The Incredible Features Of Steven Spielberg's $160 Million Superyacht

steven spielberg smiling

In 2021, the Seven Seas, the luxury yacht belonging to billionaire movie director Steven Spielberg, was sold to billionaire steel magnate Barry Zekelman after being listed for almost $158 million earlier in the year (via Bloomberg ).

Spielberg first commissioned the 282-foot yacht in 2010. The superyacht was designed by Oceanco, a luxury shipbuilding company from the Netherlands. If the name sounds familiar, this company has also recently built a superyacht for Amazon founder  Jeff Bezos . The Seven Seas was custom-made for the award-winning film director and has lots of amenities and high-end features. It's a powerful ship that can hit a top speed of 20 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots. The yacht also has two MTU engines, which provide a walloping 4,680 horsepower each, according to Robb Report .

In the past, this yacht has been sailing all over and has been seen cruising off the coast of France during the Cannes Film Festival, and in the Caribbean near the islands of Antigua and Barbuda.

It's decked out inside

The Seven Seas has four spacious decks and plenty of room for relaxing and entertaining guests. It features nine cabins that can accommodate up to 20 people, plus 28 crew members. The owner's suite for Spielberg is gorgeous and has a deck with a jacuzzi, office, and private terrace. It also has a full-beam VIP stateroom on the main deck with several other cabins on the lower deck (via Robb Report and Superyacht Times ).

Designers Nuvolari Lenard and Molly Isaksen collaborated to create the boat's lush wooden-themed interior (via Architectural Digest ). As would be expected, a yacht as opulent as the Seven Seas is jam-packed with amenities for Spielberg and his guests to enjoy. Published photos of the Seven Seas show jumbo screens in every room and a home cinema onboard. You can also find a sauna, steam room, gym, massage room, lounge areas, bars, and a swimming pool. This yacht is so large it can even accommodate a helipad. Like other superyachts, it comes with the standard garage where you can fit speedboats, water toys, and diving gear.

Now that Steven Spielberg has sold his yacht, fans just have to wait and see if another mega yacht is coming in the future.

Steven Spielberg Takes Delivery On His Cinematic $250 Million Superyacht

Steven Spielberg Takes Delivery On His Cinematic $250 Million Superyacht

Garry Lu

Considering he’s only ever agreed on a handful of occasions — and solely for two major franchises ( Indiana Jones , Jurassic Park ) — it takes a lot to convince that Steven Spielberg something needs a sequel, which should give you some idea about the significance of his brand new superyacht: Seven Seas 2.0.

For context, Seven Seas was also the name of his last Oceanco-built luxury vessel. Measuring 282 feet (86 metres) long, the Hollywood power player sold the previous iteration for around $150 million to make way for its eventual successor; Seven Seas 1.0 having also since been renamed Man of Steel (perhaps fellow director Zack Snyder was in the market).

Conceptualised by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design , Seven Seas 2.0 is a considerably larger boat at 358 feet (109 metres) with a capacity for 14 guests across seven cabins as well as 30 staff across 15 cabins. Flaunting a gorgeously proportioned profile and sleek steel hull, this lightweight aluminium beauty imposes quite a presence.

Key features include the following:

  • 9 x staterooms
  • 1 x beach club
  • 1 x helipad
  • 1 x tender garage
  • and of course, a full-blown movie theatre

Seven Seas is powered by twin MTU 20V 4000 M73L diesel engines, each capable of generating 4,813 horsepower and achieving speeds of 20 knots. It weighs 4,444 tons.

All in all, it’s exactly what you’d expect from a four-time Academy Award winner with a reported net worth of almost $8 billion — check out Steven Spielberg’s superyacht Seven Seas 2.0 below.

Does this 357-Foot New Yacht Belong to Steven Spielberg?

Oceanco is keeping details of the mammoth vessel’s owner under wraps.

By Irenie Forshaw

Steven Spielberg yacht

Oceanco is used to catering for the fabulously wealthy; earlier this year the Dutch shipbuilder delivered Jeff Bezos’s gleaming new ship , Koru. Now, the rumor mill is going into overdrive once again. This time, Steven Spielberg is reportedly the billionaire behind its newest yacht: Seven Seas.

