History of CR Yachts

CR Yachts is a prestigious and reputable yacht manufacturer with a long-standing reputation for crafting high-quality sailboats. The company was established in 1975 in Sweden, by two brothers, Christer and Rolf Magnusson. Both shared a deep passion for sailing and devoted their time, skills, and expertise to developing seaworthy and comfortable boats that conformed to Scandinavian craftsmanship. Originally, the manufacturing base was placed in Björlanda Kile, just north of Gothenburg. Yet, CR Yachts' foundation is deeply entwined with the Hallberg-Rassy yard, as Rolf Magnusson was once a co-owner of this well-respected brand.

In 1995, the Magnusson brothers decided to develop their line of boats under the brand name CR Yachts, separating from Hallberg-Rassy entirely. At the same time, they decided to relocate their base to Kungsviken, on the Swedish island Orust. From their new base, they have continued with the production of premium quality cruiser-racers that are versatile and robust, designed to withstand the harsh Scandinavian seas while offering comfort and functional layouts.

In the large main cabin, guests can relax in first class comfort. The main cabin with it's over-sized sofas and high quality upholstery offers space as well as elegance. CR YACHTS is located on the west coast of Sweden. They work hard to maintain a personal relationship with their customers even after delivery. Each CR Yacht is individually inspected and approved during and after the build. Hull, deck, rudder, keel, chain plates and bulkheads are all built according to the high standards of Lloyds Register of Shipping or CE norm.

The CR 400 DS is a classic deck saloon yacht from well-known CR Yachts of Orust. Charlie Rutgersson and his team have built a yacht with comfortable spaces, solid quality and great sailing performance. The design is elegant and slender for a deck saloon yacht, the superstructure is low and the deck layout is well thought out and functional. The big advantage of these yachts is the spacious interior with a raised deck section that gives an unbeatable view and closeness to the sea and surroundings. The interior is made of Khaya mahogany and there are several smart and luxurious solutions on board. The cockpit is well optimized for sailing with everything necessary within easy reach from the helm position. The yacht is easily sailed with a small crew thanks to the furling mast and jib, which is launched on a self-tacking track. In the cockpit and on the aft deck, there is also plenty of storage space, giving the opportunity to go on a longer trip, something that this bluewater cruiser has no problem with!

The layout of the CR 400 DS offers, in addition to the raised deck-salon part, a navigation seat, which with the help of electronic engine controls and autopilot, functions perfectly as a driver’s seat below deck. Aft of this, on the starboard side is a spacious toilet with a separate shower area. On the port side at the companionway there is an aft cabin with two berths. Between the raised saloon and the Owner’s cabin in the bow, there is a galley which feels both large and spacious with practical surfaces and lots of storage space.

This CR 400 DS, KUNG BYXLÖS has been sailing on the east coast since 2009 with her second owner. The yacht has a high level of equipment with everything necessary for a comfortable life on board. The owner has upgraded the sail wardrobe and technical equipment and she has been stored indoors during the winter.

The HOLD FAST is a 2020 model BAVARIA 37 Cruiser as produced by BAVARIA YACHTBAU of Giebelstadt, Germany. Designed by Bruce Farr and introduced in 2013, the new "37 CR" was immediately successful as a proven yacht with very good performance capabilities that are true to this Naval Architect's track record. A strong and sophisticated yacht, the "37 CR" has not been out-designed over the years which is a good testament to her virtues!

The HOLD FAST has been properly maintained and equipped by her first and only Owner. Nicely set up with a custom "Code 0" with a carbon fiber sprit and a German Mainsheet System that enhances the ease of the mainsail management, she's easy to sail with a light crew (or none!) and offers very good performance. The HOLD FAST does have a 12k BTU air conditioning system and an elegant electrical management setup that's complete with several solar panels as well.
