Luxury yacht SEAFLOWER is a 36m (118'1") Mulder ThirtySix flybridge yacht from the Mulder Shipyard in the Netherlands. Built in 2023, she is a collaboration between the shipyard, exterior designers Claydon Reeves and engineers from Van Oossanen Navel Architects. This model offers 296 GT of interior volume and accommodation for up to 10 guests.

EXTERIOR The Award-Winning Mulder ThirtySix features a bespoke modern exterior with a sleek aluminium construction and a continuous window line which culminates in a contemporary plumb bow. The design features the Van Oossanen patented Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) to ensure comfortable sailing and fuel economy at all speeds.
The slender hull measures a perfect eight metres at its widest point and with a long waterline ensure outstanding seakeeping capacities in rough seas, enhancing comfort for owner and guests alike.

The spacious main deck aft area provides plenty of shaded al fresco seating and a beautiful dining setting. The sun deck above the aft deck and main saloon includes generous seating, lots of sun pads, a jacuzzi pool with room for eight and a sociable dining setting. For those who wish to be closer to the water, the 36-metre design incorporates a substantial beach club with further seating, a day head and a shower.
INTERIOR An impressive saloon, dining room and bar area is located on the main deck, with floor to ceiling windows providing panoramic views all around whilst also flooding the interior with lots of natural light. The space is extended to the outside thanks to a folding side balcony, creating a great indoor/outdoor flow.

Five spacious cabins on board accommodates up to ten guests with additional pullman beds in the forward guest cabins for occasional guests. The full beam master suite is the height of luxury further enhanced by dedicated access to a private and tranquil bow lounge.

Judges also applauded SEAFLOWER’s ‘tasteful custom interiors’ by British Vickers Studio, along with exterior design by Claydon Reeves and the highly efficient Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) technology by Van Oossanen Naval Architects. Exterior guest spaces include a split-level sun deck with a bar and buffet serving a versatile space aft and a lounge and dining area for 10 guests beneath the hardtop. There is a second open-air dining option on the main deck aft, and steps lead down to the beach club with dayhead and fold-down transom swim platform. Sidedecks lead to steps up to a foredeck sun lounge with huge sunpad and an intimate lounge in the bow. Inside on the main deck, a stylishly contemporary light-oak interior is illuminated with natural light through full-height windows. There is a relaxing lounge area aft and a formal dining space forward. To starboard, sliding glass doors open onto a fold-down balcony to open up the space. SEAFLOWER welcomes 10 guests in five cabins. The full-beam owner’s suite, forward on the main deck, gets natural light through a huge skylight above the berth. There is sofa seating to port, en suite with shower room and a combined office and dressing room. On the lower deck, highly versatile accommodation includes two double cabins and two convertible cabins, all en suite.  36m Mulder Shipyard award-winning motor yacht Seaflower new to marketHaving just picked up a Neptune at the World Superyacht Awards , the 36-metre Mulder Shipyard motor yacht Seaflower is newly listed for sale with Jamie Small of Burgess . Deceptively voluminous for her length, the Mulder ThirtySix model's "visionary exterior by Claydon Reeves " is an evolution of 34-metre Solis , also designed by Claydon Reeves. Seaflower 's interior is by Vickers Studio . Seaflower was delivered by family-run Mulder Shipyard in The Netherlands in 2023 as the first ThirtySix built to IMO Tier III emission standards. Her Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) technology is by Van Oossanen Naval Architects . With hull and superstructure crafted "with precision" in aluminium and "customised for a highly experienced multiple-yacht owner", the broker pointed out that she is an "excellent opportunity to own a newly built yacht". Accommodation is for 10 guests, comprising an owner's cabin, two double cabins and two convertible twin cabins. The owner's cabin uses the full beam of the yacht, forward at main deck level, its large skylight above the double bed inviting star gazing by night and giving plenty of natural light by day. There are quarters for a crew of five. The saloon, well-connected with the aft deck, has an inviting lounge area aft, leading forward to a bar amidships and a spacious dining space forward. Here, the full-height glass doors open to a fold-out balcony to starboard, perfect for stretching your legs after dinner. The ‘Titanic”s Iconic Bow Deck Has Partially Fallen Off, an Expedition Finds“We receive a lot of requests from owners who have yachts between 160 and 270 feet who want to downsize without compromising on quality or comfort,” Nick Mulder , Mulder’s managing director, told Robb Report during a tour of the yacht at the Monaco Yacht Show. “The ThirtySix [series] is popular as it’s large yet easily manageable.”  