Spanning 357 feet, the mammoth motoryacht isn’t as long as Koru – which scooped the title of the longest sailing yacht on the planet at 417 ft – but she does cut an impressive figure. This isn’t Spielberg’s first foray into the yachting world – the Hollywood director had his first ship (also called Seven Seas ) delivered by Oceanco back in 2010.

The original Seven Seas – whose name is inspired by Spielberg’s seven children – measured 282 feet and boasted an expansive spa , gym, beauty salon, and, of course, movie theatre. But the four-time Academy Award winner sold the ship to Canadian billionaire Barry Zekelman in 2021 for a cool $151m (the ship has since been renamed Man of Steel).

It seems Spielberg has caught the superyacht bug; the new Seven Seas is even bigger and more lavish than her predecessor. So, what do we know about the director’s latest ship? While Oceanco has remained relatively tight-lipped on the project, a few key details have emerged which we’ll dive into here.

Who is building Steven Spielberg’s new yacht?

Spielberg yacht Seven Seas

The superyacht – previously known as project Y720 – was commissioned back in 2022 for a whopping $250m. She was built by Oceanco – the same shipyard that made Spielberg’s old boat in Alblasserdam, a town in the western Netherlands around 12 miles from Rotterdam. Omani billionaire businessman Mohammed al Barwani bought the luxury shipyard back in 2010 (he also owns Turquoise Yachts in Istanbul).

Oceanco has an impressive track record when it comes to building jaw-dropping superyachts. As well as recently unveiling Bezos’s Koru, four years ago the shipbuilder delivered Black Pearl – a striking three-mast vessel which, at 350 ft, became the largest sailing yacht in the world at the time, and garnered attention for its cutting-edge eco-credentials.

What do we know about the design?

steven spielberg yacht

Oceanco collaborated with Dutch firm Sinot Yacht Architecture Design to build Spielberg’s new yacht. The project was overseen by Lateral Naval Architects, with the team carrying out an “extensive optimization process” to ensure Seven Seas met the highest performance standards (she is the first LY3-compliant yacht to feature a Marine Evacuation System).

Powered by twin MTU 20V 4000 M73L diesel engines, she is able to reach top speeds of up to 20 knots and weighs in at 4,444 GT. Her sleek steel hull, teak deck, and lightweight aluminum superstructure give her a graceful silhouette; this is certainly a yacht to turn heads.

Considerably larger than Spielberg’s former yacht, Seven Seas 2.0 can host up to 14 guests across seven cabins (so there’s plenty of space for his entire family). There’s also room onboard for up to 30 crew, plus a gym, pool, spa, beach club, helipad and tender garage. Oh, and there’s a movie theatre too. Obviously.

The fourth largest project delivered by Oceanco to date, she was glimpsed for the first time in March 2022 being rolled out of the construction shed at the shipyard and was spotted in the Port of Gibraltar in early July.

How about the interiors?

Spielberg yacht exterior

It’s extremely unlikely we’ll get to see inside Spielberg’s new yacht anytime soon, but we do know the interiors onboard Seven Seas have been crafted by Beverly Hills-based designer Molly Isaksen (in a telling sign she was also brought in for the interiors onboard Man of Steel ).

While details remain sparse, Oceanco did reveal we can expect plenty of “natural materials and glass onboard, offering guests an unparalleled outward-looking experience”.

A Closer Look at Steven Spielberg’s Yacht Seven Seas

Few names in Hollywood can compare to Steven Spielberg. The mention of this award-winning filmmaker’s name alone brings about memories of some of the industry’s best movies including Jaws, Indiana Jones, Schindler’s List, Lincoln, Ready Player One, and so many more. While we only know a few details about how Spielberg lives his private life, we do know that he owns a yacht—a superyacht at that. Called the Seven Seas , Spielberg’s yacht is the type that exists only in dreams. We’re going to head for the ocean to take a closer look at Spielberg’s yacht and what makes it incredible.

First off, it’s important to note that Spielberg’s yacht is worth about $184 million. That’s a lot of money, but it’s not that big of a deal for someone whose net worth is about $3.7 billion. Spielberg continues to add to that net worth, not only through making films but also through his yacht. Business Insider tells us that Spielberg actually opened up the doors to his yacht to allow anyone to charter it for a fee. We say anyone because even you can charter the yacht as long as you can afford the monthly fee of $1.2 million. If that fee is a little too steep for you, allow us to just indulge your senses by telling you why the yacht might be worth that much.

