The Buffalo Yacht Club was founded in 1861 and had 5 previous headquarters before the present location was identified at the foot of Porter Avenue in Buffalo.

The Buffalo Canoe Club was founded in 1882 by William Lansing and other canoe enthusiasts.

Reputed to be the third oldest yacht club in the United States, the Buffalo Yacht Club has a storied history, including hosting the Brig Niagara in 1913. But the BYC’s clubhouses have had a stormy history.

The recently re-designed Captain's Quarters (CQ) is the main dining room used for member dining. It features a 30 foot long bar with accompanying bar stools, two Flat Screen TVs to enjoy the sports, seating for around 60 people, and not to mention a beautiful view of the basin and the Niagara River. In the summer months, there is both an upper and lower outdoor patio where members can enjoy the beautiful weather. Friday and Saturday nights also attract many talents for your listening pleasures.

Full windows along 3 walls over look the scenic Niagara River. In combination with our Fireplace area, our Main dining room can hold up to 225 people or can be partitioned into 3 sections. When partitioned, the North facing Light House room and the South facing Fireside room can each hold up to 45 people, and the Main Dining room can hold 75.

The Lodge is a members hideaway from the rest of the property. A large deck with tables and chairs allows you to kick back, enjoy a beverage, and the beautiful view of the Niagara River. The Lodge also has a kitchen, grills, refrigerator, and plenty of space for setting up food indoors away from the elements.

The Pavilion is available for rent at any time. From small get-together to large parties, the club can fully accommodate any and all of your needs...all you have to do is bring your guests! The Pavilion can be rented through the manager. There are tables, chairs, outdoor grills and refrigeration out there to host events.

Our Amazing Launch Club is a power boating club located right on the Niagara River. We have an 86 slip boat basin as well as a full dining and events club with a full waterfront view. We have many outdoor spaces including a pavilion, playground, pool and tennis court. We are also a large lighthouse on property, perfect for any backdrop.

Sandy Beach Yacht Club

Sandy Beach Yacht Club was founded in 1939 by eight intrepid sailors who decided that a location only five miles from the brink of Niagara Falls would be the perfect location for a boating club.

 Today, after more than eighty years of growth, Sandy Beach’s 100 plus members are the proud owners of a beautiful clubhouse and forty-eight boat slips and 14 jetski docks on Grand Island.  Founded on the ideal of being a “do-it-yourself” organization, we are proud that our members with little or no outside help have built our clubhouse and maintain most of our facilities.  

We are an unpretentious, family-oriented club, devoted to better boating and sailing as well as enjoying life and the camaraderie of our fellow members.

Welcome to Niagara Sailing Club

Founded in 1934, the Niagara Sailing Club educates and promotes the sport of sailing.

Sadly, on Saturday, March 20th 2021, fire devastated our clubhouse located on East River Rd. and is deemed a total loss. The clubhouse was not just a building for our members but held memories of our founding families and the work they had done. For generations, the NSC's clubhouse and property has hosted thousands of social gatherings, community events & meetings, fundraising dinners, and junior sailing camps.  NSC's clubhouse was the heart of our club and from the outpouring we are experiencing, remains a big part of so many lives. With the overwhelming support and generosity of our NSC members and their friends, our other Inner Clubs, the boating and WNY community, we have successfully rebuilt and now have a beautiful new clubhouse that exceeded our expectations! We will be dedicated to continuing our junior sailing classes, club events, and racing programs moving forward with this amazing new venue .

Thank you for all of you support and generosity! We are grateful  beyond words!