The exterior was designed by British studio Claydon Reeves with an interior by John Vickers and naval architecture by Van Oossanen . Seaflower is the sixth unit in the ThirtySix series, but the first hull to be built to IMO Tier-III requirements. “We’re not the biggest shipyard, but we produce one yacht every eight months, and it has our full attention,” says Mulder. “Clients can personalize the materials and layout and still only have to wait a year before taking delivery.” One of the largest custom requests made by Seaflower ’s owners was the inclusion of a light-oak interior. When they stepped into the build last September, much of the interior was already constructed in walnut. “That was quite a challenge, but it didn’t feel right to compromise on their wishes, so we redid everything across the main and lower decks,” says Mulder. Four more cabins—two VIPs and two twins that convert to doubles—are located on the lower deck, each with oversized windows and the option to add a Pullman berth, allowing Seaflower to sleep 10 guests. The main salon leads into a formal dining area set against a backdrop of bamboo backlit artwork, inspired by works the owners viewed aboard the Lurssen superyacht , formerly known as Ahpo . (That 377-foot vessel was renamed Lady Jorgia in what is considered the largest superyacht brokerage sale in yachting history.) Sliding doors open onto a fold-down balcony allowing alfresco dining to drift outside. The galley features custom-made fridges with adjustable temperatures and a restaurant-caliber steam oven. The wheelhouse, which accommodated 20 people during sea trials in July, includes plenty of seating for guests. It’s enhanced by a second exterior steering position, portside for maneuvering into slips or around other vessels. The owners left out the sundeck Jacuzzi. “The flybridge is a large open-plan space where they wanted to simply relax, so we dressed it with outdoor furniture from Neil Jones and prioritized comfort,” says designer Vickers. The yacht’s layout has an interior volume comparable to a 148-footer, according to the shipyard, with a crew of six. It’s twinned with a shallow draft for cruising in shallow waters. The owners have carried the name Seaflower across many of their previous yachts, yet the Mulder ThirtySix may be their most comfortable sub-300 GT cruiser yet. Yachts in your shortlist Mulder Yachts Established by Dirk Mulder in 1938, Mulder Shipyard turned into a well-known company with an interesting history of shipbuilding. Traditional family business has won an excellent reputation thanks to the classical models of cruisers «Super Favorite Cruisers», line «Favorite Superieur», a wide range of semi-custom motor yachts and individual projects «Mulder Custom Build». Dirk Mulder Sr. founded his business in 1938 in the place where now the shipyard is located, when he was only 27. While managing hardware shop, a carpentry workshop, production of wooden canoes and rowing boats, Dirk studied yacht building in the evenings. Mulder Shipyard originally produced mostly open wooden sailboats, such as racing «Pampus». After some time Mulder has created a brand new sailing yacht of his own design, a 9- meter «Dimu», made of solid mahogany with oak accents. In our time, a few more copies of this boat have survived that can be called "classics of bygone years." In the late 1940s, the shipyard built the first steel sailing yacht, which marked some changes towards the production of steel vessels. First motor yacht Mulder in 1953 was a 7.5 - meter Model with steel welded sheets on the hull. Famous predecessor of «Super Favorite Cruiser» was playfully named «Baby Favorite». Shipyard fully focused its production on motor yachts, and the brand «Super Favorite Cruiser» became known throughout the Netherlands . Luxurious, elegant Mulder yachts become recognizable at one point thanks to the distinctive design of the rounded stern, massive mahogany superstructure, extraordinary windows and an emblem «DM». New yachts 8.30, 9.20 and 10.20 meters were launched almost every month. Today «Super Favorite Cruisers» are recognized as classics, and their value increased many times from the initial value. In 1984, the management of the shipyard was passed over to his son, 22 -year-old Robert Dirk Mulder who returned the production of yachts with classic stern design, while paying special attention to the development of models and methods of construction. Wooden superstructure was replaced steel and aluminum with a symbolic mahogany interior. The line «Favorite Superior» shipyard was presented by yachts of 13.50, 15.50 and 17.50 meters, while for the ultramodern project «Futura» company signed a contract with designers «A1 Group Design». The shipyard was expanding and developing, new docks were opened, new models appeared, among them a flybridge yacht «Mulder 70 Flybridge» , 20.60 meters with strong steel hull and aluminum superstructure and «Mulder 74 Flybridge», already built for the experienced client of shipyard. In the 2000s, there were 3 lines of motor yachts - «Mulder Convertible», «Mulder Wheelhouse» and «Mulder Flybridge». The company opened a division in interior design and carpentry work.  BY BERNADETTE UY Inclusive development has always been the outcry of the Filipino people but these calls usually fall onto the deaf ears of the government. Uy’s photo essay features Eduardo, a fisherman in Manila Bay, whose livelihood is just one of those that are in danger as the development plan in the bay is being pushed for implementation.Early in the morning, the coastal community of Navotas is abuzz with small fishing boats unloading their catch. But Eduardo Dabandan, 49, lugs behind him several slabs of polystyrene foam held together by wooden sticks. For the past 10 years, this contraption has served as his main source of livelihood. Eduardo grew up in Daram, Samar Province foraging for seashells. When he became a teenager, he went with older fisherfolk to the sea. He moved with his family to Navotas in 1997 and stayed there until 2010, when they were relocated to San Jose Del Monte in Bulacan after a fire razed their house. Like a fish taken out of water, Eduardo found few opportunities for him in Bulacan. He offered his services as a sweeper at the relocation office. At first, the family was able to make ends meet with his P200 weekly salary. After a month, he realized it was not enough and opted to move back to Navotas to resume fishing. Whatever money he saved, he sent to his family in Bulacan to pay for their house and other needs. His wife Maricris Dela Cruz, 45, and one of his sons later followed him to Navotas to help him earn money, while four other children stayed in Bulacan. “Ayokong mawala yung bahay namin sa Bulacan, sayang naman. Para