First off, it may sound ridiculous but people have insane amounts of money everywhere. And Spielberg can charter his yacht by that much because he is who he is. His superyacht is actually for sale, and it’s a good sales strategy to allow potential buyers to charter the yacht before purchase. This 282-foot long vessel was designed and built by Dutch company Oceano . The style of the yacht is sleek and elegant. Apart from its size, you can tell how luxurious it really is from its exterior design. The blue hull perfectly contrasts the white color of the upper deck platform. It’s simply a stunning view from any angle you take it in.

The Interior

Moving into the interior is a similar experience. Every single room inside the yacht is outlined with beautiful and rich wooden materials. The décor is exotic, eclectic, and equally luxurious. Every single room in the superyacht is larger than average rooms on land. But the room sizes aren’t the best part about the Seven Seas. When Oceano created this yacht, they packed it in with a number of amenities that only the rich could afford to have built. The Seven Seas has a gorgeous infinity pool, but it’s no ordinary infinity pool. This area is outfitted with a 15-foot dual-purpose glass screen that serves as a monitor for movies to be played on. After all, what’s a Spielberg yacht if you can’t watch movies on it? The infinity pool happens to also serve another luxury purpose: a helipad. The pool converts somehow just so a helicopter (maybe Spielberg’s) can come and go as needed. Other amenities in the yacht includes an indoor cinema with a screen larger than the infinity pool’s, a fully equipped gym that features an amazing panoramic view of the ocean, a fully functional spa for relaxation, and of course, a fully stocked bar for some libations.

Watersports

The fun doesn’t end there at the Seven Seas. The yacht will also give you access to a lot of watersports options. As a guest on this yacht, you can have access to various watersports equipment such as snorkels, wetsuits, kayaks, sea bobs, water skiis, and so many more. For those seriously considering renting out this charter, you’d have to consider the accommodations first. The yacht needs 26 crewmembers to be fully staffed. The rest of the guest rooms can be occupied by up to 12 guests, plus Spielberg. While all the guest rooms are lovely and amazing, not all guest rooms are created equal. You could expect that Spielberg’s room happens to be the best, as it features a study room and a Jacuzzi among other special things. All of the guest rooms are fit to welcome some of Hollywood’s royalty including Leonardo di Caprio and actress Blake Lively.

When it comes to performance, only true power could pull a yacht of that size. The Seven Seas has an incredibly powerful engine that has a maximum speed of 20 knots. The superyacht cruises at 15 knots. It has a range of 15,000 nautical miles, and it’s outfitted with some of the best stabilizing mechanisms out there. Interestingly enough, Spielberg is actually prone to seasickness. In fact, he’s said a few times before that he’s actually not much of an ocean person. People have said similar things before only to have their minds changed by the ocean. It’s been rumored that the reason why Spielberg is chartering the Seven Seas is that he wants to sell it for a bigger yacht. Despite the seasickness, Spielberg has fallen in love with the ocean and the boating life. He wants more yacht space than what he’s got now, and we can only speculate that he’s probably looking to spend more time in it than he does now. After all, being in the ocean for a long time can begin to feel claustrophobic. It’s been rumored that Spielberg has his eyes set on a particular yacht that sails at about 300 feet. It isn’t much bigger than the Seven Seas, but it sure costs much more. The new yacht is said to cost $250 million, and it probably has even better amenities than the Seven Seas. For now, Spielberg is enjoying the superyacht he has now until it’s time for the next.

Beyond his West Coast megahomes , Steven Spielberg also owns a 282-foot-long superyacht. The legendary film director bought it in 2010, but after a decade of ownership, Dirt reports that he’s putting his custom-crafted vessel, Seven Seas, up for sale with a high asking price of around $160 million.

The massive mansion-sized vessel was named after his seven kids and his former wife, actress Kate Capshaw. Built by Oceanco, it features four decks, 45,000 gallons of fresh water, and a 77,000-gallon fuel tank with a range of up to 5,200 miles, which is more than enough for a transatlantic trip. Apart from all the space and power, the yacht is equipped with a swimming pool, multiple spas, a total of 17 televisions, easy-to-control smart-home technology, and much more.

