change in weather conditions especially in transitional periods - from autumn to winter and from spring to summer. Winters are long, snowy and cold. The average January temperature in the district ranges from -18 to -24C. Extreme cold conditions may last for several weeks with the average air temperature below minus 30C. Summer is short and warm. The warmest month of July is characterized by average temperatures from + 15C (in the northwest) to + 18.4C (in the southeast). The absolute maximum reaches 36C.

Climate formation is significantly influenced by the protection of the territory from the west by the Ural Range and the openness of the territory from the north, which facilitates the penetration of cold Arctic masses, as well as the flat character of the area with a large number of rivers, lakes and swamps.

Ugra is the historical homeland of the Ob-Ugric peoples first of all: Khanty, Mansi, Nenets and Selkups. They were engaged in hunting, fishing, and cattle breeding. After the Turkic peoples pressed them from south to north, these peoples transferred their skills to more severe conditions. It was in a new place that the Ugrians began to domesticate the deer.

In the XII-XIII centuries. in the Irtysh and Priobye formed territorial clan associations of the Khanty and Mansi, called the principalities. From the second half of the XIII century a new factor in the development of the territory was its entry into the Golden Horde. At the end of the XIV century the collapse of the Golden Horde led to the separation of the Tyumen Khanate. In 1495, the Siberian Khanate was formed, the capital of which was the city of Kashlyk. It was then that the basic principles of the political-administrative and socio-economic organization of the territory developed. At this time, it was called Ugra.

Almost 2/3 of the reserve is covered with forests, the rest are swamps. The swamps of the reserve are part of the largest swamp massif in the world - Vasyugana. There are also quite common transitional between swamps and forest communities. The most common of these is ryam - a swampy pine forest. The most prominent representatives of plant families are cereal, Asteraceae, and sedge. Quite often there are orchid and buttercups. In general, 332 species of vascular plants, 195 species of lichens, 114 species of moss and more than 500 species of mushrooms are preserved.

The fauna of the reserve is also quite rich and diverse, birds are especially distinguished - out of 262 species of vertebrates, 216 species are represented by birds. Of these, only 30 species fly here by chance, the rest are regular inhabitants of this zone. However, you can not see all this bird diversity all year round - most of them fly away for the winter to warmer regions.

Mammals are represented by 40 species, more than half of which are rodents and shrews. The least widespread family of the reserve is feline, represented by only one species - trot. In addition to lynxes, other predators such as wolverine, sable, ermine, and badger live in the reserve. Also habitual inhabitants are the wolf and the fox, the population of which varies depending on the amount of game. Among ungulates you can meet moose and reindeer.

Fiio’s new ft1 headphones with real american black walnut ear cups.

The new TFiiO FT1 closed-back headphones have ear cups made from American Black Walnut.

Who doesn’t like a nice bit of real wood? These new and surprisingly affordable closed-back headphones from FiiO feature massive 60mm dynamic drivers and a choice of 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced connectors. With a silver-plated, oxygen-free cable and a frequency response of 10Hz to 40kHz, the new FiiO FT1 sound like a bit of a steal.

With their closed-back design, 60mm dynamic drivers and real wooden earcups, the FT1 have been designed to deliver high-frequency extension and transient response that has a clean sound as well as a controlled and dynamic bass.

The FiiO FT1 headphones have ear cups made from FAS-grade American Black Walnut. The wood has a smooth grain which is unique to each pair. The dense and solid wood helps to reduce cavity resonance and minimize standing waves.

The FT1 have new second-generation 60mm dynamic drivers that have been designed specifically for closed-back headphones. The large drivers can convert energy more efficiently which results in lower low-frequency resonance points and a deeper and more dynamic bass response.

The FiiO FT1 come with two cables. One has a 3.5mm single-ended jack plug wheel the other has a ... [+] balanced 4.4mm Pentaconn connector.

Russian Troops Captured One Of Ukraine’s Dutch Armored Vehicles, Rode It Back Into Battle—And Promptly Got Killed

Apple iphone 16 pro: new design echoed in latest leak, the sound of failure at sonos.

The diaphragm of the FT1 drivers is made from selected paper wood fibers sourced from 90-year-old spruce wood from Northern Europe. Often used to make musical instruments, spruce is chosen for its clarity and natural tone. The spruce undergoes a series of processes to create specific pulp.

To meet the acoustic toughness requirements needed for drivers, a precise proportion of carbon fiber material is added to the pulp. The diaphragm then undergoes another round of baking and molding, resulting in a final thickness of around 0.1mm.

FiiO has used a light PU material with high internal resistance to make the suspension gasket which boosts the low-frequency elasticity and the density of the sound. The result is a pair of headphones that FiiO claims has a warm, detailed and musical sound.

FiiO's engineers have also included a new generation of in-house acoustic technology. The W-shaped Suspension Gasket of the 25mm diameter voice coil is larger than on similar headphones and has been specifically optimized and tuned for the FT1.

The FT1 closed-back headphones from FiiO have large 60mm dynamic drivers.

Compared to similarly-sized diaphragms, FiiO claims its W-shaped version has a 25.8% increase in effective vibrating area, enabling it to store more energy reserves. This design reduces vibration loss between different materials and lowers distortion caused by driver breakup. The result, says FiiO, is a clean and more refined sound.

For the FT1’s voice coil, FiiO used an ultra-fine copper-clad aluminum wire imported from Japan. A longer voice coil wire can directly enhance the driver's efficiency and capacity, improving the transient response and delivering a purer sound. Each wire core in the coil has a diameter of approximately 0.035mm, which is as thin as a human hair.

A U-shaped sound-damping tube was specifically developed for the FT1 to enhance passive noise attenuation while enabling sound energy to pass through at a specific length and angle. FiiO says this increases air viscosity and reduces cavity resonance frequency, enhancing the bass extension.

Another development is the conical baffle plate used on the FT1’s drivers. The whole driver is positioned parallel to the listener’s ears, breaking up sound convergence and avoiding standing waves. This results in minimal high-frequency attenuation, enhancing the overall sound quality.

The FiiO FT1 are supplied with a hard zippered travel case.

The FT1 uses the same ergonomic headband design as FiiO’s FT3 and FT5 open-back headphones. The adaptive headband allows for free rotation at multiple angles which means a more comfortable and snug fit with very low sound leakage. Alongside a dozen levels of fit adjustment, the horizontal rotation angle of the FT1 is 35 degrees, pitch rotation is 45 degrees, while the headband has a sliding travel of 38mm.

To make the FT1 comfortable to wear for long periods, the headphones have breathable fabric earpads. The high-density breathable mesh has been designed to dissipate any heat buildup between the ear cushions and the wearer’s ears. The side of the ear cushions is made of protein leather.

Finally, to ensure the FT1 can work with a wide range of sources — including PC/Mac, Digital Audio Players, etc. — FiiO includes two interchangeable cables. One cable has a 3.5mm single-ended jack plug, while the other has a 4.4mm balanced termination. Both cables are made with oxygen-free, copper-plated silver wire consisting of 392 strands.

Pricing & Availability: The new FiiO FT1 closed-back headphones are available now and priced at $159 / £139 / €159.