sa mga anak ko iyon, kaya heto tiis muna dito, nakakauwi na lang kami kapag may sobrang perang pamasahe (I don’t want to lose our home in Bulacan. It’s for my children, that’s why we persevere. We go home when there’s extra money for the fare),” Eduardo said. He’s worried about the children, knowing that it’s different without parents around them. When he got back to fishing in Navotas, Eduardo found a sidewalk where he could hang a hammock to rest on. Later, he and Maricris built a makeshift structure that became their temporary home. He’s worried they would be asked to move again to Bulacan with the implementation of the Manila Bay Sustainable Development Master Plan (MBSDMP), which involves reclamation. Their shack is just meters away from a backhoe being used for a reclamation project on the coast. Eduardo is among the many fisherfolk relying on Manila Bay for their day-to-day subsistence, struggling amid the blooming commercial developments around them. They are almost invisible to the rest of Metro Manila, whose collective memory of Manila Bay usually includes the scenic sunset, people strolling or jogging on the bay walk, and sailing boats at the yacht club. This is just a portion of the key harbor that spans eight provinces. Manila Bay is a strategic location for trade, livelihood, and other non-formal economic activities. In 2017, the National Economic and Development Authority released the Manila Bay master plan and identified projects, programs and activities for the rehabilitation and development of the bay. It has four “pillars”: Intercoastal Zone Management Framework, Priority Measures, Enabling Environments, and Optimizing Stakeholder Engagement. According to Rex Victor Cruz, leader of the team of experts in the Manila Bay Task Force, the master plan will fail without any one of the four pillars. Cruz however clarified that the MBSDMP was not a “complete” plan. It provides guidance to local government units, national government agencies, and other stakeholders in charge of its implementation. Devralin Lagos, a community worker who attended two meetings to craft strategies for the master plan in 2018, said fisherfolk needed to be consulted as their livelihoods would be affected by reclamation and other projects at Manila Bay. “Based on my experience in Cavite and Bulacan, people are unaware of the master plan,” Lagos said. “[They should be consulted] if the project really aspires to reflect the concerns of stakeholders, not only of the development designers and government.” Cruz said the master plan was not set in stone and could still be revised in three to five years. The Manila Bay Task Force is working on three scoping studies focused on liquid and solid waste management and preventing flooding. Eduardo is hopeful after buying a new outrigger that finally replaced his makeshift boat. The money came from life savings. For him and other fisherfolk in Navotas, every day is a challenge to protect and sustain their livelihoods. Rather than sink them, the master plan, Eduardo said, should help keep them afloat.  Navotas City’s coastal villages are part of the Manila Bay Sustainable Development Master Plan. Some 4,000 households depend on fishing.  Eduardo Dabandan, 49, has lived in Navotas since 1997, but had to relocate to Bulacan after a fire that razed their house in 2010. The lack of livelihood for fisherfolk in Bulacan forced him to return to Navotas. For more than a decade, Eduardo has used a makeshift boat made of polystyrene foam and sticks for fishing. It does not provide any kind of protection, but Eduardo knows how to swim and observe the environment and weather before going to the sea.  Eduardo carries his makeshift boat as he goes out fishing with his new outrigger. Eduardo and his son Edwin will have to travel more than 30 minutes to reach their fishing spot, where they will stay overnight hoping to catch enough fish to eat and to sell. Pollution and competition with bigger vessels have made it harder to catch fish in recent years.  After 10 years of saving money, Eduardo has bought a new boat, named after his youngest son “Marby.” The maiden voyage of “Marby” the boat brings a subtle smile to Eddie’s eyes. Eddie is proud to have made both ends meet and save enough to buy a new outrigger.  Eduardo earns between P300 to P500 daily from his catch, but on a bad day, this could go down to zero. His wife Maricris Dela Cruz makes sure there’s enough money to buy food, while saving whatever they can to send to their children in Bulacan. If anything, they do not have to worry about their daily meals, because they can get what they need from the sea.  Eduardo and his family eat lunch inside their makeshift tent. In between cooking and preparing for his fishing trip later that day, what worries him is how his four children in Bulacan are coping without their parents. He smiles as he recalls how happy they were during meal time.  A backhoe used for reclamation sits idle on top of dirt. In this area alone, there are 10 families taking shelter in makeshift tents, all of them fisherfolk who depend on the sea for daily subsistence. Some families staying here are also from the relocation site in Bulacan like Eduardo’s. What they earned at the relocation site was not enough to make ends meet.  People forage for shellfish as water gets shallow during low tide along the coast of Barangay Tangos South in Navotas City. In the background, a backhoe is parked on a reclamation site. People there have been told they would need to relocate soon to give way to the development of the coast.  Fisherfolk gather krill as the sun sets. Others harvest what they can as they expect lean days ahead. According to a longtime resident, thousands of birds may be quite a sight, but is actually a bad omen to fisherfolk. The presence of these birds signifies that there will be no fish for the next couple of days. Birds flock near the shore to eat krill and fish that have surfaced because of pollution.