In order to operate things safely, the listing says it takes a crew of 28 people. When it came to design and decor, Spielberg called on the expertise of Nuvolari & Lenard and Molly Isaksen. Upon entering, there’s a wood-paneled common area that has elegant built-in shelves lined with books and even a bar set up with Guinness on draft.

Naturally, one of the standout amenities is the ship’s state-of-the-art screening room complete with plush sofas and a baby grand piano. Finally, we’d be remiss not to mention the one-of-a-kind views all around the Jaws director’s boat—though, of course, they are ever-changing.

The original Seven Seas, now known as Man of Steel , was delivered to Spielberg in 2010. The four-time Academy Award winner, who ranks as the most commercially successful director in history with a net worth of $4 billion, spared no expense when designing his dream machine. He opted for nine generous staterooms, a spa, a gym, a pool, a beach club, a helipad, a tender garage, and a full movie theater, of course. Over the past decade, the OG Seven Seas has lived up to its moniker, sailing the coast of France during the Cannes Film Festival and the waters of Antigua and Barbuda. The high-profile 282-footer will certainly be a tough act to follow, but the new 357-footer could well steal the spotlight.

INSIDE SCOOP: Steven Spielberg’s $200million Superyacht named Seven Seas

He is one of the greatest directors of his generation – and now  Steven Spielberg  has reaped the rewards of so many iconic and successful films by purchasing the 282ft superyacht Seven Seas .

The director of Jurassic Park, E.T and Jaws is often spotted cruising in St Barts and St Maarten and his treasured possession boasts a helipad, a spa and massage room and a Jacuzzi. But the best part of the yacht is an amazing infinity pool with a 15ft glass wall that can convert into a movie theater!

Seven Seas accommodates as many as 12 people in ultra-glam bedrooms and considering the roll-call of famous guests he has already welcomed on board – he won’t have any trouble getting company to frequent them!

Celebrity guests have included Leonardo DiCaprio and   Blake Lively  who were pictured on board when the yacht was in the French Riviera. It is thought they were meeting following auditions for Baz Luhrmann’s version of The Great Gatsby. Rumors abound that they were a couple as Leo’s former flame, model Bar Rafaeli, was pictured at various red carpet events flying solo… Leonardo famously starred in the Speilberg film Catch Me If You Can, co-starring Hollywood heavyweight Tom Hanks.

Gwyneth Paltrow was also pictured on board, together with her children when they took a trip to Sardinia . Not only was she cast in a small role in the film Hook, but the director is also her godfather. Not bad having family who come complete with beautiful big yachts!

Triple Best Actor Oscar winner  Daniel Day-Lewis was also seen with his family and wife, Rebecca Miller, daughter of legendary American playwright Arthur Miller, who was once married to Marilyn Monroe,  off the coast of Sicily on board Seven Seas. 109-metre Oceanco superyacht Seven Seas delivered

Tuesday, July 4th, 2023

Written by: Marine Industry News

Seven Seas Oceanco

Dutch shipyard Oceanco has delivered its latest project, the 109-metre motoryacht Seven Seas , previously known as Y720.

The vessel launched in March 2022 from the Oceanco facilities in Alblasserdam after being constructed in Zwijndrecht.

Reports speculate the superyacht could belong to film director Steven Spielberg. In 2021, Spielberg sold an 86-metre 2010 Oceanco yacht, also called Seven Seas, to a Canadian billionaire, fuelling rumours that Y720 is a replacement.

Seven Seas is the result of Oceanco’s first collaboration between Sinot Yacht Architecture, which oversaw the exterior and interior, with naval architecture penned by Lateral Naval Architects. Molly Isaksen Interiors handled the interior design, although details of the interiors have not been revealed.

According to the yard, there is ‘exquisite use’ of natural materials and glass onboard, and the owner has played an important role in the vessel’s design.

Seven Seas is also the first LY3-compliant yacht to feature a marine evacuation system.

Seven Seas is the second delivery of 2023 for Oceanco. It handed over 127-metre Koru to Amazon founder Jeff Bezos earlier this year.

Steven spielberg is selling his $184 million mega-yacht because he needs a bigger boat.

(Oceanco Yacht) You can charter The Seven Seas, Steven Spielberg's 282-foot mega-yacht, for $1.2 million a month.

Filmmaker Steven Spielberg is in need of a bit more space while traversing the oceans.

He's selling his yacht, The Seven Seas, which he purchased for approximately $184 million, because the 282-foot vessel is just not enough boat for him, according to the Daily Mail.

"Steven didn’t realize how much he’d enjoy cruising the ocean. Now he’d like to spend more time exploring the seas, and bring a few friends along for the ride. So he’s upgrading to a bigger yacht," a friend of the director's told the Daily Mail.

(Oceanco Yacht)

Built by Dutch shipbuilding company Oceanco, The Seven Seas is packed with amenities. An infinity pool, 15-foot glass movie screen, helicopter pad, gym, spa, and massage room are just a few of the luxuries that are reportedly onboard.

As for accommodations, there's one master suite, two VIP suites, two double bed cabins, and one cabin with a twin bed. In total, the yacht can sleep 12.

Spielberg is currently chartering out the massive yacht to the tune of $1.2 million a month — making it one of the most expensive charters in the world, the Daily Mail reports.

His new yacht will be a mere 18 feet bigger, reaching the coveted 300-foot threshold and costing a cool $250 million to build.

Steven Spielberg's Two Worst Movies According To Rotten Tomatoes

Steven Spielberg Goldmember

For a good while, it seemed as though everything Steven Spielberg touched turned to gold. Having established the very concept of the blockbuster with "Jaws" in 1975, the director went on to make hit after hit with "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" (1977), "Raiders of the Lost Ark" (1981), and "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial" (1982). Even 1984's "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" was a box office success, despite shocking some viewers who weren't used to such a dark and oddly violent effort from the director. Critical response to the movie was also more mixed than it had been for its predecessor. Of course, anyone following Spielberg's career closely would have known that "Temple of Doom" was not the first time the seemingly infallible director had fallen afoul of the critics.

Sandwiched between "Close Encounters" and "Raiders" in Spielberg's filmography is "1941." Made in 1979, this war comedy featured an ensemble cast that included Dan Aykroyd, Ned Beatty, John Belushi, John Candy, and Christopher Lee. Unfortunately, the impressive talent on-hand couldn't save Spielberg's foray into comedy from failing to wow critics — even while the film made three times its production budget with a $94 million worldwide box office take.

Now, 45 years after its debut, "1941" has become one of Spielberg's lowest-rated films on Rotten Tomatoes — a fact which surely won't worry the directing legend too much. But while this was an early blip on an otherwise stellar record, "1941" wouldn't be the last time critics took Spielberg to task — as evidenced by Rotten Tomatoes' ranking of the filmmaker's oeuvre.

Steven Spielberg's 1941 didn't fare too well on Rotten Tomatoes

Dan Aykroyd John Candy 1941

"1941" has a bit of a strange premise. The movie tries to mine American post-Pearl Harbor fear for comedy, which perhaps unsurprisingly resulted in a less than impressive RT score. As it stands, "1941" has a 39% rating on Rotten Tomatoes , but there are several things to say here.

Firstly, the RT score for "1941" is based on just 28 reviews, of which only three come from "top critics." What's more, of those three, two actually liked the movie, with Ian Freer of Empire even writing that the film is "blessed with the buzz of brilliance." Indeed, if you take a look at the average rating for "1941" — Rotten Tomatoes' representation of the actual grades given to films by critics — "1941" holds a more respectable 5 out of ten.

Still, there's no getting around the fact that "1941" was not exactly a critical hit, even with its top comedic cast and the writing talents of Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale involved. In his negative review for the New York Times , Vincent Canby described "1941" as "less comic than cumbersome," and "as much fun as a 40-pound wrist-watch."

That said, the second major point here is that 39% is not actually all that bad a rating relative to some of the other lowest scores we've seen in Rotten Tomatoes' ranking of directors and actors' work. If you're John Travolta, with his seven 0%-rated movies , for example, you'd probably be pretty impressed by a career that, at its worst, yielded a 39% Tomatometer score. Even the great Ridley Scott's filmography includes a regrettable 26-percenter. Unfortunately, 39% is actually not the lowest score Spielberg has ever seen from Rotten Tomatoes.

Hook should have been a Steven Spielberg classic

Robin Williams Hook

After "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom," audiences weren't entirely sure that the Steven Spielberg they'd come to know still existed. Previously, his films revolved around a celebration of childhood wonder, but "Temple of Doom" with its literal violence against children, seemed to mark a turning point in the director's creative approach. But much of the darkness in "Temple of Doom" came from George Lucas' script, with Spielberg himself later saying , "I wasn't happy with 'Temple of Doom' at all. It was too dark [...] There's not an ounce of my personal feeling in 'Temple of Doom.'"

Still, there's no denying the films that followed were much bleaker affairs than "E.T." or "Raiders." "The Color Purple" and "Empire of the Sun" were undeniable departures for the director, who had welcomed his first son in 1985 — the same year he abandoned his long-gestating passion project, a live-action Peter Pan adaptation, and had seemingly taken the role of dad seriously enough that his perspective became much more mature.

By the late-'80s, however, Spielberg was ready to finally bring his Peter Pan adaptation to fruition. 1989's "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" had been somewhat of a return to the director's more family-friendly approach, but "Always," released later that same year, seemed to be another a step backward. 1991's "Hook," as the adaptation was eventually titled, was therefore set to be his real triumph — a true passion project that once again tapped into Spielberg's fascination with, and reverence for childhood. The director identified with the character of Jack in the original story, whose rocky relationship with his father somewhat mirrored Spielberg's own. In that sense, much like with "E.T.," "Hook" seemed to have all the makings of a Spielberg classic. Sadly, the film is now the director's lowest-rated movie on Rotten Tomatoes.

Steven Spielberg's lowest-rated film on Rotten Tomatoes

Dustin Hoffman Hook

At the time of writing, "Hook" has a 29% rating on Rotten Tomatoes . Unlike with "1941," of the 65 reviews collected on the site, a full 18 of them are from "top critics," who evidently weren't too impressed with Steven Spielberg's sequel to J. M. Barrie's 1911 "Peter Pan" novel.

In the film, Robin Williams played an older version of the boy who wouldn't grow up in the form of Peter Banning — a middle-aged lawyer who is consumed by his work and has forgotten his childhood. When Dustin Hoffman's Captain Hook captures his children, Peter is forced to return to Neverland and rediscovers his childhood in the process. Not a bad idea, really — especially as it serves as a nice little allegory for the way in which becoming an adult often detaches us all from our sense of innocence. Unfortunately, despite turning a modest profit at the box office, the film didn't prove to be the Spielbergian classic many had hoped.

Critics were not very kind to "Hook," as evidenced by its standing as the lowest-rated Spielberg movie on Rotten Tomatoes. In a particularly biting review, Kenneth Turan of the Los Angeles Times wrote, "It has clearly gotten harder for this director to break free of the lure of material things and believe in simple magic." In his two-star review , Roger Ebert was similarly pessimistic, calling the film a "lugubrious retread of a once-magical idea" and writing, "The sad thing about the screenplay for 'Hook' is that it's so correctly titled: This whole construction is really nothing more than a hook on which to hang a new version of the Peter Pan story."

Is Hook really that bad?

Steven Spielberg Goldmember

It might not come as that big a surprise that "Hook" is Steven Spielberg's lowest-rated film on Rotten Tomatoes. Even Spielberg himself didn't have much faith in "Hook" while he was filming it , claiming not to have confidence in the bulk of the script. But as previously mentioned, Spielberg's worst movie was always going to be a heck of a lot better than the worst movie of pretty much everyone else in Hollywood, and 29% is not great, but it definitely isn't as bad as it could be. It's also worth noting that the film's actual average rating on Rotten Tomatoes is 4.5 out of ten — again, a slight step up from the 29% rating.

Years after it was released, however, Spielberg remains as penitent, telling Entertainment Weekly in 2011:

"There are parts of Hook I love. I'm really proud of my work right up through Peter being hauled off in the parachute out the window, heading for Neverland. I'm a little less proud of the Neverland sequences because I'm uncomfortable with that highly stylized world that today, of course, I would probably have done with live-action character work inside a completely digital set."

Still, at least Spielberg can rest easy in the knowledge "Hook" inspired the director of the upcoming "Wicked" movie , and I'm sure the film's RT score is the least of the filmmaker's concerns when it comes to his well-intentioned but ill-fated Peter Pan sequel.
